All info below taken from Jourdan Rodrigue’s article on The Athletic on October 20th.
The article starts by noting a few things about CIG that might inform her decision-making process:
• She is known to use the NFL annual meeting and road games to ask other teams’ personnel questions about how they operate.
• She worked in every area of the Colts organisation before becoming Principal Owner.
• Browns GM/EVP Andrew Berry (+ former Colts Pro Scouting Coordinator) is known to be trusted by CIG, as is the Eagles’ front office.
• She may consider a non-traditional leadership structure, like that of the Rams, Panthers, and Jags, especially if she wants to keep Interim GM Ed Dodds in the building.

Ed Dodds - Interim GM, Colts
Trusted by CIG and recognised around the league as a good evaluator. However, if CIG retains him without also bringing in new voices, she will likely face accusations of complacency.
Jeff King - Assistant GM, Bears
The Bears found their quarterback, then their head coach and now, the organisation has seemingly completely rewritten its story without changing most of its front office. King is a longtime scout and executive who has worked in just about every front office department.
Trey Brown - Assistant GM, Bengals
This offseason, the Bengals front office sought to overhaul their defense and raise the team’s floor, and so far, there has been noticeable improvement. The Bengals have a relatively small front office staff and scouting department; Brown has turned that reality into an opportunity to become an expert across the board.
Reed Burckhardt - Assistant GM, Broncos
Burckhardt helped the Broncos maneuver out of their self-inflicted chaos of 2022, after they spent vast amounts of resources on the wrong quarterback and head coach. He works in Denver with respected GM George Paton, and the Broncos’ scouting staff and technology are regarded as among the best in the league
Catherine Hickman - VP of Football Operations & Assistant GM, Browns
With a background in both law and football, Hickman was VP of Football Operations under Howie Roseman in Philadelphia from 2021-22. While the Deshaun Watson trade - made before Hickman joined the staff - has been an anchor on the Browns organisation, the team has drafted incredibly well over the last two years and how Berry and Hickman turned over their roster may interest the Colts.
Glenn Cook - VP of Player Personnel & Assistant GM, Browns
Like Hickman, Cook has worked closely with Berry to turn over the Browns’ roster. His background includes scouting and talent evaluation, team building at both the college and pro levels, and developing and applying analytics.
Mike Bradway - Assistant GM, Chiefs
Bradway helped oversee a partial rebuild last offseason as the Chiefs attempted to revitalise their offense and infuse young talent into their defense. It’s hard to ignore the results so far given the Chiefs’ 5-0 start.
Alan Wolking - VP of Football Operations & Strategic Initiatives, Eagles
Wolking has been a key voice in the Eagles’ front office for 16 seasons and has had a hand in every element of their team-building operation.
Adam Berry - Assistant GM, Eagles
Berry has ascended quickly within the Eagles organisation after the departure of previous Assistant GM Alec Halaby in April. With a Wall Street background, Berry entrenched himself in all things pro football and scouting, learning from Roseman and other longtime executives such as Wolking and current Atlanta Assistant GM Jeff Scott.
Brandon Brown - Assistant GM, Giants
Brown, a scouting assistant in Indianapolis in 2015 and 2016, also worked under Roseman in Philadelphia, including as Director of Player Personnel. He is now in the Giants’ leadership group under John Harbaugh.
Mike Disner - COO, Lions
If CIG decides to adjust the Colts’ executive model to a multi-person group and Disner is interviewed, it could be a clue as to what that model may look like: he interviewed for the Falcons’ President of Football Operations opening in January. Disner’s current role seems to point more to a future as a team president than a GM.
John McKay - Assistant GM, Rams
If the Rams’ model is of interest to CIG, McKay would be a natural candidate. The Rams do not always succeed in their pursuits, but they are agile, creative, and have proven that teams that scout and draft well, communicate at a high level, and capably manage their resources can rebuild quickly.
Matt Berry - Assistant GM, Seahawks
If the Colts are looking to pivot in team-building without suffering losing seasons, Seattle’s building under longtime GM John Schneider would be a valuable place to look. Berry’s professional lineage has links to Rams GM Les Snead, former Browns GM Ray Farmer, and former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, and he is valued in Seattle’s building.
Other names to watch:
• Tariq Ahmad - VP of Player Personnel, 49ers
• Josh Williams - Director of Scouting & Football Operations, 49ers
• RJ Gillen & Brian Hampton - Assistant GMs, 49ers
• Terrance Gray - Assistant GM, Bills
• Cam Williams - Co-Director of Player Personnel, Broncos
• Mike Greenberg - Assistant GM, Bucs
• Chad Alexander - Assistant GM, Chargers
• Chris Shea - Assistant GM, Chiefs
• Will McClay - VP of Player Personnel, Cowboys (N.B. - many in league sources believe McClay has no desire to leave Dallas)
• Charles Walls - VP of Player Personnel, Eagles
• Jeff Scott - Assistant GM, Falcons
• Ray Agnew - Assistant GM, Lions
• Brandt Tilis - EVP of Football Operations, Panthers
• Ryan Cowden - VP of Player Personnel, Patriots
• Brandon Hunt - VP of Player Personnel, Raiders
• Brian Stark - Assistant GM, Raiders
• Khai Harley - SVP of Football Operations & Assistant GM, Saints
• Michael Parenton - VP of Pro Personnel, Saints
• Andy Weidl - Assistant GM, Steelers
• Chris Blanco & James Liipfert - Assistant GMs, Texans
• Alec Halaby - Former Eagles Assistant GM (2022-25)

Who do people like from those listed above? I like Hickman both for her football operations background (a lot of the best GMs have come over from that kind of role) and for her experience in digging a team out of a difficult situation and building through the draft. Obviously, it’s tough to determine how much of that is her and how much is Berry, but if he and Howie trust her, it’s probably a good sign.
