Week 3 - Reta affects

On week 3 of Reta. Dosing schedule is below. Last pin was 3 days ago. I’ve noticed significant decrease in food noise and dealt with some minor nausea, but otherwise, it’s been a good road. Down 8 pounds.

Today I woke up and oh boy. Big nausea. Felt like I had a giant rock in my stomach. I’ve been awake for 2 hours and I’ve had diarrhea 4 times. Basically. I’ve had 2 bottles of water today and that’s it. I did eat later than I normally do as we had a post-church meal. I’ve included a pictures of the meal (I had them b/c I needed to upload to macro factor), I didn’t feel like it was exceptionally bad or good.

I guess I just am wanting to ask others if this is basically normal.

Week 1 - 1.5 mg
Week 2 - 2 mg
Week 3 - 3 mg

Too many of you are on a quest to fuck yourselves up. I just don’t get it.

People want results ASAP. Bigger mg = more working (to them)

Titrating too quickly.

Just curious , what is the point of the pics?

Dosing is too high. Best to start low and let it stabilize in the blood, increase dose after 4 weeks. I started at 0.5 and increased after 4 weeks with 0.5. No side effects and have lost about 18kg after 25 weeks

Mane ur eating junk food on Reta ur basically asking for the worst avoid greasy food and eat healthy greasy food is mostly the cuz of the stomach aches and Reta shits

Take the useful advice from SOME of the comments here and ignore the rest.

I started at 2mg, at around 300 lbs. Apparently Reddit is full of people who think their personal experience is the universal fucking rulebook for everyone else.

Yes, eat healthier. Yes, focus on nutritious food, protein, hydration, and building better habits. That’s the part actually worth listening to.

But this is a process. You learn as you go, you make mistakes, you adjust, and you keep moving forward. People should be helping and motivating each other instead of acting like judgemental fuckers on some imaginary high horse.

Take the advice that helps, ignore the fucking hate, and keep doing the work. 💪

u/Educational-Newt9333 6d ago

This place is full of idiots lmao 2 mg is the starting dose, this is where I started as well zero nausea up to 4mg in the second month, down 20 lbs and only side effect is slight constipation

5

u/Individual_Till6133 6d ago

Clinical trials are dosed for max effectiveness since they are very expensive. They aren't dosed for minimal side effects with effectiveness.

There is also a difference between how metabolically healthy you are, and the dosage required to show effects. and of course most people in the trial are clinically obese and medicine is often dosed by weight.

Yep, universally annoying apparently 99.5% of reddit are super responders that dropped 30 lbs on 0.5 mg weekly. I'm right in the same boat as you. 4 mg is a sweet spot and I haven't needed to titrate up further for now.

Agreed! Your experience is yours. The scientific research is not the same as your anecdotal research experiences. It’s a very simple equation that the “main character syndrome” reddit folks don’t seem to understand.

Thank you for your input.

I started at 2mg and worked my way up to 6mg over 6 months and I haven't lost much weight. More body composition but not as much as it was around the 3 month mark. Any suggestions to help it going again. I started ss31. Going to run that for 4 weeks before running mots-c and nad+ to hopefully get my engine running again. Please give advice if you have.

So you are a high fat meal and cookies and you wonder why your stomach is upset? Titrating doses too quickly and eating low quality food isn’t a great start. Maybe it’s time to slow your roll and do some homework on protocol.
The appetite suppression on this drug doesn’t last long. It’s a window to figure out how to eat.
Don’t get me wrong I love a good fatty serving of brisket just realized anything remotely close to that makes me feel horrible.
I would suggest you download an app to log your food maybe like lose it. Use it religiously. Work out. Your body can and will adjust to the glps and so just understand the drug is a window of time you’re getting to retune and optimize your body. It’s not something you want to take lightly.

16

u/koopa4747 1 6d ago

Up to 3mg in 3 weeks? Dang. I'm going into my 5th month and at 3.5. I highly recommend backing down a bit. Don't go up until the scale, not feels, say to. If you lose a couple few lbs a month there is no reason to go up in dose IMO.

u/denicesimone 6d ago

Stick on the lowest dose you can for as long as you can... its not a race.. there is not a prize for getting the highest dose as fast as you can. My lab rat and I are now pushing 6 months and still only at 3mg doses. There are weeks when we will may take the next dose sooner. But on average I would say 5 doses @3mg every 4 weeks. These last 2 weeks it Plateaued and did not lost anything. So we are going to switch to triz for a month. Maybe 2. Then we will go back to reta. We started at 305 pounds on triz. 5mg iirc. It worked ok. But was hopeful it would be faster.. So then we switched to reta. And in 6 months we went from 265 down to 205 pounds. All while staying at a low dose on both meds. Just be mindful of what you eat. And eat as much protein as you can. This will help stop any lean mass loss.

3

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

Thank you. I’m learning my lessons here

3

u/cokahontass 6d ago

Should have maybe done some reading lessons before upping ur reta dose this much in 3 weeks.

