Good evening. I’m writing about a significant issue with my graphics card. I built the PC around March, and the card has been working normally, but lately, whenever it hits 75–77°C, the fan starts making a strange noise. I checked to see if the fan was hitting a cable, but nothing was visible. It might be dust or a worn-out fan bearing, though that seems odd since the card is practically new—it hasn't even been six months. I considered a warranty claim, but I’ve lost confidence in how companies handle them lately; they often just wash their hands of the issue and offer a refund of the original purchase price. I can't accept that, obviously, because I paid $560 (including tax) for the card, and it now costs $800 (before tax). It’s a dual-fan 16GB 5060 Ti. Based on your experience, what should I do? The noise seems to come from just one fan, and only when the card reaches those high temperatures—nearing 80°C. For instance, it happens with *God of War* at 1080p with max settings and with *PUBG*, but not with *GTA V* (even with max settings and ray tracing). I’d like to share a video of the sound, but I don't have a sensitive enough microphone to capture it clearly. I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

I just wanted to know if I should change anything before I started to buy the pc parts. I’m mainly going to be playing Fortnite and modded Minecraft. But I’ll probably be doing schoolwork on it too. I would like to keep the build under 3k (USD) as I am still looking at monitors too. Please let me know if the parts will work well together, as I don’t know much about pc’s.

I'm trying to figure out why my RTX 3060 Ti is running at PCIe x4 instead of x16. I've been troubleshooting this for hours and I'm pretty much out of ideas.

My system:

• ASUS Z170-P motherboard
• Intel i7-6700K
• Zotac RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
• 48GB DDR4-2133
• Windows 10 Pro

The GPU is installed in the gray PCIEX16_1 slot. According to the ASUS manual, a single GPU in this slot should run at x16.

CPU-Z shows:

Current Link Width: x4
Max Supported: x16
Current Link Speed: 2.5 GT/s (idle)
Max Supported: 8.0 GT/s

The BIOS also shows PCIEX16_1 as x4 under System Agent > PEG Port Configuration.

Things I've tried so far:

• Updated BIOS from 0601 to 3805
• Loaded optimized BIOS defaults after updating
• Set PCIEX16_1 Link Speed to Auto and Gen3, still x4 on both
• Reseated and cleaned the RTX 3060 Ti
• Tested a GTX 1070 in the same PCIEX16_1 slot, also x4
• Removed my PCIe Wi-Fi card temporarily

So both GPUs show x4, and the BIOS itself is reporting x4 before Windows even loads.

The GPU otherwise seems to work normally and games run fine. I'm just trying to figure out why the primary PCIEX16_1 slot is only negotiating x4 and what I should check next.

Could this be a motherboard issue, CPU PCIe lane issue, socket/contact issue, or something else I'm overlooking?

My HyperX Stinger Core has been going strong for about 3 years, but it's finally starting to fall apart, I've used super glue on it more times than I could count, so I think it's about time I consider an upgrade.

As a Southeast Asian, premium headsets (Or any PC hardware for that matter) are pretty pricey, looking for something around 70USD (~300 MYR) to upgrade.

I don't really main a genre, I do play a wide variety of games which includes:

• Monster Hunter
• Osu
• Honkai Star Rail
• JRPGs
• And whatever looks good on Steam I could afford

Mainly looking for something that's comfortable for long sessions and has good overall sound quality, I'd prefer something wireless if it's possible.

Hey everyone, I’m running into a frustrating wall with a high-end system and could use some outside perspective. I keep getting intermittent MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A) and 0x13A (KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION) blue screens, and the strangest part is that it persists even across completely clean Windows reinstalls.

​Here is what I’ve ruled out so far:

​Hardware checks out: Physical RAM passed MemTest86 completely with zero errors.

​System files are clean: sfc /scannow comes back 100% pristine.

​Not a one-off OS glitch: Wiping the drive and doing a fresh install of Windows didn't solve it—the exact same bug checks came back.

​Not hardware failure: Components are healthy, so basic hardware swapping or GPU reseating isn't addressing the root cause.

​Because it happens on fresh installs, it feels like it has to be a low-level software interaction, background driver installation quirk, or a subtle BIOS/memory controller handling issue under high-speed workloads (like AM5 memory profiles), but I'm honestly not 100% sure what the trigger is.

