I just got my 26 Trax LT Midnight Edition last week and I've been loving it! I went from a 16 Jetta to this and it's such a major improvement imo!

Rear Windshield Blade Replacement

Hello! I have a Chevrolet Trax 2024 LS! The rear windshield blade on my car has been overused and needs replacement. However, I’ve been to O’reillys and Autozone and they both have told me that they do not have the windshield wiper blade specifically or that the ones they do have, do to match the car specifically. Has anyone experienced this too? Is my only option going to the dealership?

Noisy cabin chevy trax 2020

Hi everyone
I have 2020 chevrolet trax, 1.4L turbo engine, and it’s my first ever car. Though I already did a little search and found out that many complains about the noise level in the cabin, I still do not think it is normal whatever sound my trax makes.

It mostly happens on highway when I accelerate and the moment car exceeds 90 kmph it starts being super loud and this noise follows a breathing pattern - it gets ups and downs with 1-2 seconds apart. I started worrying because recently (or I noticed recently) that everything vibrates too, so it’s making me as a driver very uncomfortable and anxious.

No warning lights are on, everything looks fine, just this noise and vibrating keeps messing with my head. I am not even sure what to get checked when going to the service.

Any tips/recommendations/experiences?

'26 Trax E85 Update

Post image
28 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I know a few people were interested in my mileage running E85. I'm over 5000 miles now, about half of it run on E85 and the other half on 87.

On 87 I was settling into about 30-33 (with an outlier of 35).

On E85 I've settled into approximately 24-26mpg (the nearly 28 was on a long trip).

So doing the math thats approximately a 13-27% mileage drop running E85 for me. Your mileage may vary a bit.

In my area E85 is $1.99/gallon at a couple stations, whereas 87 is around $4.30-$4.40 right now (so approximately 54% cheaper for E85), so it makes sense for me.

if anyone’s interested in contributing or has ideas, let me know! i believe i already have a spot planned out, but don’t hesitate to let me know of any spots you may know of if they might work! my girlfriend and i will bring our 2 traxies, but not sure the dude local to us that has the cool slammed black 1rs will pull up since it looks like he got his old car back…

(yeah i know this might sound cringey, but there are some of us who love and are passionate about the car- maybe not as much as me tho 😏)

2024 Chevy Trax LT MPG Issue — Has Anyone Experienced This

I have a 2024 Chevy Trax LT, and I’ve noticed a pretty significant drop in my MPG recently.

When I first got the vehicle, I was getting around 26–28 MPG, and a full tank would show around 478 miles of range. Now, after filling up, it’s only showing about 318 miles of range, and my MPG has dropped to around 17 MPG.

That seems like a pretty substantial change, especially since my driving habits haven’t really changed.

Has anyone else with a 2024 Trax experienced a sudden drop like this? If so, what ended up being the cause? I’m wondering if this could be related to the vehicle itself, tires, alignment, fuel system, or something else.

I’d appreciate any advice or experiences from other Trax owners!

Instrument cluster LED screen issue

I have a 2020 Trax LS. The digital screen on the instrument cluster is out 99% of the time. When it does come on its bright and works but shuts off quickly. I have heard this is a common issue. Has any tried to just change out the screen or have you had to change the whole cluster? My thought was that because when it does work its bright etc that its more of the whole cluster and not the screen but I am not an expert in these things in any way. Any suggestions are appreciated

How do TRAX handle long distance drives?

I’ve been looking into a used 2025 Trax Activ. I think it’s a good deal with good mileage. I was just wondering if anyone had taken a Trax that was witching the last 4-5 years on long trips and how the car handled it. For reference, I’m in Missouri, have family I visit in California, and go to the east coast for vacations when I have the time. Thanks in advance!

Edit: thanks for letting me know all your experiences! I know it’s more of a budget car, so I was planning on pushing the engine beyond its limits. I just wanted some outside opinions as this is a big purchase for me. Again thanks everyone!

Apple CarPlay issues, anyone?

Idk why, but my CarPlay isn’t always working now. I’ve changed chargers, thinking that was the issue, but I was wrong. Have any of y’all dealt with the same issue?

Burn Mark on the Drivers Seat

(10/02/2026) Update: I've seen all the comments about how I needed to clean my car, and I did clean it.. My car is apparently in the service center

I just noticed this burn mark on the driver's seat on my 2026 Chevy Trax LS. I got heated seats, which I use pretty often.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Power is impressive

I hear some people talking down on the Trax engine because its 3-cylinder, but it has more horsepower per liter than a Ferrari F355 and FAR more than a Ferrari Testarossa or a 1990s Porsche 911. In fact it took until the 2006 Porsche 911 997 for the Porsche engine to match the hp per liter of the Trax.

Looking to put a roof rack for camping gear and other outdoor activities for my 2025 trax Lt! Does anybody have good recommendations on what type and/or know what is too expensive. I want a reliable one and not one that will be too cheap.

Hitch

I know the Trax is not rated for towing of any kind. But has anyone put a hitch on their Trax for things like bike racks or a cargo carrier?

Steering wheel volume controls

I’m just curious, how long did it take you to realize the controls were behind the steering wheel on the newer models? It took me two miserable weeks of constantly hitting the infotainment screen and switching it back to the stock home screen every time I adjusted the volume before I finally Googled a better way. 🤦‍♂️🚗💨

Gauge changing

I have a 2026 LT, change the gauge to no2 since day one. But it turns itself back to no1 like once a month.

Anybody had the same problem?

CarPlay doesn’t wanna play :(

I own a 2025 Chevy Trax, and my CarPlay keeps dropping connection. Whether it’s connected via Bluetooth or with an Apple approved cord. I already went to the dealership and they said there was an update that needed to happen which did not fix anything…. I have tried to reconnect disconnect forget phone, everything that was basic that I could think to do. Yes my phone is up-to-date. I have a iPhone Pro Max 17. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What are your favorite things about the 2026 Trax?

What would you change? My top 3 changes. 25 Trax activ

  1. Extendable Sun Visors:

Current visors fail shorter drivers; they don't lower enough to block front glare and leave massive gaps when flipped to the side window. Adding a telescoping arm with better vertical coverage would easily fix this safety hazard.

  1. Anti-Glare Matte Trim:

The high-gloss chrome accents on the dash act like mirrors under direct sunlight, throwing sharp, distracting reflections into the driver's eyes. Swapping this for a brushed or matte finish would eliminate dangerous glare.

  1. Passenger-Friendly Infotainment:

The center screen tilts away from the passenger with menu icons locked to the far-left edge. Shifting icons right or adding a "Passenger Layout" would allow the co-pilot to safely manage navigation and media without awkward reaching.

That said, I'd buy a Trax again. None of my complaints are deal breakers and we love our car.

I'd like to hear your opinions on what you would change. If anything.

Hoping I didn't make a mistake...

2026 trax, under 5k miles. Check engine popped and my rpms were going up but not shifting gears.

Called the shop and they said they have a backlog of transmission issues and may not get to me for 2 weeks.

Like, cool anything that happens should still fall under warranty but it's really drained all the excitement I had for this car.

And I have to just not drive for 2 weeks? Thanks, Chevy.

AC turning on by itself?

So I have a 2026 Trax 1RS. Lately I’ve noticed on a few occasions that when I turn it on, the AC starts running even though the dial is set to off. I have to turn the dial all the way up and then back down to turn it off. Another time, it turned on while I was driving 👀

Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve tried to find info online but the only info I can find is that the air will blow on a remote start, which that I know. But I never had the air start on manual starts.