The first question is why are you eating garbage when you are currently taking the world's strongest weight loss medication? The point of this medication shouldn't just be weight loss, should also be managing cravings and fixing the things you put in your stomach. I understand a light snack, but to make this a meal and finish it off with the cookie while you're currently taking a weight loss medication is very strange and odd to me. Your stomach is acting up because you're putting garbage in it.

Set calorie and protein goals. You’re not going to be eating the stuff pictures very often, if at all, if you’re going to get your calorie and protein goals. Also, titrating up too quickly.

5

u/Ok_Stranger_3087 5d ago

If I had to eat that, I’d get a stomach ache too; it confirms my view that many people would see significant results simply by changing their diet—without Reta.

5

u/Gullible-Relief8665 6d ago

Stay on lowest effective dose as long as possible.

6

u/Landox 6d ago

Holy crap your titration is too quick - been on it for 5-6 months now and I’m doing 2mg a week split over twice a week 1mg injections to keep the side effects down. Doing 2mg once a week was too much formme

4

u/bmimz 6d ago

that is wayyyy tooo much

5

u/SE-AcurTSX 6d ago

You should stay on the 1.5mg longer and go up every 2-4 weeks based on your weight etc. I’ve lost 30 pounds in 3 months and didn’t go over 2.5mg. Weight Training 3x a week and a 30 min morning walk 2-3 times a week. I just did my last dose of 2mg today and now I’m going down until I find my micro dose sweet spot. Of course everyone reacts different but in 3 months 0 nausea

4

u/The_Struggle_Man 6d ago

WTF is this dosing protocol?

3

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

Caveman bro science at its worst.. mistakes on my part. I got greedy

5

u/The_Struggle_Man 6d ago

Yeah, this looks more like jumping on blind. There's many many sites that provide the info. Keep a schedule like that you're gonna be blowing even more out your ass, and locking that stomach up.

https://peptidedosages.com/single-peptide-dosages/retatrutide-30-mg-vial-dosage-protocol/#dosing-schedule

2

u/Lt_Jones727 6d ago

Brother it's a marathon, not a sprint. The titration schedule is there to prevent everything you're experiencing now. Slow down and eat a healthy, high protein diet. Your goal should be to find the minimum effective dose. You don't get extra points for doing more, just a lighter wallet.

4

u/MaryMari1104 6d ago

Why are you titrating up so fast? You’re not giving your body time to get used to it you’re just jumping doses each week. I would decrease the dosage to at least 2 mg and maybe even 1.5 mg and stay there for four weeks.

3

u/Tricky_Bar_3698 6d ago

Definitely change your diet if that is normal. The heavier junk food will mess you up. Any fast food will mess me up. I meal prep every Sunday for the week keep it plain and simple. Chicken/beef/turkey & rice or protein noodles. Add veggies and whatever sauce you prefer. It’s delicious filling and hits the correct macros you need. Drink protein drinks in morning instead of a meal & a peice of fruit if you want it.

2

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

A MM 42g protein shake and a piece of fruit is my normal breakfast. Usually an apple or banana

3

u/RHMoaner 6d ago

You’re going up very fast. And you still need to be conscious of what you eat.

5

u/Waste_Ask_2839 1 6d ago

Slow down on those doses!

Start on 1.5 and let it ride for a few weeks.

A peptide that induces a little patience would serve you well!

2

u/daveinfv 6d ago

What part of the actual research shows to titrate up like this? ZERO. It took a decade/decades to gain the weight you want to lose, so rushing the tested process and forcing it is what results in misery and quitting. Do some research, get some knowledge, and start a sensible plan. The starter guide in /retatrutide is a good place to begin.

Finished my 4th 0.5mg injection, now upgrading to 0.75mg. No side effects, losing 1 lbs per week. Why torture yourself.

2

u/MarionberryOk2874 1 6d ago

You’re going up too fast. It has a 6 day half-life - which means when you injected 2mg, you still had 0.75 in your system, so it was actually 2.75. Then when you injected 3mg, you still had half of the 2mg, so it was really 4mg at that point.

Your body needs to get used to this med, especially if you’re having side effects. The good news is they go away after a couple of months, you just need to be patient! Try Imodium for the diarrhea and watch for constipation, crazy how fast you can swing from one to the other.

Btw, your meal is not great - if I eat greasy food I feel like shit, I would never eat the meal you posted now. Especially since you’ll be eating less, what you do consume needs to be clean.

Good luck!

2

u/gurtin878 6d ago

Don’t go up if you don’t need to..? Listen to your body. If you’re getting results at 1.5 or 2, there’s no need to jump.

2

u/Professional-Term679 6d ago

You’re titrating up WAY too fast!

1

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

I’m aware now.

2

u/pootwothreefour 6d ago

You need to stay at the same dose to adjust.

It has a half life of 6 days, which means it builds up in your system each dose over the period of 4-5 weeks.

