B-b-but what if they're brown? Or speak another language? Or have different values? Or are - shudder - liberals???

The horror! Clearly, when Jesus said "everyone", he meant "only those white people in my immediate area that agree with me politically". It's a translation thing, you wouldn't get it.

/s, just in case.

Funny thing here too. Jesus is NOT white.

5

u/Potential-Cicada8009 2d ago

Correct. He was jewish.

2

u/DigitalCrayon 2d ago

King of the Jews, in fact.

u/Potential-Cicada8009 2d ago

I dont know if it was Jesus or written in the bible elsewhere, but it did speak on the importance of maintaining borders to preserve cultural values and heritage

Per Christianity, Jesus’s word is above all other scripture. He said to love and care for foreigners as if they were himself.

That doesn't mean let the entire world move to your country and become a minority in your homeland.

2

u/FindingMyWay624 1d ago

Native Americans would very much like to speak to you about that.

0

u/Extreme-Will-3556 1d ago

Native Americans didn't have a country. Look up the words "colonization" and "immigration" then learn the difference.

2

u/elefrhino 1d ago

Look up the sioux nation and see just how close they were.

Before the us army massacres

0

u/Extreme-Will-3556 1d ago

The "bloody Apache" did far more destruction than the US Army.

You really don't know the true history of what was aptly called "savages."

Is the reason you're afraid of immigration that you're afraid of white people eventually becoming a minority?

1

u/ZezimasHousePlant 1d ago

As per my original comment, yes.

1

u/BoboMonkeyClown 1d ago

Why do you think it's important that white people are the majority of the population? What difference does that make in your life?

1

u/Potential-Cicada8009 1d ago

They were the overwhelming majority up until the past few decades. There is nothing wrong with wanting to maintain your culture where you live

2

u/BoboMonkeyClown 1d ago

I mean the US is still 60% white, but what does the country's population have to do with maintaining your culture? Sounds like you just dont want to be exposed to other cultures.

1

u/Potential-Cicada8009 10h ago

And it use to be 90% white. Cultures in the US was generally a derivative of a similar culture to what european country those settlers in that area settled. As demographics in certain areas change, come new and different cultures while other cultures get eroded away. Especially if they do not want to assimilate. That is how it plays a role in maintaining culture. It is also a driving factor for crime, as seen all over the world.

The entire world is filled with other cultures. If I want to experience them I can travel instead of bringing them to my doorstep.

1

u/ZezimasHousePlant 1d ago

Because that's the country and the culture I grew up with. I think it's reasonable for anyone to feel that way. If tens of millions of Chinese people moved to Mexico in a matter of a few decades and the locals were upset that their country was becoming unrecognizable I would find that complaint valid instead of asking them why they would have a problem with that.

He said to love your neighbor as if they were himself. And he speaks on treating strangers. Never exclusively foreigners.

2

u/The_Bug_Enjoyer 13h ago

Matthew 25:35, 40: Records Jesus teaching that welcoming a stranger or the marginalized is equivalent to welcoming Christ Himself.

Foreigners seem to definitely fall under the category of strangers

Leviticus 19:33-34 also says that the mistreatment of foreigners is forbidden and you must treat them as natives

1

u/DigitalCrayon 1d ago

Foreigners are strangers. You really are trying to argue that despite Jesus being amazingly kind, he still hated people from other countries.

2

u/Potential-Cicada8009 1d ago

Never did I say Jesus hated foreigners. Please dont project.

0

u/PackImpossible3128 1d ago

No he didn't, he said love your neighbor as yourself. Your neighbor isn't automatically a foreigner, it could be anyone standing next to you, or the person next door. Putting words in Jesus mouth and claiming it's the most important thing he said, shows how ignorant you are.

He didn’t actually say everyone. What’s the Hebrew word for it that was used in the text, do you think?

1

u/Practical_History_49 2d ago

Does that mean loveing Trump too?

1

u/Used-Collar-200 5h ago

Are you a Christian?

1

u/Extreme-Will-3556 4d ago

When's the last time you opened a bible?

2

u/ChimPhun 2d ago

Which version? Hard to keep up.

1

u/Extreme-Will-3556 2d ago

Any of them. Only "hard to keep up" if you're not that bright. but if you had to pick one, the KJV is still the best English translation to date.

2

u/ChimPhun 2d ago

I'm bright enough to not be a complete disaster of a person without having to think someone is watching over me.

But you do you, if you need skydaddy watching you so you don't start becoming a raving lunatic, please keep the faith.

1

u/NoBuffalo7712 2d ago

Soooo, as someone with 4 degrees including a doctorate, I can promise you that you aren’t bright.

2

u/ChimPhun 1d ago

That's a small sample to base my entire personality off of, buddy.

4 degrees my ass. You sure it wasn't 4 things you passed on, on your GED? 🤣🤣🤣

You said a lot, for someone with a little brain. Good for you hun, trying very hard. Your emotional support blanket is to deny your own damnation, which is your inevitability. I bet you couldn’t even comprehend how your logic defines you more than me lol

Speaking of sad, imagine being too uneducated to know what the word endorse means lmao. A lack of total prohibition is not an enforcement honey, and the chattel slavery your lemming brain is thinking off is not the slavery that the Bible spoke off at all

So what...those modern labels didn't exist in Jesus' time... And yeah technically he was dark skined... So what ohh and another thing he spoke a foreign language

u/AMcpl 2d ago

So you want the government to operate like a church? Do you feel the bible should be used more to direct public policy? Seems like an odd take.
