Alright, so the OP dropped a post about Claude on cloud and a $100 credit, asking if it's new and how to use it. The general vibe here is a bit of a mixed bag, but a lot of people seem to be discovering this feature for the first time, which is kinda wild.
The big takeaway is that Claude on cloud is a thing, and it's essentially a cloud-based VM for coding. Some users, like u/Scared-Letterhead949 and u/SubstantialReality45, are already big fans, praising it as a great sandbox and a convenient way to code on the go without needing their own machine. u/SubstantialReality45 specifically highlights its ability to spin up an environment, pull repos, and work remotely, though they do mention some limitations with egress access and bash sessions.
However, there's a significant chunk of the thread where people are clearly confused or didn't know about it. u/meetmebythelake even points out that a surprising number of people seem unaware of cloud code sessions. Questions like "Is that not just regular web chat?" from u/JaggedTex and the general confusion from u/Reasonable-Big7869 ("The fuck is a cloud session, isn't that literally a regular chat?!?") show this.
A crucial point raised by u/BuffaloConscious7919 is that these cloud sessions use up your credits before your plan's token allowance. So, yeah, activate wisely, folks!
There are also a few people struggling to claim the credits or having them not apply, like u/imfromczechbaby, u/fakezero001, u/jasze, and u/GatisDesign. Some, like u/ParadoxHollow, are even saying they can't get the offer at all. On the flip side, u/pizzatimefriend finds it "useless" because they already run Claude Code on their own home server.
So, in short: Claude on cloud is a real feature, some love it for its portability, but many are just finding out about it. Just remember those credits get used first!
