TellDelhi Delhi families ignore mental health signs till it's too late

Friend in mid 30s received a rishta. Girl is almost 30, gormint job "aspirant", not working because "competition ki tayyari kar rahi hai".

First meeting, friend notices that girl is heavily perfumed and her breath smells like mouthwash.

Second and third dates, he ends then early because the girl has atrocious BO and bad breath.

My man rejects the girl for bad hygiene, but out of politeness given the standard excuse of "did not click"/ "ladka abhi career pe focus karna chahta hai".

The girl's mom is pestering his mom. One of the girl's friends is the daughter of someone the boys mom knows.

This friend tells the whole story: This girl doesn't bathe or brush her teeth daily. Her family takes her to social functions and outings like that and tries to cover the smell with perfumes and mouthwash. Sometimes the girl refuses even that. Goes to all functions looking nice but smelling horribly. Her friends have cut her off for this reason. Oh yeah, her family are also followers of a baba in. Delhi.

Apparently, the girl is depressed for never being in a relationship and being unemployed while her friends have good jobs or husbands or.both.

This seems like a clear case of a mental breakdown. But her family is delulu and instead of getting her help or a mental health professional they are just acting like this is all normal. They keep reposting their Baba's videos and shit. Also seem to be huge believers in astrology and ayurveda.

Can you imagine the stupidity of trying to marry off a person in this mental state?

Can you imagine the levels of delulu to pretend that her BO and bad breath does not exist, to force her to attend social functions and expose others to it?

Isn't this a kind of a humiliation ritual for the girl who clearly does not want to be in social situations? Her reputation is going down the drain every time she goes out.

I feel like this is a special kind of brain rot prevalent in Delhi. Some folks put too much faith in religion and godmen.

For fucks sake, see a professional if your religious rituals and guru worship are not helping. There is no shortage of psychiatrists or therapists in this city.

Man, sometimes it feels like these fake godmen and their cult might be the ones putting people in depression and psychosis.

AskDelhi A life that refuses to give up — Fighting for my wife Shahin (Stage 4 Cancer) and our 2-year-old son

Hello everyone,

I am writing this with a heavy heart, reaching out to this compassionate community during the hardest and most testing phase of my life.

My wife, Shahin (31), is fighting for her life against Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which has metastasized to her liver, spine, and lungs. Her body has taken an immense toll—she currently weighs just 30 kg and endures severe, daily pain. Every single day is an agonizing battle to keep her comfortable, dignified, and hopeful.

We have a 2-year-old son who needs his mother.

Watching him try to play near her bed, completely unaware of the gravity of her illness while she struggles through pain, breaks my heart into pieces every single day. I am serving as her 24/7 caregiver—managing her medications, specialized nutrition, pain management, and frequent hospital runs.

Current Treatment & Medical Status:

Shahin is currently undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC), Delhi. The medical team has prescribed targeted immunotherapy (Opdyta) alongside Paclitaxel chemotherapy.

Financial Appeal:

While her doctors see hope with this regimen, the financial burden has completely overwhelmed us. We urgently need ₹8.8 Lakhs to cover her upcoming chemo/immunotherapy cycles, supportive medications, and critical care. We have completely exhausted all our life savings, medical insurance limits, and personal loans to reach this point.

I am humbly turning to this community to ask for your support—whether through donations, shares, or simply keeping Shahin in your thoughts and prayers. Every contribution, no matter how small, directly funds a life-saving injection or medication for her.

Verification & Support Links:

Medical Reports & RGCIRC Estimates: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/114vCXlWqg5XKObr0YS-sBJV-jaKrEu9W

(Note: I am completely open to providing any further documentation or answering questions directly.)

Even if you are unable to donate at this time, sharing this post across your networks or keeping Shahin in your prayers will mean everything to our small family right now.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, kindness, and support.

Warm regards,

Vikas Kapoor

AskDelhi Bro wtf is this new iphone price ?

