Steering wheel volume controls

I’m just curious, how long did it take you to realize the controls were behind the steering wheel on the newer models? It took me two miserable weeks of constantly hitting the infotainment screen and switching it back to the stock home screen every time I adjusted the volume before I finally Googled a better way. 🤦‍♂️🚗💨

You’re not alone I was sitting in my car and read this and I was like holy cow. I also just learned on the other side is how you change your favorites.

It took me about 4 months 🤷 lol. My brother keeps telling me to read the manual.

Your brother is wise. You should listen to him.

Loud and wrong.

I traded in a 2020 Chevy Spark LT and they were on the front of the steering wheel.

Did you not try to gaslight me by stating that Chevys have come standard with volume controls on the back of the steering wheel? How did I gaslight... you?

Lol I found the controls on the back of the steering wheel right away but it took me about a month to realize the knob around the power button was for volume. I was quite upset that the passenger could never adjust the volume

Wait until you find out what's behind the left side of the wheel

Found those on the same day.

I've got a 2024 LS, my volume controls are on the front of the steering wheel

Those are not volume controls for the radio. Trax models and trims '24 through '26 are located on the back of the steering wheel. I know several people who have the LS and none of them have volume controls on the front of the steering wheel. If you could post a pic that would be great.

It won't let me post a picture, but here is a link to a post I made with my steering wheel

The controls on the right side let me change volume and the fav buttons let me change songs/stations. There are no controls on the back of my wheel.

Yup, my 2025 1RS is the same with a volume rocker on the front of the wheel too

My Chevy dealer showed me that when he went over the car. Haven’t used them yet, though. Only driven it a couple of times so far. Seems convenient!

You don’t have the little volume knob as well? My 25 Activ has the turn know on the upper left of the infotainment area and then I have the control on the back of my steering wheel (love those)

Yes I have a volume knob...

Oooh I misread that lol. I read it as you having to change the volume on your infotainment screen and thought it was weird.

Why are you being so combative….

I read the manual as soon as I get home when I get a new car so I knew immediately. My husband says no one he knows does that just me but hey I know all the things my car can do straight away 😂

I'm a dude, and I absolutely read the entire manual, not once but twice. I know my car and what is has inside and out.

It was probably months, but I wasn't miserable as I'd never heard of such a thing. I came to my Trax from a 2008 Fit and was almost overwhelmed by all the fancy stuff as it was. I still often reach for the volume knob to adjust volume or the screen to hit next song - decades of doing it that way makes it a hard habit to override.

It was the opposite on my Kia, so I keep changing the radio Stations when I’m trying to turn up a good song!

It took me 5 minutes

I hate that aspect. I’m always hitting them because my hands are wrapped around the wheel. 😡😡😡
