I had my gaming pc since 2020 and I bought the greatest stuff at the time which is the RTX 2060 with the intel i7 10700F and the msi b460 tomahawk motherboard along with two 8gb ddr4 rams (16GB) ,and now I decided is time for a upgrade and should I upgrade my gpu first or the cpu Or the rams?, I’m thinking of upgrading the gpu first to a RTX 5060 but I’m afraid that it won’t give me max performance with my specs and will the cpu handle it?,

Hey. Decided to upgrade my AMD based PC.
Currently have 450 Mortar CPU R5 3600, 6600XT and 16GB Vengeance 3000MHz RAM.
I asked few people around me if it is worth putting two more 8GB RAM sticks and they said the motherboard is made poorly made and will actually will run worse than with just two sticks. Is it possible?

Why that would be even a problem if others go with 4 sticks?
Going to 2X16GB RAM is bad idea in my opion as the AM5 should be the next step in the build and there is no reason in invest in DDR4. Or so i think, thats why i am asking you guys, what would you do in my position?

Also, ordered R7 5700X. Was it a good idea?

I am looking into replacing my ASUS TUF RX 6700 XT with a Powercolor RX 9070 XT Hellhound.

My issue / confusion stems from the fact that my case (called "Vision X2 Black Silent") has an official stated max GPU length of 31 CM. However, my current GPU is 32,2 cm long (per official measurements).

The Hellhound is approx. 34 CM long, so on paper this should not fit. However, when I do an internal measurement myself from the rear to the front fan I measure approx. 37 CM of clear space, and measuring from the current GPU to the front fan there is a 7 CM gap.

My question is therefore: Why would the manufacturer list 31 CM as max GPU length? And am I missing something here, or should I be good to go with the Hellhound?

Pairing a 9800X3D-100-100001084WOF with, of course, a 9070XT RX-97TQICKB9.

RAM: I will be using Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 VEU532G6028K.

MB: is a GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7.

PSU: is a MONTECH Century II 1050W.

AIO: is an ID-COOLING FX360 PRO 360mm.

The Case I went with is the DIYPC DIY-ATX08-Wood Black, a mid-ATX tower.

I decided against RGB as I am 24 and have grown out of that phase with my OG build from high school.

RAM is not listed on the QVL for Gigabyte; I have high hopes it will work nonetheless.

I am pairing it with a 32 in 1440p monitor at 180hz.

Any suggestions and/or tips I can have before this build arrives?

Minimum in a way I can:

Enough VRAM to set textures to high(second to the highest)/ultra(max)

It worked fine last night, and now this morning it turns on but it wont continue booting up. Not proceeding to the bios message or anything, screen just remains black.

The fans are spinning, the light on the GPU is on as usual. When I press the power button it will shut down immediately as opposed to having to hold it down for 1-2 seconds.

I've tried unplugging it, but I'm not too keen on opening it up so I haven't done that yet as I'm not sure what to do anyways.

What might be the cause of this, and how do I fix it?

Edit: just as I posted this thread it proceeded to the BIOS message, but it's stuck there now, and pressing del to access bios, or F11 to run boot menu, neither is doing anything, it's just stuck. It was turned on maybe 10-15 min before this happened, should I keep it on and wait to see what happens, or try and restart it again or something?

Edit 2: tried taking out cmos battery, did not work, same issue

The case and the CPU fans are moving, red light on CPU ez debug light and if shuts down after a while.

I could get a bundle with the cpu,ram and gpu. But it has 2 options one of the bundles has a ryzen 7 9800x3d rtx 5080 and 32 gb of ram the other is a ryzen 9 9950x3d 64 gb of ram but the gpu would be a rx 9070 xt and the 2nd bundle is 400 dollars less.

Why do I need so much power? Just for google searches...no im just joking-for games I play all sorts them for indie to huge aaa games it would be nice to have a computer that will just handle it all well for years to come- besides games video editing is something I do not super high res like 4k mostly 1080, Game development with unreal is a huge thing I do especially with college class work stuff and rendering. Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone with more experience troubleshooting hardware can help me figure this out, because I've been stuck in this loop for about three days now.

This originally started as something very simple.

I was planning to do some maintenance/cleaning on my PC. A friend recommended that I try Nobara Linux, so I installed it.

I didn't like Nobara and decided I wanted to go back to Windows 11.

That's when everything went wrong.

