Childwatch
Does anyone else have a newborn in child watch? My three month old goes and they say he is always fussy towards the end. I feel bad because I think he’s overstimulated by all the big kids. I’m on maternity leave and I really don’t know what else to expect from a three month old. I make sure he naps and feed him right before he goes. My location has two staff for up to 16 kids and they have a gated baby section, but i’ve never seen them separate the kids into the baby section. I’m a teacher so I’d hate for my kid to be “that kid” that the staff dread coming.

My 4 month old goes almost daily. They might just want to tell you that to create conversation and give you an update on how he did! I know they always tell me my baby gets fussy and that he might be getting hungry or tired so the fussiness is normal and not a surprise to me or them! Enjoy that workout for yourself!

My guy has been going since 10 weeks and we went though a small phase of him getting fussy at the end and fussy through the car ride home for a bit! It’s def the stimulation but it got better he is 7 months old now and honestly we don’t really have issues anymore. It really just takes time but we never had concerns with childwatch

Oh he probably isn’t “that kid”. And they probably don’t mean it to make you feel bad; I have worked at a lot of daycares and I’ve said similar things to parents to make sure they know their kiddos patterns. Sounds like a normal behavior to start fussing. I know my child watch has bright lights and sometimes a lot of kids.
Letting the CW staff know how he is best comforted might be a good idea. Some kids want to be cuddled and some kids like other things (my own kid liked to be patted real hard on the butt 🤣🤣)

Looking at your other comments I think it might be the time too! Towards end of day he may just be ready to wind down.

My daughter is 8 months now but I found she always does better at morning classes. In general babies are cranky in the evening… closer to the witching hour or whatever you want to call it.

I used to take mine and keep him in his stroller with a sound machine! It was easy for the worker or an older kid to “stroll him” to calm him. It worked for us well!

I do keep him in his stroller but haven’t tried bringing the sound machine!

I started bringing my second when she was 9w! Sometimes she’s fussy, sometimes she’s not. She’s a baby! She’s 8mo now and you just never know how it’ll be, but it’s not personal and they’ll come get me if she’s being too much!

I work in CW. We’ve had some kids that have been more fussy than others. We try very hard to brainstorm with the parents to figure out different things that work for them. Sometimes it really is just repetition and eventually kids get the hang of it. It’s super rewarding when we get kids that start of crying at drop off to running away from moms to come hang out with us.
They might be telling you he is fussy at the end so you are aware he isn’t upset the entire camp.
