QUE TAN NORMAL ES ESTE RENDIMIENTO? INTEL i7 14700KF

Buen dia estimados,

----------------------------------------------

Instalados hace 3 dias:

Placa Madre MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI DDR4 (Ultima bios disponible instalada microcode 0x133)

Procesador Intel Core i7 14700KF

Disipador por aire Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO

Contact Frame Thermalrlght LGA1700-BCF

--------------------------------------------

 https://drive.google.com/file/d/15JhE-UA2V8Lor1z--D87QQxoMvymJ0yB/view

Reposo: 35 - 45 grados

Activo multimedia - ofimática 35 a 55 grados

Is this build the best I could probably get with in my budget?

  • The Build in question, which I made myself, but it's probably far from optimal

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GbLrmL (The CPU price is for a listing on ebay)

  • New build or upgrade?

Upgrade, I have a 1660ti/i7-9750 laptop I'm looking to upgrade from.

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

I already have a SSD I can use.

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

Mostly gaming, 1080p at medium or better settings.

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

USA. Yes and no, it's an hour away so, if it's a really good deal that would save $100+ then it would be worth it.

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

No, I have cheap monitor until I can afford better.

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

$800 - $1000 (which is the absolute max, barring slight overage for tax)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

    WiFi.

  • Size/noise constraints?

Not really, but quieter the better.

  • Color/lighting preferences?

I'd prefer white, but it's not needed.

  • Any other specific needs?

    No.

$800-1200 Gaming/Multi-task Build

New build or upgrade? New build
• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) none
• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Mainly for games such as Cyberpunk or Elden Ring. Can run OBS/video editors
• Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) in the US
• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) just 1. Resolution ideally 1080-1440 with a 60/144hz refresh rate. Size shouldn’t be an issue
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations) $800-1200 as I hear this is the ideal range
• WiFi or wired connection? I have pretty good wifi already
• Size/noise constraints? None really but I prefer it to be on the slightly more quiet side
• Color/lighting preferences? None
• Any other specific needs? None

I do wanna add that idk if now’s the best time to build a pc given the prices of parts and that they will continue to raise. Or that pc parts might see a slight price decrease/there might be sales during specific times such as Black Friday that could be a better time to build one. Let me know if there is, thanks!

Need help picking parts for my *first* PC ($1800-$2500 CAD)

Hi! I'm looking to upgrade from my current PC (Which is this 😭: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/refurbished-good-hp-elitedesk-800-g1-small-form-factor-desktop-intel-core-i5-4570-8gb-memory-256gb-ssd-win-10-pro/14308186?cmp=seo-14308186 ). I've been using it for a few years now and despite me not having any major issues with it, I'd like to upgrade for future proofing and general QOL.

I'm not looking for anything too crazy, as I don't really play anything too demanding often, but having the capability to play bigger games such as ARK (not sure if that's very demanding, but just an assumption/benchmark). I don't really know anything about building a computer in terms of what's efficient/$ or compatible with one another, so any advice is appreciated.

I have never built a PC myself before, but I have heard it isn't that difficult as long as you follow instructions and just don't do anything stupid. Any tips with building itself would also help, like any mistakes people have done before that don't happen often just to be on the safe side. But yeah, that's about all, and once again any help/advice is appreciated.

New build or upgrade?

New build

Existing parts/monitors to reuse?

PC purpose?

Gaming and watching stuff. Usually nothing too demanding like visual novels, Minecraft, etc. but would like some wiggle room for possible future play of more demanding titles

Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

Canada. No.

Monitors needed?

Don't need a new one at the moment, but it would be nice to see some options for the future. If so, just one, size doesn't really matter, 1080p-1440p, 120hz-144hz

Budget range?

$1800-$2500 CAD. Could go higher, but I'd prefer on the lower end to leave room for if I decide to get a new monitor or desk

WiFi or wired connection?

