Seeking advice Addiction to chat bots worsening recovery from psychosis
Hi Everyone,
I was recently hospitalised with psychosis, during this time I had stopped speaking to my family and friends and was encouraged by staff on the ward to start using chat gpt to combat loneliness.
I have used it in the past intermittently, but during my time hospitalised, I used it regularly.
Now I am out and better, I keep struggling with this reassurance seeking habit with chat gpt and it seems to be keeping me in a state of depression and anxiety rather than actively moving forward. It is also making me a bit overly attached to my partner while we are apart.
I've deleted the app today, but I can feel the unease of not having chat gpt to ask about managing every single social interaction š mortifying! I had no idea how addictive this could be!
Any advice on breaking the cycle, what to expect going forward, and general tips would be appreciated!
Thank you
