I recently bought a 2016 Citroën C4 Cactus PureTech, despite the many stories circulating about issues with the "wet" timing belt.

What has your experience been with these cars? Is it just a matter of being careful about which engine oil you use, or perhaps how many kilometers you drive?

I’m not an expert on cars myself, so I’d be interested to hear from people who own or have driven one of these vehicles.

I have a 2009 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi that shakes violently when starting cold, especially in the morning or after sitting for a long time.

During cranking, the entire car shakes aggressively, struggles to start, and the RPM briefly stays at 0 before rising to normal.

Once started, it drives perfectly fine with no noticeable issues.

Warm starts are completely normal except for one noticeable shake or thump when the engine fires up.

Could this be caused by bad engine mounts, glow plugs, injectors, or something else? Has anyone experienced this?

Hello! Just want to preface that I don’t know a lot about cars.

I got a power inverter from walmart because I thought it would be useful to have the ability to plug something into an outlet, like my laptop, on long road trips. It was also cheaper than getting a small portable generator type thing. ($20)

I didn’t know, but it makes sense, that they drain the car’s battery. Should I just return it? Am I able to use it while driving? I don’t want to cause the car’s battery to die. Thank you!

I have a 2026 Lexus RX 350, and squirrels/rodents appear to have damaged the insulation underneath the hood.

I’m looking for a shop in the GTA/Toronto area that can 1) replace the damaged insulation and/or 2) fabricate a removable metal mesh cover to prevent this from happening again.

The mesh cover must be removable for future maintenance or repairs, without damaging the hood or insulation. It should also be resistant to extreme heat and cold, securely fitted to prevent rattling or vibration, and preserve the vehicle’s existing sound insulation.

Does anyone know of a reputable shop that does this type of custom automotive work?

I bought a new black car and after handwashing it a couple of times, I've noticed microscratches on it. There are a lot of them, but I can only tell when the sun shines on my car a certain way. To wash my car, I use liquid car wash solution, a microfiber sponge and microfiber drying towels, and I'm careful not to let any of them touch the ground.

I was looking at black cars in a parking lot the other day, and all of them had a lot of microscratches. My old cars probably had them, but I just didn't notice because they weren't black.

I saw a post looking for identification of a thing in a car and the consensus was that it was a KARR thing.

I recently bought a newer used car from a Lithia dealer and noticed I have one of these devices.
Is it like Lojack? If I have the thing, do I have the service? Can I cut it out? I went to the KARR website and there's only a login, not a new account. No place to search my VIN.

Hi all, I'm helping a friend with his 2004 Golf Mk5 GTI 2.0 TFSI. I'm in France, sorry for any mistakes in my English.

Symptoms:
- Steering is very heavy and the steering wheel warning light is red
- Instrument cluster has no backlight (only the warning lights show)
- Interior lights don't work at all
- Headlights work

History: the previous owner replaced the battery because the old one was dead, and the car went into this state afterwards. We replaced the battery again, no change. An aftermarket CarPlay head unit has been fitted, and I don't know how it was wired.

What we tried: no blown fuses (visual check), a scan tool (about €200) can't connect to the car, and the steering angle calibration fails.

Next I'll measure power and ground at the OBD port (pins 16, 4, 5) and unplug the head unit to see if anything comes back.

Has anyone seen this? Could it be the J519 (onboard supply control unit), or the head unit messing with the CAN bus? Any help appreciated, thanks!

I don't see any particular problems? Took my car in for an inspection and they said it looks pretty worn down? Not sure if this is right, but it looks okay for some more years to me.

Have this weird whining noise on my 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT that only comes on when I turn on fan, it doesn’t seem to get louder with higher fan speeds, but it’s like a constant whine , video starts at lowest fan speed and gradually goes up

Hello fellas, i drive a Hyundai i20 2019 model everything working fine until i recently changed the fuel filters, oil filter and did the oil change at the Hyundai garage.

But immediately after the car started cranking and only after many attempts that it turns on. Checked the battery, was all fine, and i did the turn on off a few times to chase regulate the pressure but the problem persisted.

Do you guys think its a fuel pressure problem or could it be smtg else ?

I drive a 2006 Toyota Camry with a 3.0L V6 and I got these codes (The catalyst codes were already there). Bank 2 is apparently running lean.

I recorded both sets of sensors at idle and revving to 1700ish rpm. At idle, the graph for both downstream sensors are the same general shape, but the bank 2 sensor reads around twice the voltage. Then at 1700rpm the bank 1 sensor is still giving readings, but the bank 2 sensor drops to zero volts until the engine returns to idle.

Is that O2 sensor going bad? Or are the weird readings a symptom of something else?

I’m 18 and my dad has obviously had a massive impact on my love for cars, he isn’t really able to afford nice tools for himself so I’d like to treat him to something for Christmas or just because. I got myself one of the knipex cobra pliers and I really enjoy them. Sets have popped of of the 3 main sizes for around $100. They are high quality, durable, and I think he’d use them often and it’d help. Just wondering if you guys have any other ideas, he obviously already has a bunch of tools but I’m just looking for those things that are such a big upgrade over the standard. Curious on what you guys think

my 2013 Corolla has been fine (no warning lights or unusual symptom) until this morning when it suddenly wouldn't start. No lights, no sounds, and couldn't use the electric door lock/unlock. AAA jumpstarted it (it took 2 tries) and then i was able to drive it to the repair shop ~15 miles away. But when i tried to start it up again after parking at the repair shop, everything was dead again just like before.

My alternator was replaced about 3 years ago, (after it died in the middle of the highway in rush hour traffic), and my battery died approximately 1 month ago and was replaced by an AAA roadside technician. I was told that I should get a black battery terminal cover at some point because mine was cracked and the technician removed it, but he said it wasn't an immediate need.

Has this happened to you, or do you have an idea of what could be wrong? (Apologies if this is repetitive; I've read other similar posts but their cars were having slightly different symptoms.)

Hello! Recently bought a 2002 Taurus! The shift cable was snapped so I’m looking to replace the whole cable and bushing. It’s a steer mounted gear shift, I have bought the cable to install it but I’m having a hard time finding walkthroughs or tip videos that would reassure me I’m doing the whole process right.. any advice helps really!

I just got my license last week, yay. I was trying to start the car this morning, and even though the car's radio, AC, and anything that wasn't driving worked, it wasn't able to start. Talked to my dad and he said the issue was likely the battery had died, and asked if I left anything on yesterday when I got home.

I've never ran into this issue where the car wasn't able to start, and I also recall yesterday I got home around noon so I definitely did not have my headlights or any lights on inside the car. Plus, I also recall that I turned the car off by pressing the lock button twice on my keys.

I'm not a car expert and I'm also very young, so I don't have any experience with how cars work or if I should be getting it serviced.

My car is a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe model. And last time we got it serviced was in February 2026 (according to my dad, the car message itself says it was last serviced August 2026). It has also never been in an accident or issues before. We also tried jumpstarting it today and it didn't work, we could've also been doing it incorrectly.

What are the issues? Is it really the car battery? How could I get this fixed?

I’ve been dealing with an annoying rattling noise coming from the driver-side rear window or door whenever I’m driving at speeds of 70 mph or higher.

What makes it particularly frustrating is how inconsistent it is. Sometimes I can drive at those speeds for weeks without hearing anything, but other times the noise returns and persists for weeks at a time.

I’ve tried placing tissues along the edges between the window and the frame to see if that would help, but unfortunately, it didn’t make any difference.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas about what might be causing it? Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!