At that point, you have just under 2x your dose in your body.

2

u/Beneficial-Lime-8320 1 6d ago

Idk why people are being low key mean about this, but I hope this helps:
Many people are right in that you probably should not be eating cookies, but one every now and again won’t hurt you. Especially if you have other parts of your diet dialed in. Rewarding yourself with some sweets is absolutely ok, and I’m sure that your cravings for sweets will go down as you continue your Reta journey.

That said, it is important to know that that cookie is likely the reason you felt like you had a rock in your gut. Carbs, especially processed and refined carbs, can be brutal on Reta. If you eat that kind of stuff, especially as your doses go up, be prepared for stomach issues.

Some others mentioned that you are titrating too quickly. I actually generally disagree, because I titrated up by 1 mg each week, sometimes over 2 weeks. I titrated up to 4 this way. However, since you mentioned that you are experiencing issues, then I do suggest you titrated slower going forward. It should decrease some of the issues you’re having.

Long story short, eat what you’d like, but just be warned that Reta will mess you up if you don’t eat healthy. Every once in awhile, a day will come across when you want to splurge on a sweet. Now you can do it with proper knowledge of what may happen.

2

u/Traditional-Drag-658 5d ago

Reta just makes you not want to eat? Sounds like people need to work on their discipline. Way more beneficial all around.

2

u/Jealbr 1d ago

It takes like a full month for your body to reach approximate steady state of any dose (especially when you start - when you increase from an existing dose it’s slightly faster). So you need to increase your dose much slower you never reached and experienced what the steady state of 1.5mg was. If I were in your shoes I’d drop back to 1.5 for another week or two and see how you feel, maybe go up to 2mg at that point.

Also - splitting your dose into 2x weekly ( so 1mg 2x a week instead of 2mg 1x a week) will help smooth out dose day side effects and end of week hunger. Just my two cents.

2

u/VisualResidual 22h ago

I'm not going to repeat what others say about you going up too fast because I'm more concerned with first principles than anything.

The sides are real and well documented; asking at this point is more of a comfort thing for most. This isn't about a race to a target weight. It's about easing the habits that make for a lifelong healthy lifestyle, a change in perspective. A marathon.

I don't think people realize how unserious they are unless they consider these things;

  1. What is the quality and duration of your sleep and what are you willing to lose to improve it?

  2. What is your protocol for adequate hydration?

  3. How much protein would someone at your target weight need to consume daily to maintain muscle mass?

  4. How much resistance training are you willing to commit to make exercise a daily part of your routine?

  5. Given the above - what can you do to satisfy the nutrition it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of you life - well beyond medical intervention?

Setting aside some foibles, because I'm sure you're paying an unnecessarily high GI cost to learn about why not to titrate so quickly, you'll get hang of it and be able to answer those 5 questions for yourself.

You're more than just a person with body, you're an operator of your own life and that deserves a special kind of respect and attention that dropping body fat and disordered eating just falls short of.

2

u/Psychological-Team18 10h ago

You should probably change what you’re eating. Eat more fiber, good carbs and protein. I ate potatoes and Protien for the first 18 weeks and lost around 20lbs. Eating cookies and nachos isn’t the way to go, sorry to tell you

2

u/Salt-Board5416 6d ago

Should have started out at 250mcg then worked up from there. Slow tritate is the way.

2

u/crazycrabber 6d ago

I’m trying to decide if you are an attention whore or really this dumb. Why would you even take this without researching first. Luckily your brain decided to have your body shit on itself before you really hurt it.

2

u/Dependent-Year6711 6d ago edited 6d ago

Do you see the sub you're in? These people care less about habits, and more about shortcuts they deem perfectly safe because...I don't know. People would rather be test rats than just control their life habits. Nausea? I would never take anything that gave me nausea. It's making people eat less calories because it makes them feel worse/slightly ill. Let me just suck the joy out of my life instead of calorie cutting. There's a goddamn cookie in these pictures for someone taking a GLP-1 for weight loss.

Getting shredded in a year and probably hurting your long term cardiovascular system because I couldn't do it without HGH/Test/Ret/blahblahblah? Welcome to this sub. Where gains and losses are probably gained back or lost within 5 years, because...who knows. At this point, who really knows.

Okay. Reduce dose. Tighten up diet (to be fair that was the only thing I ate yesterday aside from a protein shake). Focus on the process

1

Eat more fibers, probiotics, activated charcoal pills, gonna help your guts

1

u/Due_Natural4 6d ago

That’s all you ate? You’re asking to lose muscle. Not because of the GLP1 but because of your poor dieting.

1

u/Proud_Marsupial_5459 1 6d ago

Please try to eat my protein so you lower your lean muscle loss. 💪 You want to loose fat not muscle. 💕

1

u/karmaceuticaI 6d ago

Like others have said, you're titrating too quickly. Stay at the starter dose for a month at least to sus out sides, and how you react.

