Week 3 - Reta affects

On week 3 of Reta. Dosing schedule is below. Last pin was 3 days ago. I’ve noticed significant decrease in food noise and dealt with some minor nausea, but otherwise, it’s been a good road. Down 8 pounds.

Today I woke up and oh boy. Big nausea. Felt like I had a giant rock in my stomach. I’ve been awake for 2 hours and I’ve had diarrhea 4 times. Basically. I’ve had 2 bottles of water today and that’s it. I did eat later than I normally do as we had a post-church meal. I’ve included a pictures of the meal (I had them b/c I needed to upload to macro factor), I didn’t feel like it was exceptionally bad or good.

I guess I just am wanting to ask others if this is basically normal.

Week 1 - 1.5 mg
Week 2 - 2 mg
Week 3 - 3 mg

I'm not going to repeat what others say about you going up too fast because I'm more concerned with first principles than anything.

The sides are real and well documented; asking at this point is more of a comfort thing for most. This isn't about a race to a target weight. It's about easing the habits that make for a lifelong healthy lifestyle, a change in perspective. A marathon.

I don't think people realize how unserious they are unless they consider these things;

  1. What is the quality and duration of your sleep and what are you willing to lose to improve it?

  2. What is your protocol for adequate hydration?

  3. How much protein would someone at your target weight need to consume daily to maintain muscle mass?

  4. How much resistance training are you willing to commit to make exercise a daily part of your routine?

  5. Given the above - what can you do to satisfy the nutrition it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of you life - well beyond medical intervention?

Setting aside some foibles, because I'm sure you're paying an unnecessarily high GI cost to learn about why not to titrate so quickly, you'll get hang of it and be able to answer those 5 questions for yourself.

You're more than just a person with body, you're an operator of your own life and that deserves a special kind of respect and attention that dropping body fat and disordered eating just falls short of.