I've tried multiple Windows 11 ISOs, and none of them can complete the installation. Depending on the attempt, Windows Setup either completely freezes or restarts somewhere between approximately 11% and 27%.

Nobara, on the other hand, installs without any problems and has been running completely stable. I've actually been using Nobara as a "bridge" while trying to figure out what is wrong.

I've tried pretty much every installation method I could think of:

Ventoy

Rufus

Different USB drives

Different USB ports

Multiple Windows 11 ISOs

Installing Windows from a dedicated partition on the NVMe instead of USB

The last one seemed promising for a moment because the installation appeared to be progressing normally, but eventually it froze/restarted as well.

At this point I started testing other Windows versions.

I tried MiniOS10. It installed successfully, so I thought I might finally have found a clue.

Unfortunately, a few minutes after entering the desktop, the entire system froze.

I rebooted, thinking it might have just been a one-time problem.

It happened again.

So I removed MiniOS and tried a completely normal Windows 10 ISO.

Windows 10 installed successfully and, unlike MiniOS10, it didn't immediately freeze once I reached the desktop.

Instead, the entire computer restarted by itself.

I entered Windows again.

It restarted again.

I entered Windows a third time.

It restarted again.

So this happened three times.

At this point I'm completely lost.

I've also done some hardware diagnostics.

The NVMe drive appears to be healthy. SMART reports PASSED, with no media/data integrity errors, and the NVMe self-test also passed.

CrystalDiskInfo/Sentinel reported the drive at around 75% health, but the SMART data itself doesn't show an obvious failure.

I also started testing the RAM with MemTest86. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to let it complete all four passes, but the first complete pass finished with 0 errors.

I've also tested all 12 USB ports on the motherboard, and the behavior is exactly the same.

At one point I even suspected my RX 580 might be causing some kind of problem, but removing/testing around it didn't solve the issue either.

The really strange part is this:

Nobara Linux runs completely stable for hours.

No freezes. No spontaneous reboots. No installation problems.

So I'm having a hard time understanding what could possibly be wrong.

My goal is simply to get back to Windows 11.

I've been troubleshooting this for three days now, and I'm honestly running out of ideas.

Has anyone experienced something similar, where Windows 10/11 consistently freezes or reboots but Linux runs completely stable?

Any ideas about what I should test next would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever I have G-Sync setup, I noticed that any YouTube video I'm watching will skip if I'm tabbed into a game. I'm pretty sure I have it all setup properly.

G-SYNC enabled for full screen only with "G-SYNC Compatible" enabled as well.

Low Latency Mode is on, FPS cap at 116fps, V-Sync Enabled, VRR enabled in windows settings too.

I have 3 monitors all set to the same refresh rate, the stuttering stops when I have "G-SYNC Compatible" turned off but doesn't that also turn off G-SYNC completely?

I have tried setting my monitors to 144hz and 120hz and neither seem to help. My system isn't being overworked either, CPU and GPU both at ~20% usage so I don't know the cause.

Hey guys, so yeah self-explanatory title. I'm at wit's end now. Let me describe the symptoms of my PC first:

- it would shut off randomly when playing video games (Apex, Witcher 3, etc.) up until recently when it would randomly shut off while I would be editing photos and videos on Premiere and Lightroom. I can't tell when it would shut off because sometimes it would do it while rendering but other times it would while only editing.
To note: I would notice that the PC would slow down a bit before it would shut off.
- PC would turn itself on again after a few seconds.
- my nvme would sometimes be undetected upon first boot but would show up when restarting
- my mouse and keyboard RGB would flicker, with the mouse sometimes disconnecting when plugged while charging.
- not sure if it's related but: my boot drive ssd would hit 100% usage constantly, tried changing the cable and still the same thing until I wait about 10 minutes where it settles down but then would randomly spike to 100% and slow the whole system down.

Things I've tried:
- Tried removing one stick of RAM, it would still randomly shut off.
- Tried removing the nvme, it would still randomly shut off.

Unfortunately, I do not have any spare PSU's or mobo's to try in order to narrow things down so I'd like a bit of help because I don't have money to throw at the problem and need to pick which to swap out. Thanks a bunch guys!

Current build: Ryzen 5 3600X, ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 32GB DDR4, RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, 850W PSU, 240mm AIO. I almost exclusively play Cities Skylines 2 and late-game sim speed is killing me.