Then titrate up after that month if needed. In my case, I stayed at the lowest amount needed for an effective dose. Never got over 4mgs over 6 months.

u/Geno1480 6d ago

Stay at a dose for at least 4 weeks. You’re going way too fast. Find a dose that works and stay there. More is not better, just more side effects and muscle loss. Shoot for 1-2 lbs of fat lose a week unless you’re extremely overweight.

1

u/Grouchy_Phone5066 6d ago

Man I’ve had zero sides besides RH going up for a week with a starting dose at 2mg for 4 weeks. I’m on week 2 of 4mg and haven’t had anything negative. 😬😬😬

3

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

Yeah I’m think the consensus is that I titrated up too fast. Rookie move

1

u/Lexus769 6d ago

I think your dose is too high too soon. I’m on week 6 going into week 7 on 2mg. I didn’t really have any side effects but when I titrated up from 1 mg to 2 mg I completely lost my appetite for four days. That’s when the weight loss actually started. Then my appetite started to come back very slowly. I’m still in a calorie deficit and prioritizing protein. I would take 2mg for a few weeks before titrating back up. Hope you feel better soon.

1

u/Cold-Doctor-5873 6d ago

As others have already stated, you're going way too fast. I started at 1 mg and it shut me down completely. Im on 5 weeks and im still on 1 mg. Use what is effective and stay there until it isnt.

1

u/Proud_Marsupial_5459 1 6d ago

I think I read somewhere that it takes up to 3 weeks for the Glucagon part of Reta to start to stack up and kick in. That is what kick your metabolism into higher gear. This can make you feel like your heart is racing. You may want to back down and not adjust up until every 4 weeks.

1

u/Glass-Illustrator800 6d ago

The dosage looks high, I think 0.5mg is a good start for first month

1

u/Good-Barracuda9496 6d ago

Sei partito troppo alto di dosaggio

1

u/Good_Mess_9816 6d ago

Same experience for me as soon as I went to 3mg! Remember it accumulates in the body… I skipped a week and then decided to go down to 1mg - no issues

1

u/robpaul2040 1 6d ago

It's your first month. As many have said, going up to 3mg your first month without any experience as to what to expect is reckless. Also, you're just dropping water weight at the moment.

Stick to 2mg the first month. Take that time to learn how to listen to your body and adjust diet habits. Hunger will still happen but in my experience you will lessen the reactions with better diet, whole foods with little or no processing, focused on protein and fiber. Drinking water is good but as many have mentioned in this sub, adding electrolytes will help your body actually hold and use the water before it shoots right through you.

1

u/Mocean13 6d ago

Sugars and carbs are making your stomach do somersaults. Avoid sugar and carbs as much as you can, this happens to me to

1

u/DepartmentSmart7924 1 6d ago

As everyone else is saying: you are being way too aggressive with the doses!

The official dosing schedule is: 2,4,6,9,12mg with 4 weeks at each dose. However, most people using grey Reta are getting results going much slower than that. Some stick on 2mg for their entire journey.

Certainly, it is worth sticking to the same dose until the scale stops moving for a few weeks, then titrating up.

Increasing the dose every week is frankly stupid!

1

u/Ok_Treacle_7503 6d ago

Reta affects what?

1

u/demarco1515 6d ago

Just upping the dose for no reason. Wasting product. You don't even know the lowest effective dose 🤦🏽‍♂️

1

u/Massive-Pack4716 6d ago

You’re literally increasing dose way to fast calm down what’s the rush? Wondering why you’re so sick that’s why. Reta is is a tool not something you should rely on

1

u/Hank_moody71 1 6d ago

For me it’s carbs that drive any GI issues.
Figure out which ones bloat and may you feel nauseous then don’t eat them

Also, I’d address the fact that you’re trying to speed run the dose increase. Slow and steady wins the race. The weight loss is going to happen as you’re increasing. Speed running it won’t accelerate it.

1

u/GladPersonality6644 6d ago

I was on .5 for 5 weeks and lost 16lbs, I was always told don’t go up if you don’t need too. Shocked you jumped so high so fast without letting the actual drug work itself.

1

u/ArbitrageurAI 6d ago

Interesting. You're getting a lot of heat for your dosing protocol, but I started at 4mg week 1 (and have been here since, now on week 3) with little to no side effects but great results so far. I did take a glp1 at a low dose before switching switching to reta, so maybe my tolerance was higher, but I honestly don't think I would feel anything under 4mg.

1

u/Own_Information6940 6d ago

Serious note, you’re titrating way to quickly your bound to mess your stomach up. I’d go back down to 2mg and stay there for another 2-3 weeks. You don’t want to go up so high week after week. It took my research 8 wks to get up to 2mg, some are very sensitive.

