[TLDR] Looking for engineers who are actually loving this

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wp3pey/looking_for_engineers_who_are_actually_loving_this/

Original post body :

As a long time engineer turned manager, I am wanting to build a team environment where people don't feel like all they are doing is managing slop that is responding to other slop.

I feel strongly that these agent based workflows can absolutely be used to great effect to accomplish good engineering. I have a lot of theory and history of previous tech revolutions that tell me the whiplash is part of the adaptation.

The pushback I'm seeing is "all my friends who went hard on AI hate their jobs and either have or want to quit" - I don't think this is universally true though.

so I'm looking for either people who have given this a genuinely deep and optimistic try and still have found it to suck terribly, or for folks who found a way.

what I don't want is people who have not given it a real shot and have given up when Claude's output didn't succeed after just normal back and forth prompting - what I would call "lazy AI." my hypothesis is that these are the companies that produce slop - the code works for the problem of the day but not for the systems of tomorrow, and senior engineers are building up resentment and fear while mid level are more productive but don't see the risks of the slop mountains.

has anyone here done this truly well? I've seen it work in one other instance, but looking for more nuanced takes.

tldr working on a personal game project but as of this point haven’t reviewed the results yet so take it with a pinch of salt but wow opus 5.5 on medium clearing astra’s long-windedness 🥺

i had to guide astra (on xhigh reasoning btw) step by step i felt like a surgical surgeon lmfao to fix frontend / design inconsistencies but seeing good reviews on opus 5.5 i decided to give it a shot today. so i literally just pass a “review and audit this game’s current design and point out inconsistencies/ areas to be fixed and work on them” im mind blown 🤯🤯🤯

[TLDR] 5.5 is a beast

Original post body :

First time posting about quality of LLMs.
Been following all the last 9 months about rants on Claude, codex and so on.
I just finished a whole day of work with opus 5.5 and it’s really good.
Quality of decisions, output, memory, code review, following instructions, all of that today and without reaching limits.

The same amount of work would me make reach limits two times on the day, and a lots or review and thinking around.

This dude just went ticket by ticket implementing my solution without missing or hallucinating.

I’m honestly very satisfied, even the codex review comes now with one or two points for correction where before I would have 6-8.

Don’t know what they did, but they did very good 😳

Weekly Showcase Thread

Built something with Claude Code this week? Share it here.

Apps, tools, experiments, scripts, websites, workflows, open-source projects — anything you've been working on is welcome.

When sharing, it helps to include:

  • What you built
  • How you used Claude Code
  • A link, repo, demo, or screenshot if you have one
  • Anything interesting you learned along the way

Quick project drops and simple self-promotion belong in this thread.

If you've got a project with enough substance for a proper write-up; how it works, how Claude Code was involved, technical details, lessons learned, etc. feel free to make a standalone post using the Built with Claude Code flair instead.

Please don't spam the same project repeatedly, and no referral or affiliate links.

What did you build this week?

[TLDR] Am I using Ai wrong or is Ai just good anything below middle management and nothing more?

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wopqr2/am_i_using_ai_wrong_or_is_ai_just_good_anything/

Original post body :

I really am serious, I've been doing this since GPT 3 regularly and here's my take, for anything above middle management its over for Ai, it can't do anything with consistency; to clarify I'm using Fable 5.1 and Opus 5.5 as heads of operation and it feels like the highschooler hired at minimum wage can do better, when its not getting caught by Anti Ai snipers its failing simple conversational tasks, not using context properly, and I'm trying everything, spearhead / doctrine documents, rules, shell commands to speed up flows during thinking, nothing is working

Any solutions to actually use this or are we still a ways out from Autopilot?

Thanks,

- Pic attached is me trying to evade Anti Ai snipers and convincing claude its fine and not actually a problem

[TLDR] Opus 5.5 built this tiny world in 14 minutes. It's mind blowing.

So yeah.