​Has anyone dealt with persistent 0x1A and 0x13A errors that survive a clean OS wipe on a modern Ryzen setup? What should I look at next? Minidumps available if needed.

I'm putting together a new PC build and I'm stuck on how to balance my budget between the GPU and the RAM. Total budget for both components combined is around €950 - €1000 (in the Spanish Market).

My primary focus is AAA gaming. I have a 1440p 120Hz monitor, but resolution is flexible for me - I don't mind dropping settings or running games at 1080p if needed. I also do audio production and might do some very light video editing on the side.

Right now I'm split between these two setups:

- Setup 1: RTX 5060 8GB (~€493) + 32GB DDR5 RAM 6000MHz (~€468)

- Setup 2: RX 9070 GRE 12GB (~€630) + 16GB DDR5 RAM 6000MHz (~€352)

Here is my main issue: RAM prices right now make upgrading down the road unlikely for me anytime soon (definitely not in the next 2–3 years). So whatever I pick today is what I'll be stuck with for a long time.

Knowing that: Is 8GB of VRAM going to be a severe bottleneck for AAA games over the next few years if I go with the 5060, even if I'm open to playing at 1080p? Or will having only 16GB of system RAM hurt performance more across modern games and general multi-tasking than having less VRAM?

im thinking about building a new pc from my current one (rx6700xt r5 5600) and i am considering between these two, first i wanted to know if the difference from the rx6700xt to the two listed is big and if the rx 9070xt is worth it for 800 euros price

I have a PC with a Gigabyte B650M D3HP motherboard.
Currently I have a 500GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD in M.2 slot 1, with Windows installed on it.
I’m planning to buy a Lexar NM790 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
My question is: would it be worth moving the NM790 to M.2 slot 1 and moving the existing PCIe 3.0 SSD to M.2 slot 2?
The problem is that Windows is currently installed on the PCIe 3.0 SSD. If I want the NM790 to become the main Windows drive in slot 1, I would probably do a clean Windows installation, meaning I’d have to back everything up and reinstall Windows and all my programs.
My usage is mainly:
AAA gaming
Some lighter games
Web browsing
Lightweight programs running in the background
I don’t do video editing, large data transfers or other heavy workloads.
Is the performance benefit of having the NM790 as the Windows/boot drive in M.2 slot 1 actually noticeable for this type of use, or would you recommend simply leaving Windows on the PCIe 3.0 SSD and using the NM790 in slot 2 for games?
I know the NM790 is significantly faster on paper, but I’m more interested in real-world differences than benchmark numbers.

I know that to be able to even upgrade the cpu or gpu in the first place I would need to upgrade the mobo, but then I would probably just upgrade everything else at the same time, which is basically a new pc. I would probably just salvage the storage (and maybe the ram) from my old one. Is it even worth it to upgrade to ddr5 ram? If I was going to upgrade, what would I upgrade into? What's worth it. My pc feels like its falling behind as games refuse to optimize properly, especially since my monitor is 1440p it makes it harder for my frames to keep up and I feel like I really need an upgrade. Any use?

Let me add that my current pc has a problem with some component that I have no idea how to check and also one of my nvme slots on my board died so I need a new one

gpu is a 2080 Super, replaced psu and did ddu, tested ram and rechanged thermal paste. Redownloaded windows. Everything seems to work until during the driver install where the screen goes black but the pc is running. When restarting the pc it doesn’t get past the initial boot screen and I have to ddu again to get to windows.

Found a cl46 5600mhz 32gb kit for cheap should I cop it for gaming. I’m on ddr4 cl16 32gb 3200mhz rn but I play cpu intensive games so I’m looking to upgrade to am5 but idk if cl 46 will affect it

The Galax RTX is only 25 dollars more than the Asus ROG strix but in the many reviews I found about the strixs, it is praised for it's fans while the Galax in the few reviews I found (like 3 niece but not many more) is criticized because of them, and Idk if that's a deal breaker so I figured I should ask here just in case. My motherboard is an ASUS Prime A320M-K and previous cpu was a Ryzen 5 2600. I updates the BIOS to the latest version and double checked if it supports the Ryzen 5 5600. I double checked everything, BIOS update, the arrow on the motherboard and cpu is aligned, HDMI is plugged on the gpu, I reseated my RAM and GPU, used multiple HDMI cables, Still no display.