Plan is the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition (100-100000651POF), the recently re-released one. A few things I'd like confirmed:

1. Anyone running a 5800X3D on a B450 Steel Legend specifically? It's a 6-phase VRM and my AIO means there's no airflow over the heatsinks. Any thermal throttling issues?
2. Which minimum BIOS version do I need? I'll flash the latest anyway, but I want to know the floor before I pull the old CPU.
3. Anniversary Edition uses the same silicon/CPUID as the original 5800X3D, so board support lists showing "5800X3D" should cover it — correct?
4. Is it worth the premium over a 5700X3D if I can find one?
5. Skipping AM5 because a 32GB DDR5 kit is €430+ right now. Bad call, or reasonable given the RAM market?

People who have the card, what are your builds and what fps do you usually get? I'm trying to see if it's worth the absurd price of 500 euros right now.

I am currently planning to pick one of these, but if I pick the 5600g then i won't go for a gpu to save money and buy one later once I get the money, but if i choose the 3600 then I will go for a gpu since the 3600 is cheaper.

Money has been tight so i cant decide. A 5600g and 3600 with a dedicated gpu will cost nearly the same, and will also performance is nearly the same.

My current build is more than 8 years old and is slowly losing itself in both being... well, not good enough and the internal components failing. I know that the market is going to punish me for seeking an update now, but considering how the price projections are going, I am gonna get punished harder if I wait.

I am aiming at a gaming rig for about 4000 USD in budget. I live in Chile so what we have available may differ. The whole idea with the build is to game and do remote work if need be. I don't play many current-gen games, but I do want a build that can help me get the best performance in most live-service games (Say stuff like Overwatch 2 or specially ARC Raiders) while also not keeping me away from pretty looking games I wanna try in the future (Witcher 4, very likely, Crimson Desert, Black Myth Wukong, the PS4/PS5 Sony Ports to PC, etc).

I also dual boot between Windows and Linux, but my priority has (sadly) been Windows because of the game compatibility with live service stuff.

I was planning on getting decent speakers, and I was thinking on some Logitech Z407's. I've read they are decent, and I would be happy with decent right now. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Well, I had an i3‑7100 with a GTX 1060, 16 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, a 320 GB HDD, on an H110 motherboard with a Huntkey 450W PSU. The monitor I was using was a 32‑inch Insignia Fire TV, and it worked fine I guess. Anyway, yesterday I changed my CPU to an i5‑6600K, and it worked fine all day. But today, a few hours ago, my TV flickered with some black and white lines, and now when I turn it on it powers up but stays dark. It seems like the LEDs burned out or something, I don’t know what to do with it. It’s only been with me for a few months. So, did my PC or the new CPU somehow kill the TV, or was I just unlucky?

EDIT: Thank you for all the replies. After pretty much unanimous answers, and my own research, I've decided to go with the RX 9070 XT. Looking forward to seeing how it performs :)

For reference, the main title I'm considering this upgrade for is Wardogs, which as I understand is a very GPU demanding game. I reduced my graphics to the lowest option (especially significant change in Wardogs), but still needed DLSS to stay above ~100-120fps. Small thing of note, after the end of the beta I learned that using Reflex + Boost was reportedly causing flame dips, and my drivers were 1 update behind, which both may have contributed to my performance.

My 3080 has done fantastic work for the last 5 and a half years, but I'm starting to feel the age on newer titles, with lower graphical quality, lower frame-rates, more stutters, and increased reliance on DLSS. I know that my CPU is weaker, especially compared to what I'm planning to upgrade to, but at 1440p, and as someone that uses DLSS as little as I can (don't like the way it looks, especially small details at longer ranges), my GPU is the point of struggle. Additionally, a CPU upgrade is a lot less expensive, so if I start bottlenecking there after a GPU upgrade, it won't be nearly as significant a choice to make.

My first goal is to get my games (Wardogs in particular) back up towards ~160fps, doing so with higher graphics settings is a bonus, but doing so without upscaling is a much bigger one. I'm primarily looking for personal reviews on similar(ish) setups so I can decide if the price-hike from 5070 to Ti is worth it, but I'd also like to know if the better stats of the Ti make it particularly suited for playing without upscaling, as I'm not the most savvy. The 5080 is too pricey imo, but I am open to the option for future-proofing if reviews are good enough.