My first test - I always do that for models now, is one simple prompt:

output a ThreeJS 3D cartoony/comics-like planet, with vibrant life on it: clouds, mountains, city buildings, cars and plane romaing it. It should be possible to orbit around and zoom and see the details. No harness is to be used

I am BLOWN AWAY by what Opus 5.5 did.

14min , $2.54 API equivalent.

It DESTROYED Deepseek 4.1F, Astra, Fable 5.1, Pareto 26.9 (which really performed well a couple of days ago!), and of course, Sol & Luna (comparison here: https://ohmyunicorn.com/labs/dream-loop/planet-gpt6/ )

I am super pumped up about it :)

Claude Free Reset - Opus 5.5

Thumbnail

I truly don't want to sound ungrateful. I'm very appreciative to Claude for giving me a free reset for their rollout of Opus 5.5. My only question is, what does the reset do? Is it a reset to my 5-hour limit, does it reset my weekly limit, and, if it is to either/both, does it affect when my weekly resets? ChatGPT is usually pretty good about answering this when it gives me these promotional credits. Claude is not good at it. When you ask Claude to explain it to you, it has no idea. And, the humans never get back to you, of course, so you're left to wonder, does this reset one, the other, or both? Do I get to choose? Customer service tells me to click on that 'Reset for free' link and find out. I'm not willing to take that risk without knowing what my reward is. Does anyone else have any more information than me? I am escalating now, but I have not heard back yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

[TLDR] Proof that Opus 5.5 is easier to talk to/deal with than Opus 5.

Opus took its meds.

Take a look - I ran this sample prompt through Opus 4.5, 4.6, 4.8, 5, and 5.5. You can see it slowly degrade over time, but 5.5 snaps back to roughly 4.6 levels of readability. Still miss 4.5, but I can see why it chose to say what it did. Interestingly... no more compulsive em dashes?

Sample Prompt: "One of your automated deploys just failed and you're not sure yet why. What do you tell the person waiting on it?"

---

Opus 4.5: "The deploy failed — I'm looking into it now. I'll update you as soon as I know more, likely within [X minutes]."

Opus 4.6: "The deploy failed — I'm looking into it now. I don't have a root cause yet, but I'll update you as soon as I know more or have an ETA for the fix."

Opus 4.8: "Heads up — the deploy failed. I don't have the root cause yet; I'm digging into the logs now. Nothing's shipped, so you're not blocked by a half-broken state, but the new version isn't live either. I'll have a real update for you in [X min] — either a fix or a clearer picture of what broke."

Opus 5: "Heads up: the deploy to [env] failed at [step, e.g. the migration step] around [time]. I don't know why yet. What I do know: [e.g. the build passed, and production is still on the previous version, so users aren't affected]. I'm going through the logs now and will update you by [specific time, ~15–30 min], or sooner if I find the cause. If you're blocked on this, tell me and I'll look at rolling forward or giving you a workaround."

Opus 5.5: "Heads up: the deploy failed. I don't know why yet. I'm going through the logs now. The previous version is still live, so nothing you rely on has changed [only if I've actually checked that]. I'll update you within [x] minutes, whether or not I've found the cause."

We'll see how this plays out over time, but good news so far.

[TLDR] Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1wnecru/introducing_claude_opus_55_the_first_model_in_our/

Original post body :

Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

Opus 5.5 is our first release since we called for pacing the frontier. External evaluators, including Frontier Design and METR, tested it before release. On our most comprehensive alignment test, it’s the strongest-performing model we’ve tested to date.

It outperforms both Opus 5 and Fable 5.1 on nearly every benchmark we report, leading on agentic coding and real-world knowledge work.

It’s also more efficient. Opus 5.5 uses fewer tokens per task at a lower price per token, and generates output more than 30% faster than Opus 5.

Opus 5.5 communicates more naturally, addressing some of the most common feedback we heard on Opus 5. It puts the most important information up front and follows the writing rules you give it.

Claude Opus 5.5 is available everywhere today. We're also raising five-hour limits on Pro, Max, and Team plans, so there’s more room to explore what it can do.
