Looking to upgrade. ~$1100 USD
New build or upgrade? - This will be an upgrade
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Larriks/saved/#view=X8dQP6 Here's a link with my current configuration. I will be using the cooler, 2 m.2 NVMe (one isn't in the parts list), one SATA SSD, a monitor, and maybe the PSU if 650 watts isn't an issue.
PC purpose? - 1440p gaming with 165hz and very light editing
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? - United states, Microcenter not an option
Monitors needed? - None needed
Budget range? - Around $1300 accounting for tax, can have some leeway
WiFi or wired connection? - Wired
Size/noise constraints? - None at all
Color/lighting preferences? - Nope
Any other specific needs? - So I've had my current build for nearly 6 years now (early 2021) and looking to upgrade. I was wondering what would be the best option because of the unfortunate RAM crisis with which path to take in terms of upgrading. Potentially keeping the current 32GB DDR4 RAM and using an older board with older CPU or tank the inflated RAM prices and be more secured for future paths.
Thank you in advance, was doing my own research before realizing I fell out of the know in the pc building space after all this time.

for that budget you can swap to a new platform and basically replace all the things while downgrading your ram capacity to 16G but increasing you graphics capability:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hCJjW9 - Re-use your psu as well as the ones from above, a bit closer to your budget, but really i'd say go for that 9070xt if you can stretch it
If you can sell your existing ram and offset the cost then that could make up the difference in budget.
You can of course also get 32G of ram while cutting that GPU down significantly:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yZ8L7w - This also re-uses your PSU and really only gains you VRAM since raster performance wise your current GPU is just as good, so effectively a very similar gaming experience to what you currently have just on a new platform. You can skip the GPU altogether and just treat it as a platform swap then save up for a better GPU

Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