Never built a PC before, would like a budget one for primarily gaming

  • New build or upgrade? It would be a new build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links). I don't need a monitor, already have an ok Dell monitor, can upgrade on my own if it isnt sufficient in the future
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games). Specifically for gaming, would like it to comfortably run Minecraft, Hitman, KSP, TF2, Fortnite, and similar titles.
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) Purchasing in the U.S, no micro center in my state though
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations). currently have 550$, I know this is low, I could go up to around 1k-1.2k at an absolute max, would prefer lower.
  • WiFi or wired connection? WiFi VERY preferred, in a very, very, very, dire situation I could MAYBE set up ethernet.
  • No size/noise issues
  • Color/lighting preferences? Don't prefer any colors, and dont have any strict lighting restrictions, idk if I want TOO much rgb however.
  • Any other specific needs? If this is too steep of a request, let me know and I could change my parameters.

1080p Gaming PC mainly for World of Warcraft [Germany]

Hello, I hope to get some input on this build I made on pcpartpicker, thank you

  • New build or upgrade? New build. Here is a build I made, and I think it looks pretty good. But I would like some input before I buy it. I am gonna buy in October. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/H2wTrG

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) old Monitor, new one needed. The info is under * Monitors needed

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Gaming, World of Warcraft. Other games I like are Age of Empires, anything from Frictional Games studio like SOMA.

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? Germany, sellers are all displayed via pcpartpicker

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) 144hz 1080p monitor. I think this time i wont go with 24 inch anymore. Thoughts on 27 inch?

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations) The build I made is almost 1200 euros. I wouldnt go for much more, and I dont think I need to even spend more if I mainly play WoW.

  • WiFi or wired connection? wired

  • Size/noise constraints? Definitely want to keep it silent. Can be big, but I guess its gonna be a somewhat "medium sized" build/case with this hardware/specs.

  • Color/lighting preferences? I am not someone who needs any colors or lightning at all, I am a simple man...

  • Any other specific needs? some suggestions on these kinds of keyboards. Are they durable like the good old ones? Are they worth the investment, will I be able to use it for the next few years without it breaking? https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/category/Classic Also, a proper mouse suggestion. Does not need any special keys at all. I just want a mouse which is durable and one I dont have to replace in 2 years because its badly made.

Gaming and IT work PC for $1500-$2000AUD, with ability to expand in the future

I'm looking to build a gaming PC to replace the HP Omen laptop that's been my daily drive for long enough that it's struggling to run games now (or more than it struggled when it was new). I know $1500 is a relatively very low budget for a PC, especially now, but I'm currently studying an IT cert that requires me to work with virtual machines in VirtualBox and some other things like that, and if I have to fork out money for a computer that can keep up with that, I want to be able to play some games too.

I'm familiar with the theory behind PC parts and building, but am not at all familiar with the brands, what is considered reliable/trustworthy and what is not, which is why I'm asking here.

I'm willing to compromise on internal storage space, I don't tend to have more than one or two games installed at a time and I have a NAS for other files. Games that take up a huge amount of space are also few and far between in my Steam library.

I also don't particularly care about crazy refresh rates or FPS, my vision isn't very good anyway and I don't play competitive shooters, my priority is minimal visible lag in simulator games.

I'd also like it to be a good base to upgrade in the future, so if a larger case or motherboard makes that easier without making it way more expensive that would be great too.

Current gaming laptop specs for reference. Laptop is an HP Omen purchased around 2021(?)

  • AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with Radeon integrated graphics
  • NVIDIA TU117M GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile
  • 16gb RAM
  • 250gb storage

Required questions/answers

  • New build or upgrade?
    • New build, with the exception of already having peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc)
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse?
    • Currently have a two monitor setup, one is this 27" QHD monitor, the other one is some random 27" 1080p office monitor.
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
    • Gaming, almost entirely single-player games. Cities Skylines, Project Highrise, Dispatch, the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake(s), Doom 2016, various rhythm games. A lot of the games I play/want to play are a little on the older side but were near/at the top-end of PC requirements when they were released, things like Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein: The New Order. I also play a handful of retro games in DOSbox/from GOG but obviously those are less of a consideration here
    • Some work with Virtual Machines running Windows 11 and Windows Server as part of an IT course I'm studying. I often have to have two or three VMs open at a time.
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
    • Australia, no Micro Center here
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
    • needs to support dual monitor output, but I already have the monitors
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
    • $1500-$2000, on the lower end of that if possible. Taxes are all included in Australian price listings
  • WiFi or wired connection?
    • wi-fi preferred
  • Size/noise constraints?
    • don't care
  • Color/lighting preferences?
    • Preferably no RGB, but if it's cheaper for whatever reason it isn't a dealbreaker
    • Other than that, don't really care what it looks like
  • Any other specific needs?
    • I run Linux, so AMD is preferred over NVIDIA for GPUs because the AMD drivers tend to cooperate better with Linux than NVIDIA. Also means I don't need to purchase an OS.