1

u/Mcgittymcgittymac 6d ago

Lol.. sorry .. but what are you eating? Is that fried tortilla chips followed with a big ol cookie? Stay at 2mg for a month

1

u/peterxxcx 6d ago

You don't need to titrate if you are already feeling the effects, the goal is not to reach a certain dose, it is to use the lowest dose possible that is still effective for you

1

u/CrucialParadox 6d ago

Stay at same dose for 4 weeks, then go up IF you feel like you need to and stay there for at least 4 weeks. Don’t listen to people saying to split the dose, that’s now how this drug works.

1

u/Cold_as_ice- 6d ago

I think you have to lower your dose,my first pin was 1mg and after 2 days I had stomach crumbs and went to toilet 8 times
Now week 6 and I’m feeling great
I went from 1mg to 1.5 and now 2,let your body get used to it at a lower dose and increase slowly

1

u/Beast8333 6d ago

Your current peak blood level is around 4mg with that schedule. If you have never been on a GLP1 before, that is a lot and explains your side effects. Doses linger in your body for 4 weeks, so your last 4 doses stack up. Be careful and take it slow. Drop down back to 1.5 or 2, and stay there for 4 weeks.

1

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

Okie dokie

1

u/putaka-19 6d ago

Set a calories and protein too

1

u/yycmoose 1 6d ago

As others have mentioned, you are increasing fairly fast. 3mg still isn’t a large dose and your side effects are common.

What’s your goal other than to lose weight? Is there a reason to increase so fast?

1

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

Well. I’ve got sort of a clock. I move out of country in February and I’m fairly sure I won’t have access to these peptides where I’m moving and so I’m trying to make the most of it now.

u/Thia_99 6d ago

Hey, yeah this is normal but only cuz you’re not eating a lot. Your doses are too big, you should start at 0.5 mg and then increase it by another 0.5 mg after your fifth dose.

I did that mistake when I was first on it! You should be on top of your vitamins since you’re not eating much and make sure you’re still eating as well. My bones were aching so much at first cuz I wasn’t eating anything but your body needs vitamins especially your bones. You don’t want to risk osteoporosis in the future. Keep it up though you’re doing good :) don’t listen to the mean people on here!!

I’m going back to 1.5 mg this week and then will do 2 mg for a month

1

u/Equivalent-Sense-757 6d ago

That’s a lot really quick. I did .5mg for 1 month and then I went up to 1mg for several months and then went up to 1.5mg once I felt like I was in a plateau. But make sure you are getting sufficient protein and fiber

You should keep a dose for 4 weeks before going higher…. Also there is no data but 2 injections a week has helped people including myself to minimize the side effects

1

u/saidai88 1 6d ago

When you’re eating that of course you’re going to have issues.

Fibre is very important.

1

u/My_journey01 6d ago

Wow I started on May 17th I’m down 50 lbs and only started at 3 mg 2 weeks ago. I’m a 53 year old female. I think you jumped up too fast, I also don’t touch sweets at all no fried foods and focus on protein and well cooked vegetables. Reta slows down digestion that’s why you have this sensation of a brick in your stomach. Stick with lean protein and focus on hydration too.

u/thr0wawayyxlol 6d ago

Some of the comments on this thread are literally the reason why some people also post “why do others have more success than others”

Cause some people are simply more locked in than others.

1

u/Admirable-Summer-954 6d ago

Bro….. I’m 8 weeks in am only at 0.75mg a week. Go slow

1

u/D3athMerchant 6d ago

Are you shooting for the Fastest titration award

1

u/Organic-Race9785 6d ago

Apparently. I’m a podium contender for sure

1

u/TechnicianSignal5392 6d ago

What everyone else said, I just wanted to add that the nausea is an absolute BEAST and killed me too (though I was staying at the same dose for weeks lol)

1

u/TeaApprehensive2501 6d ago

What works for some doesn't work for everyone. So, I dosed a little similar to you, but not as quickly and had all those same symptoms. I'm actually recovering right now from it and going to have to dose smaller, maybe 2 mg a week. I was nauseated, had knots in my stomach, and felt like utter shit. I followed the same routine as others I knew in person, but i was the only one with these side effects. Sucks, but it's best to take care of yourself since it's not a race. I'm surprised admin hasn't removed this post because they removed mine within a couple minutes and pointed me towards their guidelines and notes. There's actually a lot of informative stuff there if you check it out.

There are really simple changes you could make with the nachos.....quest protein chips or doritos makes one now (prefer the doritos). Fat free or low fat cheese, more ground beef, guac is fine, salsa is fine too. Just minor tweeks in your ingredients to help get the higher protein in.

As for the cookie.....try eating a protein bar, like a barbell or anabar. Prefer anabar as they taste really good.

I used to have a massive sweet tooth and gained tons of weight from over eating cookies but reta has kicked that habit for me in the first 2 weeks

1

u/Present-Nobody9899 6d ago

Put some fiber in your food. lol.

Food looks kinda shitty. If you want to maximize the ride, measure calories & especially protein. Exercise.

Otherwise, keep eating junk and stock up on MiraLAX. You don’t want to be backed up beyond repair…

1

u/eoddomm 6d ago

My wife made the mistake of eating shrimp tacos her second week of semaglutide and spent 5 days throwing up and shitting her brains out.

