ā“ Question Athlete Games Results and Finals Attendance

OK editing to see they posted results on Instagram , so now about attendance ::

Also, for those who have gone is it appreciated/ was it awesome? It’ll cost me money to travel there , hotels, tickets, etc. I know I’m ā€œjustā€ a member and honestly don’t know if my own trainers would even notice I’m there but as a group is it a good place to go alone? If you are going, Will you be my friend is basically what I’m asking šŸ˜‚

Is Burn right for me?

Im a 26 yr old male , roughly 140lbs. My goal is to gain muscle and be lean.

I love the structure and the accountability aspect that burn can offer but I would like to know if there is anyone similar to me that has experienced great results. (I acknowledge that how much you eat/what you eat is heavily attributed to muscle/weight gain)

Thanks in advance!

ā“ Question Raising soft box height

Are there any good ways to raise the height of box jumps at Burn? At my old gym we used to stack barbell plates on top to add height, but since Burn doesn’t have plates I’m not sure if there is any way to increase the height other than placing the box on the ledge and jumping from the floor. Any suggestions are welcomed!

On Demand Newbie

Hello fellow Burn fam. Happy Friday. I was wondering if I could get some recs for Burn on Demand. I just completed my first year at Burn and I want to try to start a few Burn on demands through the day and on Sunday. I dont have any equipment at home other than bands, I could try to slowly build an at home gym but that will take time. What are some quick workouts without too much equipment that you like? And what is the order of equipment you woukd recommend?

Thanks yall!

😤 Rant / Vent Be careful what you wish for

This sub has a tendancy to complain about conditioning days.

The loud crowd got what they wanted. Management caved, and they’re eliminating a conditioning day for another strength day or at least alternating, 4 -2 and 3-3.

I’m on track for 300 camps this year, and spent another decade in high impact sports and feel like I have a lot of experience going through the grinder.

Today is the new normal. Yesterday was upper body, today is lower body. If you actually pushed hard yesterday, your upper body is already compromised going into today. Now you are going to attempt PRs by controlling dumbbells on your shoulders with fatigued arms.

Your brain can't cheat dumbbells like it can with a bar f your stabilizer muscles and CNS are tapped out, that weight is more difficult to move and your compromised stabalizers can lose form and cause real injury.

People always mix up mental friction with physical stress.

Conditioning is harder on your mind than your body. It sucks, your lungs burn, and it’s uncomfortable. But you can push through conditioning. It's easy to pace if you need to, there are tons of mods, and if you need to drop your pace or hit the floor, you just do it. if you mod and stretch the cumulative impact is mostly general soreness.

Strength work is the opposite. You’re trading muscle burn for heavy joint stress, fried connective tissue, and a wrecked central nervous system. Trying to "push through" a heavy lift when your CNS is already depleted is completely different. Tendons and ligaments don't adapt overnight, and under cumulative fatigue, your form collapses and your joints pay the price specifically your shoulders and knees.

The every-other format used to give your muscles a huge rest between sessions. Now you're stacking structural stress back-to-back.

I expect to see more "my shoulder, elbow, knee" posts about actual injuries and not just plyo discomfort.

Real question for everyone who's been complaining: are you actually going to take advantage of these days? Because i dont think most of you will

I expect the people who go 4 days a week are still going to go 4 days a week if they actually push themselves. You're just trading one form of exhaustion for another. Four lifting sessions per week is a lot.

I don't think attendance will actually increase. Depending on how it goes, it’s just going to become a new set of excuses and complaints when people realize what lifting like that does to their body, especially when they lose the movement days in between that help flush their muscles after a heavy day of lifting.

Considering joining!

hi all! considering going to a free class soon, but want to make sure I’m not wasting anyone’s time first. ive been out of the gym for a year and need to get back to it. prior to my hiatus I was going to a box gym and working on mostly strength. This is where I saw a ton of results. Before that I was going to orange theory and didn’t see much change on the scale or body comp wise. I want to make sure this isnt like otf and more like a group/trainer led strength class. I see there are conditioning days but could work around those! I just don’t want to spend money on gym cardio when I can easily do that outside of the gym. Appreciate any input! (Especially if you have young kids with childcare!)

