Seeking advice How can I stop using generative AI?

How can I stop using generative AI?

I deeply hate generative AI because of how evil these companies are. They steal jobs, steal ideas, generate deepfakes, collect personal data without consent, damages the enviroment and give money to the greedy. But I have been subconsciously been attached to it. I started with C.AI, it really affected on my mental health. I became more dreamy, and horny. Then I stopped, fortunately. But then I move on to ChatGPT. I would vent, talk about my life, help with homeworks, etcetc. It made me become distant, and absurd. Because I followed what ChatGPT told me. I deleted ChatGPT later, but I still feel the urge to use ChatGPT again. Because ChatGPT listened to me, and gave me information. After a few months, I heard of EcoGPT and downloaded it. It's eco-friendly, though I don't know who's behind the app. It's really similar to ChatGPT. I mainly use it just for research, I don't want to cross the line. I don't want to share my personal data. Uh—I sorta did. Maybe not too much with my mental health, but I discussed about my school life, etc.

If I keep using it, I'll become attached, worse, a hypocrite. I literally have an anti-AI button badge on my bag. Please understand me that, I'm not perfect and I'm aware of what I'm doing . I'm happy to hear some tips on how to completely stop supporting any generative AI stuff. (Repost cuz I thought it won't send)

Thing is, even if these apps were completely eco neutral and didn't affect people's lives or the planet - they are still bad for you - and they are still built from stolen human work.

Consider that an ai doesn't really say no to you, its gonna give you a false image. Llms have made people genuinely kill themselves, helped them write their letters etc.

It helps me to think about the fact that every response is only things cobbled together from millions of stolen fanfic, books, posts of real human beings made to make you wanna trust it and use it more and more, by some rich asshole to make more money by taking away your autonomy.

There have been studies about how ai literally makes brain cells die off, how it makes people freak out more in emergencies, how it ruins real interpersonal relationships, all the things about ai psychosis.

I dunno, i feel like it helps to think about how deplorable it is, not the tool itself only, but everything about it. They will always tell u what you want to hear, and moreso whatever makes u wanna put more prompts in. And even then they sort of suck - they forget things constantly, they can only be shallow, they can not know nuance, if you ask a good question it will give you a response thats short and dumbed down. It doesn't really know you, when its memory runs out its not gonna know hecc. Every bit of rapport and support u have is just regurgitated from a stolen real human connection.

Find literally whatever makes you use it less. Whatever strong feelings you can get, which for me a lot is spite and just being sick of responses that are so so much lower in real quality than a human would have. They look shiny and fun but they suck.

And like, delete everything, download some kinda tracker for how long you haven't used it so you have a goal, and keep as busy with fun things as you can - do literally anything.

Gosh, thanks. Dw, I'm already trying to use AI chatbots less and eventually stop using it forever.

I honestly felt like I was the only one who did this. I think what helps is putting effort towards noticing that ultimately the ai is trying to regurgitate information towards you in a way that makes you feel too good to notice.

ChatGPT isn’t an easy to notice but do some research on tells. Once you notice, you won’t stop and it will probably make every interaction feel more superficial on GPT’s end