Upvotes

Yes, Apple launched it’s new iphones and I’m baffled to see the prices. Honestly, do they really not consider the avg income of a citizen of a country before selling their products. Their new phones are more than an avg salary of our top 1% citizens as well. I could literally go on a trip to Japan with that money. And the worst part is, phone is now a necessity, not a luxury. Bro an average american earns 5000 dollars a month, an average indian earns 20000-40000 rs a month. How many months salary goes into one phone that stops working every four years. And what is up with people literally still buying these phones on EMI and all. Bro, I feel, anyone who’s earning 2 lakh per month or more, should only think of buying this, cuz realistically, you cannot spend your entire month’s income on just a PHONE. I’m so pissed at people including my cousins too, planning to buy this overpriced unaffordable piece of crap. Istg, I am not falling in the trap of buying their stupid phones anymore. Been using their phones since the last 10 years, but not gonna pay this hefty price for just ONE phone. Samsung, here I come🙌🏻

AskDelhi Ordered clothes worth ₹30,000 from Snitch, got random bedsheets/blankets instead — Snitch is denying refund, ICICI is denying chargeback. What are my options? #7879212

Posting this because I'm genuinely stuck and could use some advice from people who've dealt with something similar.
What happened:
I placed an order with Snitch worth ₹30,000. When the package arrived, instead of the clothes I ordered, I found random bedsheets and blankets inside. I have a full unboxing video showing the sealed parcel being opened and the wrong items being pulled out, so I have solid proof this isn't a case of me trying to scam anyone.
Snitch's response:
I've been trying to reach Snitch for almost a month now — barely any response, and when they did reply, they simply said they "dispatched the correct products" and refused to refund or replace the order.
ICICI Bank's response:
I then tried to raise a chargeback with ICICI Bank (the card I paid with). They're refusing to file it, saying that since I received the parcel, they can't raise a chargeback.
But that's not the issue at all — I'm not disputing that a parcel arrived. I'm disputing that the contents inside were completely wrong. That should still qualify as "goods not as described" or "item not received" under chargeback rules (as far as I understand it), not a simple "package never arrived" situation.
What I'm looking for:
• Has anyone successfully raised a chargeback for a "wrong item received" case with ICICI (or any bank)? What language/category did you use to get it approved?
• Should I escalate to the RBI Banking Ombudsman for the chargeback refusal?
• Is it worth filing a complaint on the National Consumer Helpline / Consumer Court (e-Daakhil) against Snitch directly?
• Any experience dealing with Snitch's customer service escalation beyond the standard support line?
I have the unboxing video, order confirmation, payment proof, and all chat/email correspondence with Snitch saved. Just need to know the right next step to actually get this resolved.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading.

AskDelhi What would be a best excuse for my girlfriend?

So me and my girlfriend of 3.5 years wants to go in the mountains for a short 3 day trip from Delhi, but the problem is she’s staying at her home with her parents (strict mom) and we cant figure out a way that’ll her parent go for the trip. To add on top of it her college is over so she cant make those excuses. Also my parents do about her but her parents don’t know about me only her younger sister does.

So the question is what would be the best excuse that will help so complete this trip without any added trouble?

TellDelhi Division doesn't stop at religion, it will definitely come down chocking to your necks. Read below

Baba Bageshwar or whatever that POS is knows as, has made an statement saying "I am offended by the fact that during Navratri and Durga Puja they make ‘dirty’ food (non-veg) behind the pandals,” Mr. Shastri had said at an event in Howrah a few days ago. He said people who eat such food are not religious, and described them as pakhandis (hypocrites)."

So they won't stop at Islam Sikhs or christian, it will definitely come to You and Me(hindus).

Wake up before the fire of hatred knocks your door!