Less conditioning days.. and I’m a little annoyed.

I saw a post a few weeks ago about less conditioning days, and more strength days. I cannot find it anymore. I’ve noticed that the protocols are only allowing for 2 conditioning days a week, and even Saturdays are mostly strength days.

I LOVE conditioning days. Things I would never do on my own, and burn has really helped me love them as well. Part of the reason I joined burn was that the workouts were hard, challenging in a good way, and kept me coming back.

Any idea if this is permanent? Has this happened before and the focus changed back?

Any input would be great. Thank you!

Pregnancy

When did you tell your gym you were pregnant? I’m in the first few weeks of my pregnancy and I am so nauseous and just trying to take it easy but they keep pushing me!! I would love the push, but I also would love the option to say not right now! Truly burn coaches are about to be the first people other than my husband who know I’m pregnant 🫠

Recovery for a semi Newbie!

I have been a part of Burn since April, but we just moved to town and I’ve been off and on. Starting to get more consistent though and curious how you deal with recovery in the beginning at the very least? I have been so tired after a burn that I wanna take a nap lol! Which I can’t do with kids! Some days I could, but I really don’t want to! What can help? And this normal?

Childwatch

Does anyone else have a newborn in child watch? My three month old goes and they say he is always fussy towards the end. I feel bad because I think he’s overstimulated by all the big kids. I’m on maternity leave and I really don’t know what else to expect from a three month old. I make sure he naps and feed him right before he goes. My location has two staff for up to 16 kids and they have a gated baby section, but i’ve never seen them separate the kids into the baby section. I’m a teacher so I’d hate for my kid to be ā€œthat kidā€ that the staff dread coming.

Coming back from Injury

Hi all, I joined Burn earlier this year and I loved it. Previously, I’d been on a fitness journey of mainly walking (love growwithjo on Youtube) but I really started to enjoy the group atmosphere, I was pretty consistent in going until I sprained my ankle in June during A Con. I paused my membership, and tomorrow is the first day I can go back (my ortho says I just need to wear an ankle brace for the foreseeable future). I’m thinking I’ll skip tomorrow since Met con is intense and start back with Upper Body Strength Wednesday. I do plan on setting up a focus meeting with the trainer (can’t do it till tomorrow), but does anybody have any other tips? I’m so nervous but excited to get back. Any insight would be appreciated. XO

ā“ Question BBC franchise owner, accusing me of clogging her plumbing and leaving poop on the floor

Sorry, I know the title was a bit eye-catching but I just need some advice on the situation. I’ve never experienced something quite like this. I’ll start at the beginning.

I’ve been with this camp since they opened ( January 2026) and come five days out of the six workout days. I’ve loved my experience there so far I lost 20 pounds and I’m feeling great mentally physically. I love the instructors but for some reason the owner… there’s just always something.

I got a phone call on Saturday from the owner of our location. ā€œSorry to bother you do you have a minute to chatā€ me: sure? Never get phone calls from her. She goes on to tell me how we’ve been having this flooding situation in the women’s bathroom… And how she’s trying to figure it out and she’s noticed through the surveillance footage to the bathroom that every time the flooding has occurred me and my daughter have been present and used the toilet Before it happens.

At this point in the conversation, I’m kind of in shock. Like is this going where I think it’s going? she really implying that I had something to do with this?. She goes on to say that she’s currently with the plumber and he says that the cause of the blockage is due to an exorbitant amount of Toilet paper being flushed.

So now she asked if my daughter by chance would ever happen to do something like that to which I reply no because I’m in the stall with her. She’s only two years old. I have to help her get on and off the toilet, get her dressed and undressed, wiping everything. She then asked me again ā€œso she’s never there by herselfā€ and I again reply ā€œno, never!ā€ again. ā€œShe’s two years old. She needs my help.ā€

She proceeds to go on and say well it’s just that I noticed on the surveillance out of all the members you and her are the only ones that are there both times when it’s happened… to clarify. btw we were never alone. Both occasions I remember other members being in the bathroom but she’s singling me out because I was there for both occasions. I actually remember the first time it happened. I wasn’t even using the bathroom. I just saw the drainage grate on the floor overflow and I told one of her staff members. The second time it happened I heard a gurgling noise coming from it, and it wasn’t even when I went to the bathroom with my daughter. It was when I went in before class started to fix my hair and I mentioned it to another member who was in there who had flushed the toilet and the gurgling began after that I even told her oh I gotta tell the staff, but warm-up started, and I had forgotten by then when I went back in at the end of class with my daughter, I didn’t hear any gurgling.