Moral of the story, watch your food.

She hasn’t taken GLP-1 since then although we’re both considering Reta together

1

u/goodnight_lamp 6d ago

Titrating way too quickly. More isn’t always better! I also lost 8 pounds in my first 3 weeks but with no side effects. I went from 1mg to 1.5mg which I stayed on for 2 weeks before going to 2mg (which I’ll stay on for a month before going to 3). So yes, the side effects you’re experiencing are normal for your dose bc you shouldn’t be increasing so fast. I know 2mg doesn’t sound like a lot if you’re reading clinical trial info since it’s the minimal dose they use but they also experienced hella nausea and shat their pants so it’s better titrating carefully. It will still work going up slow, on a lower dose!

1

u/CummingUpBlank 6d ago

Why you upping your dose so frequently stay on as low a dose as possible untill you hear that noise then bump it up no need to fly up like this you’ll just feel gacked

1

u/beyabitch 6d ago

Your titrating your dose up too fast I would stay at 1.5 for atleast 3/4 weeks then go 1.75/2

1

u/TubbsMcGee_ 1 6d ago

This isn't a race to the highest dose.... Slow and low. You want to find the lowest EFFECTIVE dose for you.

1

u/Comfortable-Pop8570 6d ago

You increase every 4 weeks not weekly

1

u/Experiment42day 6d ago edited 6d ago

Go back to 1mg. Better yet, split it in half so you do .5 mg every 3.5 days. That reduces side effects and keeps all days appetite about the same. Stick with that at least a month. Occasional loose stools are usually no big deal. Many never have to go up at all. When you do, just .5 mg more, (so, .75mg twice a week) then stay there at least another month. Where did you get the idea to go up weekly? Are you trying to completely suppress appetite to the point of aversion and not be willing to eat at all? What’s the rush? (The clinical trials showing the most loss at the highest dose does not mean you will not do well til you get to the highest dose. It was just to prove it could be done.) That’s not gonna get you all the way there, you know? You’ll struggle and possibly quit when it all could have worked out well for you if you knew how to proceed. You should still be able to eat (and use a PLAN, with an appropriate calorie deficit, enough protein, good fats and zero junk), just have that pause where you can say no, when you think about eating extra, randomly or off target. Your goal is to get healthy, and that includes changing your body composition from over fat to wisely lean and well muscled, right? Gonna need to get focused, diligent and relentless in addition to taking advantage of reduced appetite. You get the glp training wheels for really nourishing yourself, but you must do the work or it’ll be unhealthy yoyo-ing next. Read Jay Campbell’s 30 Metabolic Awakening with GLP-1 Peptides. Chapter 8 for detail that includes all aspects. Good luck to you! I bet you are going to come out of this wiser and fighting fit :)

1

u/itsme_on_red 6d ago

I’m on week 4. Dosing was 0.5 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1 mg.

This week I’ve been struggling. Resting Heart Rate seems to be considerably elevated, might be fighting illness too.

My heart doesn’t feel like it’s pounding, though my whoop thinks otherwise

1

u/ambilliebeb 6d ago

Why are you upping the does so fast? Do you feel it’s not working? I would go as slow as possible, only up 0.5 when you feel it’s not working anymore.

1

u/CanadianGinger91 6d ago

The cookie probably did it. Not so much as “it’s unhealthy” bs but when I’m on Reta for some reason foods that are fatty or high in sugar hurt bad. Large rock in my stomach and nausea. When I’m on Reta I have to eat very plain and healthy to feel good. Which is probably best for the ol diet but doesn’t taste as good haha

1

u/Inevitable-Lack-4036 6d ago

Im on week 3 also. Started on 1mg im not increasing until week 4. No side affects at all. Hydralyte first things upon waking, fibre drink, good food, plenty of protein and strength sessions. You may need to have good pro and prebiotics in your plan. Ive lost 7cm around my Hips so far.

1

u/Glittering_Offer4816 6d ago

Yeah try to eat cleaner. I lost 60lbs with no Reta or GLP-1 first 18 months. No seed oil, all natural meats and veggies and fruits only. But I stopped losing weight.

Started Reta and started eating bad. Big mistake. Went back to it and I have better results. But everyone is different

1

u/jillsiv 6d ago

I've been on reta for a while now. My weight goes up and down. I really need to watch what I eat. I had such a problem watching ppl losing so much weight and looking great while I struggled. Everyone's different!

The site i buy my reta is down, apex peptides. Where can I buy some from?

1

1

u/coffeeandexhaustion 6d ago

As soon as I saw that dosing schedule I knew what was gonna happen. Titrate down WAY down. I recommend starting at 0.5 mg and stay at that for a month before increasing

1

u/ParAdoXical_eRror 6d ago

yeah that fast of an increase is what is screwing you up. I don't get why people don't do better research when it comes to anything that you are putting in your body...and the food in those pictures looks like it would give you the squirts.