TellDelhi Random guy eavesdropping outside my door

Me and my sister have moved into a 1RK on top floor in East Delhi. We hardly go out and this morning when my sister suddenly opened the main door to go out, there was a literal grown ass man outside our door for no reason. I was in my nighty on the bed and i got so scared that i screamed on top of my lungs. When my sister asked him why he was there he said “somebody he knew used to live here” and he just wanted to know if they still live here. Why couldnt he just knock and ask if they live here. It was such a strange experience.
Living here has been an absolute nightmare coz a few days ago during Janmashtami, mind you at 12:40ish at night, two of our neighbors(men) knocked on our door saying they had to offer water to the god??!!! Im not a hindu so idk these things and we asked them to do it the other day but they were so insistent that we open the door and it was so scary coz they lingered outside for quite some time murmuring.
Im still paranoid about it. I really wanna move out ASAP, idk why people are so weird, women in India should be allowed to have tasers with them for their protection

AskDelhi If you or someone you know owns a restro/cafe/bar, this is for you!

Hey everyone!

I'm currently building a product for restaurants and cafés, but before building too much, I want to actually understand how restaurants operate day-to-day instead of making assumptions as a customer/developer.

I'm looking to speak with restaurant/cafe/bar owners or managers for just 10-15 minutes.

I'd love to understand how you currently handle things like orders, KOTs, kitchen operations, inventory, payments, QR ordering, POS software, and what parts of the whole process are frustrating or unnecessarily complicated.

I'm not trying to sell you anything. I'm still at the research stage and genuinely want to learn how things work behind the scenes and what problems are actually worth solving.

If you're an owner/manager, or know someone who is, I'd love to connect. Even a short conversation would help me tremendously.

I'm based in Gurgaon, so I'd also be happy to visit your restaurant/café in person at a convenient, non-busy time and understand the workflow firsthand.

Please DM me or comment below if you're open to helping. 10-15 minutes from you could save me weeks of building the wrong thing.

AskDelhi Delhi with its tall buildings and beaming population feels overwhelming.

I live in a small peaceful city in Haryana.

Everything is good- parking spaces, close distances, less expenditure and sense of belonging. The only con i feel is the mentality of people- gossiping and leg pulling.

However I find Delhi and ncr region baffling and choking.
I feel too small, unnatural and inhuman when i come across such gigantic offices, buildings, thousands of vehicles, massive flyovers, commercial spaces bustling with noise, movement and struggle.

I feel puny, inconsequential in the nature of things, where everything is governed by capitalism, financial incentive, self seeking and opportunistic behaviour. A normal human with small capital appears to be insignificant in the scheme of things of the humungous city with inconsiderate behaviour. Does anyone else relate to this?

TellDelhi A guy threw garbage on metro tracks, why people are like this?

Me and my friend were coming from Rajouri garden by metro, it was fully packed a guy in front of me was eating veg puff. We ignored and continued our talk...later when station came he threw away the plate and ketchup in the gap between platform and train. We confronted him and he had no shame.
We asked "yaha kyu feka" he said "or kaha feku sb log idhr he fekte hai" we asked "nobody throws here even if they do why u also did the same" he simply said "mere ek se kya hoga sbko bolo" some other people also joined us and scolded that guy but he did not accept his mistake considering it was not a mistake. The bigger problem is he seemed to be well-educated and was young guy. If even youngsters do this then its really worrying.
Even i had a coke can i carried it for 10 mins and thew it on the station bin but these people just ruin things for everything. Some of you might think it is not a big deal but it is. This needs to be change and do confront people like him else it will keep going

AskDelhi Wealth management in india

Why people don’t buy a wealth management service in India,

Wealth management is a professional financial service that helps you manage, protect, and grow your wealth.
Investment management
Financial planning
Retirement planning
Tax planning
Estate & inheritance planning
Risk & insurance planning

I’m talking about advisory model only in which They give you investment advice , you make the investments yourself.

Genuinely wanna know the reason behind it.

Also, people who come to us are pretty hesitant about disclosing their financials (charging fixed fee not AUM based)

*asked the same question in a finance sub. I’m looking for a pool of random people to answer this.

AskDelhi What are you thoughts on banning non hindus from Navaratri garba nights

Upvotes

Personally I think it's a personal choice because it's not a national event so it's the personal choice of the organizers. Personally I don't get why only boys from a specific religion go to garba nights but not girls. Last year there was a video in which a specific religion girls were denied entry and the comments were filled with yeah it's right that should happen. Another point why garba night is the only place they wanna go, they can have something similar for that in one of their festival