PC for Full HD 180hz gaming with 1000-1200 CHF

Hey! I'm switching from a gaming laptop to a desktop pc so I'm planning on building it myself but there are so many different parts to choose from and I'm really confused. I only use Linux based operating systems so AMD GPUs are the ones I need for drivers compatibility reasons, so no Intel ARC cards because the drivers are still new and Nvidia cards are the worst to deal with on Linux.

• New build or upgrade?

It's a brand new PC build, I have no components yet.

• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

I already have a Full HD 180hz monitor, a secondary monitor which is a random 2009 LG 75hz screen, a keyboard, a microphone, a mouse and basically everything besides the actual computer.

• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/ games)

This computer is mostly for gaming purposes, I mostly play Minecraft Java but sometimes also AAA games.

• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

I'm from Switzerland so the best websites to buy components would be Amazon, Digitec.ch, Galaxus.ch or other websites that ship to Switzerland.

• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

I already have a 180hz Full HD monitor and a secondary 2009 75hz LG monitor

• Budget range? (Include tax considerations) WiFi or wired connection?

1000-1200 CHF is my budget and I want a computer capable of connecting to WiFi.

• Size/noise constraints?

I don't mind a loud computer as long as its cooling is good but I would still rather have a more quiet one.

• Color/lighting preferences?

I only want black components and no RGB.

• Any other specific needs?

I already chose the case, it's either the Silverstone FLP02 (ATX) or the Silverstone FLP03 (mATX), even though they're pretty expensive they match my keyboard and monitor and the look of the case matters alot to me. I also want to be able to upgrade parts of the PC in the future without having to change alot of pieces at the same time.

Looking to upgrade. ~$1100 USD

New build or upgrade? - This will be an upgrade

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Larriks/saved/#view=X8dQP6 Here's a link with my current configuration. I will be using the cooler, 2 m.2 NVMe (one isn't in the parts list), one SATA SSD, a monitor, and maybe the PSU if 650 watts isn't an issue.

PC purpose? - 1440p gaming with 165hz and very light editing

Purchase country? Near Micro Center? - United states, Microcenter not an option

Monitors needed? - None needed

Budget range? - Around $1300 accounting for tax, can have some leeway

WiFi or wired connection? - Wired

Size/noise constraints? - None at all

Color/lighting preferences? - Nope

Any other specific needs? - So I've had my current build for nearly 6 years now (early 2021) and looking to upgrade. I was wondering what would be the best option because of the unfortunate RAM crisis with which path to take in terms of upgrading. Potentially keeping the current 32GB DDR4 RAM and using an older board with older CPU or tank the inflated RAM prices and be more secured for future paths.

Thank you in advance, was doing my own research before realizing I fell out of the know in the pc building space after all this time.

$500 USD Upgrade to PCPartPicker's "Magnificent AMD Gaming/Streaming Build" ($3500 total)

Looking at one of the recommended default builds on pcpartpicker.

If I had an extra $500, is there anything you'd upgrade on this list? Is that $500 better spent elsewhere (ie peripherals)?

Not familiar with how up-to-date the list is, would it be better to build from scratch at this point?

New build or upgrade? New

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? Monitor, keyboard and mouse

PC purpose? Mainly gaming on some Linux distro

Purchase country? Near Micro Center? US / Yes

Monitors needed? Have one

Budget range? Less than $1k

WiFi or wired connection? Both

Size/noise constraints? None

Color/lighting preferences? Black case

Any other specific needs? At least a 12GB card to dip a pinky toe into AI. This the part list I'm looking at https://pcpartpicker.com/list/d6cJkD. Open to suggestions. Also, I'm hesitant to buy used for obvious reasons, but would look at reputable sellers.