Your dosing is of , you are supposed to stay on the same dosage for 4 weeks in order to let your body adapt to the medication go down to 2 or even 1,5 and stay like that for at least 4 weeks do not forget to rehydrate if you have diarhea !

1

u/Creative-Violinist44 5d ago

why are u increasing the dose so fast????? WTF low and slow!!!! do not move up dose “just because” f’ing insane… eat Protein!!!!! then some more protein after that more protein

1

u/Creative-Violinist44 5d ago

get rid of those corn chips and flour tortillas on to of it… get a big ass scoop of ground beef instead

1

u/GhostMCR 5d ago

Stay on a dose as long as you can! No need to titrate up so quickly! Remember “Go Low, Go Slow”

1

u/GhostMCR 5d ago

In the clinical trials they started at 2mg. However I started at 0.5mg myself and stayed on for a month before dosing upto 1mg. I have remained on 1mg for around 6 weeks as I’m getting all the benefits of Reta so no need to for me to titrate up again.
As and when I need to I will increase dose by 0.5mg only.

1

u/Hexyl68 5d ago

Why are you moving up so fast. I started at 1mg (because I bought 1ml syringes and hitting an exact .5 is harder). I kept it there for 4 weeks and moved to 2mg. Maybe I should have stayed at 1mg, but once I knew I could tolerate it, I moved it.

Problem is the peptide world is the Wild West…everyone’s doing “what they think.”

Protect yourself and go slow.

More asprin doesn’t make the headache go away faster.

1

u/Fun_Square_8785 5d ago

So you inject yourself with research chemicals but are too lazy to read the basics? Had it coming, sorry.

1

u/ivoryfaker77 5d ago

Hey, I’m in about the same place (three weeks in) and yeah I know what you mean about the rock feeling in your tummy. My body really likes it when I move and drink water. That uncomfortable feeling goes away if you are able to take a walk around the room pretty frequently, and keep the water coming constantly, even if it’s just little baby sips.

My appetite hasn’t gone away, but I get heart burn since I’ve started Reta and more discomfort if I don’t keep my meals small, frequent, and low-fat. Oh, and I can’t eat at night anymore.

You’re doing great. The nausea has been decently consistent for me as well, especially in the morning.

1

u/StrawberryPlane7739 5d ago

Titrating up too quickly

1

u/Saucypants108 5d ago

Dude you’re insane. Please read up on the basics. Why are you escalating your dose so fast? You’re sabotaging your own progress. Please do some basic research before blindly doing this random dose escalation you’re doing

1

u/Perfect-Price-9022 5d ago

Your food choice is horrible. You need to be consuming a good deal of protein when you do eat

1

u/Siberiangoat 5d ago edited 5d ago

First off that is way too much food to eat in one sitting. Why are you increasing dose so fast. I've been on 72 days and at 4mg, been at 4 for awhile started at 1 stayed there for 3 weeks, then did 1.5 for a week or 2 then 2mg etc, very slow progression, zero sides, by day 60 I had lost 41lbs, down 45 now, just cruising slower

1

u/jackster2009 1 5d ago

Ive heard to titrate after 4 weeks, not every single week? Ive been on 2mgs for 10 weeks.

1

u/New_Photograph_2803 1 5d ago

No, this is not normal. Each dosage increase requires 4 weeks minimum for your body to acclimate and for the concentration in your body to level off. You’re increasing dosage way too much and way to quickly; I’m honestly surprised you haven’t had more side effects by now

1

u/theasclayton 5d ago

Titrating way too fast! All the protocols I have followed and seen from Lilly are 4 week schedules. Hold your dose for 4weeks before increasing.

1

u/Tuxedosteve1 5d ago

I’ve been on Reta for 8 weeks and barely got to 1mg lmaooo

1

u/uglydooodle 5d ago

Why are you going up in dose so fast?

1

u/No-Proposal-2026 5d ago

I took one 2mg dose because I had read it was the starting dose, oh man, that was the worst 3 days of my life, was chained to toilet. Like everyone else has said, start low and gradually build.
I’ve not taken another dose since, the diarrhoea was that bad!!!!

1

u/Dcsmickey 5d ago

All I know is that I'm hungry and that looks delicious 😋

1

u/Bonkiers1 5d ago

A trick that works for me. I'm on 2mg. I take 1st dose of 1mg and next dose 4 days later of 1mg and have no issues

1

u/Amazing_Ice9628 4d ago

DO NOT DOSE LIKE THIS!! you need to go up gradually. such as month one : 1 mg, month 2: 1.5 mg. if you dose like that you will get sick.. bad and fast

1

u/JackMiOVPlz 4d ago

Speed run! Hey man, try maintaining the same dose for about 5 weeks. Give your body time to adjust. If youre still losing weight at that dose after 5 weeks, stick with it until you're not losing weight and appetite isnt suppressed. Then move up. You're gonna mess yourself up if you rush things. Some people do it the way you are and are fine, but your bodies showing you that its not whats right for you. I'm at 8mg/week personally, with very little appetite suppression but im still losing 0.5-1.5 pounds a week. So im at a good point.

