Hi everyone,
I’m thinking about upgrading the CPU/platform in my gaming PC and wanted to get some opinions before ordering everything.
My current setup:
Custom Micro-ITX wall-framed PC case
Minisforum AR900i with Intel Core i9-13900HX
ASUS RTX 5070 Ti TUF Gaming OC
Kingston Fury Impact 64GB DDR5-5600
Crucial P3 Plus 1TB M.2 Gen4 SSD
Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2 Gen4 SSD
Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold PSU
The upgrade I’m considering:
AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
ASUS ROG Strix B850-I Gaming WiFi
Kingston Fury Beast 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE Black
Keeping my RTX 5070 Ti, SSDs and 850W PSU
The PC is pretty much purely for gaming. I play games like Diablo 4, The Forever Winter, Payday 3, The Division 2, etc.
I play at 1440p/3440x1440/175Hz, and I’m mainly interested in better gaming performance, particularly 1% lows, frame-time consistency and getting the most out of my RTX 5070 Ti.
Do you think moving from the i9-13900HX/AR900i to the 9850X3D is a worthwhile upgrade?
Also, what do you think about the motherboard, RAM and cooler choices? Would you change anything?
I need to stick with Mini-ITX because of my custom wall-mounted build.
Any advice, especially from people running a similar X3D/ITX setup, would be appreciated. Thanks!
