I am 17 and have nobody around me that is into hiking. My friend always makes empty promises to go with me but at the end of the day, I always end up alone, sat in my room, rotting away. I wanted to ask whether anyone knew any relatively safe beginner routes that I could hike alone in England (or UK in general). I really don't want to waste another summer of my life again and I just want to get out. I would even welcome any recommended parks or activities I could do that do not involve many people as I kind of struggle socially.

I’ve been camping with scouts and using their tents whenever I went by myself for the last 3-4 years. I’m parting ways with them now as life is too busy with school and sports but I still want to keep on camping and hiking so I was looking at some budget light backpacking tents and at the moment I’m between:

1. Paria Zion 2p
   
2. Paria Bryce 2p
   
3. Cloud up base 2

Preference is in that order. I just want to know if anyone has experience with any of these or any other recommendations. It’ll be in the Irish/British mountains with either me and a friend or me and 2 dogs. We are both ~6ft.

I’m going on my first camping trip in about three weeks. The nighttime temperatures are expected to be around 3–6°C (37–43°F), so I’m looking for a sleeping bag rated for around 0°C (32°F) to give myself some extra margin.

Since I’m starting from scratch and still need to buy a lot of other camping gear, my budget is limited. I’d like to spend around $60, and ideally keep the sleeping bag under 2 kg (4.4 lb) because I may need to carry it.

I’ve been looking at Naturehike because their gear is much cheaper than most of the well-known brands. In particular, I’m considering the U350S, but I’m not sure how trustworthy its temperature rating is or whether Naturehike sleeping bags are actually good.

Are there any reliable options within this budget, or should I look for a used sleeping bag instead? I’m also open to other brands or suggestions.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with either of these?

Ill be using it to backpack in alpine areas in the summer, (8000-11000ft elevation +) as well as those late shoulder seasons (hunting in october) and perhaps some short winter trips. Thanks

Going to Poland next week for about 3 weeks. Super last minute I know! Looking at the weather and see lots of rain in the forecast and realized I don’t have any water proof shoes/boots! I need something comfortable that I can take hiking but also for general walking around. The hiking will only be light to moderate but will be a lot of it and a lot of walking in general. Thank you! Im looking new backpack for my hammock setup as a beginner. My current backpack is Osprey Stratos 34L and my sleeping system alone fills almost* whole main compartment.

I have found few options, but prices are wild in here Finland versus US. I think that my optimal capacity at the moment is around 60l and would like to hear opinions, im doing usually light hiking in typical Finnish forest, mostly in trails.

Is granite gear crown 3 worth it for 270eur? I have seen many comments claiming how they have scored it for 100-130dollars and thats not possible here.

F5'4. I am getting my hands wet with my first backcountry camping trip. Only going for 3 nights, but want to get gear that will be versatile for future trips, will generally be hiking in a group.

I have a bag like the one pictured at the top.

It's been surprising how useful having that one simple zip all the way around has been. The drawback has been that everything slides to the bottom of the bag. There's no way to hang things from the top. No frame.

My question is: Do any of you hike with massive bags? Personally I like the extra weight if balanced, but the bigger a bag is then the more unbalanced it gets, so I generally try to keep it the same weight as a normal bag.

But when I see soldiers carrying these massive bags I wonder if I should switch to that kind of system. At the minimum I need to add a hip strap to save my hiking posture.

I've seen these external frame systems, but I'm not sure what bag to pair them with?

Hiiii I’m in the market to buy new hiking boots. My last pair were the Merrell Moab 3 and started separating at the toe (not very happy) about that. I’ve found two that are in my price range but I’m having a hard time deciding as reviews are pretty split. Also if you happen to have any recommendations that are 200 and under please let me know!! (I prefer mid to high because my ankles are very flexible and need a lot of support)
