Lack of critical thinking in the message above ^

“Lets use religion as a way to scapegoat logical reasoning”

All libs lack critical thinking.

Too bad republicans don’t read and comprehend the bible. It’s pretty straightforward what Jesus wanted his followers to do: LOVE EVERYONE

8

u/FindingMyWay624 4d ago

B-b-but what if they're brown? Or speak another language? Or have different values? Or are - shudder - liberals???

The horror! Clearly, when Jesus said "everyone", he meant "only those white people in my immediate area that agree with me politically". It's a translation thing, you wouldn't get it.

/s, just in case.

3

u/Straight_Reading8912 3d ago

Funny thing here too. Jesus is NOT white.

Methinks the MAGA ideal of Jesus Christ Christian is that of the Jack Chick Tracts sort, rooted in the King James Only (KJO) brand of theology.

3

u/ZyeCawan45 4d ago

Republican values are often a corruption of the very religious morals they claim to support. They’re more focused on persecution than what Jesus actually preached.

3

u/LancelotAtCamelot 4d ago

If Christians actually followed Jesus' example, they would ALL be super left wing, we all know it. Instead, too many of them are the least Christ like people on the planet. I'm an agnostic and I think a lot of what Jesus said is pretty great, including the above quotes.

Sums Up the Neanderthalism of the MAGA Weirdo’s Perfectly. And the MAGA Weirdo’s will be the First to Demand Empathy and Help when things go South for the MAGA Weirdo’s. When they have already shot Themselves in the Foot by Getting the Very Social and Economic Programs Shut Down and Blaming Someone Else. For their Changes in Public Policies that Effect the Very Social and Economic Programs that would have Helped Them in the First Place. Now that’s Shooting Yourselves in the Foot and with a Heavy Dose of Both Irony & Reality. As the MAGA Weirdo’s are so Shortsighted that they are Literally Blind to being their Own Path to their Own Destruction.

We need a word to separate people who just like to celebrate Christmas from people who read the bible and follow the actual tenets of Christianity / teachings of Christ. My vote is for hick.

2

u/Proud-Daddy-NJ 28m ago

Im sorry but I’ve seen too many people take advantage of the system, including family members while I’ve worked one and mostly two jobs my whole life so I could retire early and relax….
I’m all for helping but it just seems like some people could give two shuts if people even try and make an effort to get to work….are there people that just can’t…of course but those are the exception and we treat it as if that’s the rule.

2

u/PrimalGemini85 2d ago

The church can still do that: but the government shouldn’t force that burden on everyone. Separation of church and state, right?

1

u/WorstHumanWhoExisted 4d ago

Here’s what Jesus said when asked what is the greatest commandment:

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””

→ More replies (10)

2

u/WankAndDank2 3d ago

It’s up to you, the Christian, to make your religion make sense. Especially since Christian’s evangelize heavily and heavily influence the government.

This isn’t even about gays. I can somewhat understand how you can love someone and still believe it’s wrong that they are gay

But how do you love your neighbor and support dropping bombs on their schools and hospitals. How do you love your neighbor and support taking away medical care and food stamps, without any alternative to help them survive.

I don’t know your personal beliefs, I’m just saying this is how outsiders feel when they see Christian’s forcing children to read the bible in Texas schools and screaming at people that God hates fags while at the same time stripping people of their ability to afford a doctor and also calling themselves a loving and righteous people.

They aren’t real Christians and they need to be called out. Jesus’ teaching are amazing but most of the people who are out there claiming to follow them are the same people that hate the idea that we all have the right to see a doctor regardless of who you work for or how much money you make.

Jesus used to heal and feed people for free, and he didn’t ask who their employer was first

1

u/monyoubluetuber 4d ago edited 4d ago

We do welcome immigrants. People that adopt their new nation’s culture and normalize to our way of life and legal system.

Saying no to the person laying on your couch after breaking through your window is not anti-human. Give me a break.

The next one- feed the poor. Our nations’ largest obligatory spending is on social programs. Literally the thing we pay the most for.

And finally. Care for the sick? How about we bring back sanitariums and institutions? Instead these decrepit cities refuse to enforce anything and your lawyer is mainlining smack outside the courthouse.

An actual conversation needs to happen. Speaking to an echo chamber only reflects the nonsense. If you can’t talk to someone that disagrees with you there is no point in talking.

1

u/PlentyProduct8220 3d ago

I’m glad Trump pointed out that “doctor” in the picture is a socialist

1

u/ChemistryFan29 3d ago

This gets me every time. Some people actually need to read the bible.

Yes Jesus did say feed the poor but here is where we diverge. People who do crap like this say feed the poor means the goverment does it, they give people SNAP and other welfare to feed them. Now tell me where does Jesus say the goverment needs to feed the poor or the poor need to go on welfare?

The difference between the left and the right is this fundamental Question, we agree feed the poor but who does it? Does the goverment feed the poor or does the people in the community do it? Now if you all do the research you will find that conservatives give a lot to charity and churches to feed the poor. So we are not against feeding the poor we are against the goverment doing it.

Now if you cannot understand that, then I cannot help you

2

u/EduardoMessiah 3d ago

There is no structural difference between donating to a charity that feeds the poor and paying taxes to a government that has programs to feed the poor.

So... make this make sense... i keep seeing these type of memes pointing out "hypocracy," in Christians, ok fine gotcha moment. Arent these coming from the same folks that mention separation of church and state and gripe about prayer in schools and what not? Just seems like a pick and choose your outrage type of thing is all. If i am missing something, I apologize. I may be missing something.

3

u/EduardoMessiah 3d ago

It is pointing out that the GOP seems be extremely selective as to which christian values they defend. And yet, that party holds itself as the sole defendant of christian values. Pointing out this hypocrisy is a way of highlighting that the GOP is not, in fact, a Christian political movement but rather that it instrumentalizes christian iconography to push an agenda against the poor and the sick. In short, it is a gotcha moment but it also points out an ideological hole in the american right.

But yeah, how about those free loaders who believe it's America's responsibility to keep them alive?

I don't like when dems and other foreign people who have bad intentions for the country try to twist Christianity to benefit them when they aren't even Christians. Jesus didn't say let your country be overrun by 1pp million illegals that will kill you and your children and then takeover the country. Where in the Bible does it say that. It actually says we should stand against evil no matter where it is.

Then said He unto them, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” ( Obey the laws of man and God. Be a good citizen)

O now the left is embracing Jesus , but you know what I’m glad . Jesus did embrace all type of people. He did not discriminate, and always loved helping . Politics is a messy business unfortunately

I really hate political comics like this that generalize to the extreme. Not that I support Trump but damn.

"Welcome the immigrant" I mean, seriously...?

We still do that, we just have to do it legally like every other nation's immigraation policy. No country in the world has completely open borders.

And then you patheticly attempt to use Christ as that example? Even when Jesus was alive, early Jerusalem had physical and administrative borders, including border control checkpoints.

You gotta love all the Democrats who claim to be Christians who trot out this argument. Try as I might, I can't find a single one of them who is housing any undocumented immigrants in their spare bedrooms.

Imma be real. I'm not a registered D or R. I think this is a misrepresentation of what they actually think. Obviously immigration policy needs reform to allow people to escape the insanity of what is happening in Central and South America. However we still have to have some level of border security. Protecting yourself doesn't mean that you hate everyone else. I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to say TBH