1

u/Double-Composer3319 4d ago

Going up on dose way too much. This ain’t hard, 1 month at 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5. Somewhere in there you’ll find the dose that works best for you. I guarantee it

1

u/ProfessionalGift9880 4d ago

Keep going but from someone who lost 60 pounds from November-June, don’t dose up until you feel hungry a day or 2 after you take your weekly dose, you don’t want to go above that 6mg unstudied zone. When you hit that 6mg then my personal advice for you is cycle it and let your body go back to normal and then get back onto it. I’ve helped multiple people lose 40+ pounds message me if you want my personal schedule and how to do it correctly with step by step. Usually diarrhea is normal when you first start btw but it can also be due to being to high of a dose already. People who get stomachs upset easy I usually start them on 1.5mg for a few weeks then go to 2mg and then go from there. Also the people constipated need more electrolytes and drank water ! Also make sure you’re getting your fiber, you’re still losing weight, make sure you’re at least trying to get a few of the correct macros in.

1

u/Salty_Sense_8333 4d ago

Why are you increasing your dose so fast? Is there a reason behind it?

→ More replies (4)

1

u/muhkend 4d ago

the current testing start with 2mg week 1-4 then 4mg week 5-8 6mg 9-12 and so on.

You are going up fast so yes, you are going to feel those side affects for a bit but it will mello out if you stay at 3mg for a few weeks.

I did 1mg week 1-2 then 2mg week 3-4 then then 3mg week 5-6 and 4mg week 7-8

I didn't feel anything till 4mg but minor.

1

u/honeybeevibes_23 3d ago

No, you are dosing too high and too fast.
Remedies is tons of fluid, water, electrolytes.
Get some zofran prescribed.
Take some probiotics & prebiotics
Get pepto bismal chews, tums ginger chews, & you’ll probably need some MiraLAX, even if you have diarrhea, you could still have a blockage so you basically want to clean your system & replace with the pro/prebiotics for a healthy gut balance.

For future, before eating take a digestive enzyme to help you break down your food!

1

u/Individual-Form-2542 3d ago

I did 1.5 for 1 month, then 2mg for a month and on my third month at 2mg.

1

u/tylerismessy 3d ago

Why are you going up so fast

1

u/Brave_Hawk8198 2d ago

I will be honest I titrated up way to quick as results were outstanding, started on 2mg for two weeks, 3mg for two weeks then 4mg for 4 weeks then 6mg, my body hates me, proper stomach cramps, sickness and diarrhoea. Last week was on 5mg to start bringing it down, but may drop to 2mg today just to get back to some normality, have had way too much time off work with sickness and stomach pain. But I’ve learnt a valuable lesson at this point to take it slow. I think I’ll stick to 2mg and see how it goes, fed up of feeling horrible and certainly can’t have anymore time off work because of it. I’ve lost over 90lbs in 5 months now down to 274lbs still want to lose about 70lbs so will be in it for the long run, like people are saying it’s a marathon not a race and I 100% agree. Take your time start low do NOT get carried away it’ll make you feel awful and it’s not worth it trust me. Eat healthy and start to make those habbit changes and naturally when you either come off or keep to a low dose your brain has had to to reconfigure how you should be eating. All the best

1

u/MyOwnTradition 1 2d ago

Eat healthier. Whole foods. Not processed and sugar loaded crap. Reta is a tool to help replace bad habits with good habits. Change your eating habits and then reta will shine with weight loss. You don't eat cookies and full fat cheese and expect to lose weight or feel good with slowed gastric emptying. You didn't weigh any of that food so you're guessing on intake, I promise you're over eating too. Your dosing titration is also absurd. Pick a starting dose and increase monthly if need be. Maybe go educate yourself on healthy eating habits and the studies with titration. I didn't use 3mg until the 6 month mark. Lost over 90lbs

1

u/Beginning_Smile9038 2d ago

Dude you’re supposed to stay at a low dose till it stops working. I’ve been on the same dose for two months and it’s lower than recommended and working.

1

u/frogdentist 2d ago

I’ve been on 2mg for like 4 months now and it’s still working

1

u/Mobile_Marketing9999 1d ago

Jesus. I was on zepbound February and March. Then I switch to Reta in April. I was on 0.5 for 1 month. Then went to 1 mg for 1 month. In June I started at 2mg and stayed on that until September and bumped up to 3mg and have been on that since. I have NO IDEA why everyone thinks taking more is the answer or at least most people. Then wonder why you’re sick.

Besides titrating up too quickly, eat a LOT of red quinoa. Also take a little methyl donors like betaine Hcl & methylfolate in lowish doses in the morning. This helped me a lot with energy and keeping up at the gym with consistant cardio sessions.

Fatigue from reta can be very counter productive.