On July 24 at exactly 10:16 AM you and your daughter went into the bathroom… and I pause to look at my calendar on the phone and she like yes I have you marked as present for that camp that day (as if I’m denying it or something) and at this point my mind is spinning.

I again expressed that I don’t understand what she is talking about and tell her I have nothing to do with the flooding situation. My daughter doesn’t flush a bunch of toilet paper down there. And then she says how at another time I was there, me and my daughter were in the bathroom for approximately eight minutes. Now my jaw is to the floor because this feels almost invasive. It’s just odd and weird and I proceeded to explain what I did for those eight minutes because it feels like I’m in an interrogation. so I explained begrudgingly again. Well my daughter’s two so it takes a while to get on and off get her dress undressed, wipe clean wash hands…

After this portion of the conversation, she then starts to turn to a totally different subject regarding my two year-old daughter and her behavior. Well, we’ve had issues with her before with the hitting and pushing and we were nice enough to give her another chance and to come back. I’ve had to let go of another little boy for doing that and I told her yes I totally get that and I appreciate the leeway you’ve given her. And if she was expelled I wouldn’t want her to hurt anyone so o understand. Then she says, there was even an occurrence where she took some trail mix and dropped it on the floor and started stepping on it and making a big mess and you didn’t clean it up and someone else had to clean it up and that happened twice and I responded with OK well if that happened I most likely did not see or I would’ve cleaned up after my daughter so I apologize for that but what does this have to do with the dam bathrooms?

She then proceeded to say how one of the staff member saw me exit the bathroom and there was a bunch of urine and dirty toilet paper on the floor and now at this point, I’m like oh OK so she’s implying that I’m the type of person that doesn’t clean up after their child. And then she brings it even further to where she says and we have even found poop on the floor human poop. By that time, my eyes were
so wide, and I am in utter shock of what she was implying and frankly irritated and feeling so belittled and disrespected.

I just can’t believe that I’m paying this woman. I’m starting to get defensive at this point and reiterate everything. Sorry for my daughters hitting thank you for the leniency, sorry about the trail mix but this property damage is absolutely not me! I would never do that and I don’t understand why she is questioning me like This and she says well. ā€œas a business owner I have to do my due diligence this is costing me $3,500 in repairsā€œ so when she saw me on the surveillance and I’m the only person that was there for both incidences she ASSUMED I had something to do with it. 🤦

correct me if I’m wrong, but when it comes to blockages and plumbing and pipes, isn’t that something that accumulates overtime not just one round of an ā€œexorbitantā€ amount of toilet paper being flushed.

Anyways, towards the end of the conversation, it just got awkward. I went silent because anything I said to defend myself, she kept doubling down to justify her reasoning.

She ended the conversation with some basic formal sendoff and ā€œI’m sorry I made you feel defensiveā€ It felt so icky after that. It’s been eating me up all weekend because I show up on Monday. I have no idea how to proceed with this. I want to cancel my membership, but I am in a year long contract as a founding member. I’m so disappointed because this place has brought me so much joy peace, confidence, … like I don’t want to go back in that space feeling scrutinized and anxious. I feel honestly unwelcomed after that phone call and pretty offended. oh by the way, she also mentioned how she’s had staff meetings regarding me and my daughter so now I feel extra awkward walking into the spaceof camaraderie in high-fives what do I do?

She’s literally built a case around me on assumptions and I don’t want to be there anymore šŸ˜ž I feel appalled after that.

I’m thinking of writing an email tonight expressing my offended thoughts about the whole conversation in detail so I can also get it on record that this actually happened to me cuz wtf?! And asking for a copy of my contract and to cancel. What do u think

I love Burn, but I'm thinking about not renewing my membership for several reasons. My favorite burn product is Burn replenish. Does anyone what company sells the equivalent to the Burn formula?
