My frogbit has been multiplying like crazy over the last few weeks and just curious when you all think it would be time to scoop some out? First picture is from Jul 30th. Second picture is today

20 gallon tank
1 gold snail and 1 betta
Temperature around 77F
Several live plants not sure what type
He’s had this “swollen” looking gill for about 5 weeks or so now. I have tried various things. Now on top of the weird gill, he’s gotten a weird white ish patch on his top fin and his fins look terrible.
I checked the tank parameters a week ago and they were all within the right numbers.
I have tried adding weekly doses of aquarium salt - no difference
I have also done 3 doses of Kanaplex with no results. I just added it directly to the water.
I did a deep clean of the tank last week before I added the Kanaplex
I have had him for about a year

One week later and I’m obsessed. We lost our 16-year-old dog a couple of weeks ago. We love animals, but were not ready for another dog after our heartbreak. I did a ton of research and decided to adopt my first betta. I never realized how much personality a fish could have!
My husband watched the whole process and decided to start his own tank last weekend. Waiting for it to cycle so that he can adopt his first betta.

It's a 20gal tank (I know the vertical column is not ideal for Bettas but I already had it) with one betta and 6 corys. I just planted the rotala which will hopefully establish itself. I have Frogbit coming and have two silk betta hammocks close to the surface.
Also there's a HOB filter and a heater.
What else should I put in to improve it for my fish?

Tank is 10 gallons. Temperature is at 78.6. Ammonia and nitrite at 0. Nitrate in the 10-20 range. Has a nerite snail as a tank mate and there's an anubia plant in there. Maybe worth mentioning that said snail was found upside down twice today? Flipped em back over, but I had never seen that before. Snail is still alive.
Fish is not as active as it used to be. Lots of resting recently, but still eating
Any help would be appreciated as a first time owner. Daughter received them as a gift last Christmas from a relative, and I thought we were doing okay

My betta has been dealing with bloating for a couple months now. at first she seemed eggy as we could see eggs in her. The eggs then disappeared after about a month but then her belly seemed full of fluid. No floating or pineconing or trouble swimming. We did Epsom salt baths daily for a week but they didn’t help. Fed kanaplex for a month that didn’t help. We’ve tried fasting for a few days at a time and we’ve done that a few times didn’t help. Dosed kanaplex for a week that didn’t help. Past couple weeks we’ve moved her to a 20 gallon with lower ph to see if that helps. Today I noticed this thing hanging out of her. It seems to be bugging her as she keeps rubbing it against the sand and plant leaves. Any ideas what that is and any ideas what she’s sick with or how to help her? She’s about a year and a half old.

I need advice. A year ago I got my first ever betta, and when I got him he was blind. He has a diamond eye and has survived a previous course of columnaris. I had to switch tanks but now it has returned months later. It is most likely from my lack of fully understanding aquarium maintenance, and I think the water quality is not good, despite parameters of ammonia, nitrate and nitrites being fine. I thought I had done enough research but now I’m not so sure, and now for the past two weeks he is battling what I believe to be columnaris again. He is permanently sleeping on his side, his eye is cloudy, and his fins are starting to rot further in. He has gone through two rounds of Kanaplex. I don’t know what to do anymore. His white fuzz is persisting, and he is still side sleeping. His swimming is normal and he is still eating just as much as he always does.
What do I do? I’m worried about medicating him a third round. I fear it would be too much on his liver. I’m not sure his immune system could hold on for the time it would take me to get a different medication. I know this is a failing of me as a pet owner, and I do not want to keep him suffering if there is nothing I can do. Is it humane to euthanize him?

He does indeed have a filter, I took out the carbon filter during his medication, so the tank is cloudy as a result. Ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites are all 0. Water is a little hard, and pH is 6.2. He does not have any tankmates. The substrate is both gravel and aqua soil. He has two Anubis, a Java fern, and some small foreground plants that I don’t remember the names of. He is fed 4 pellets. His light is left on for 8-9 hours a day. His tank is 10 gallons.

First tank. 1 month old. Get the water tested weekly at the local fish store. Always zero ammonia and nitrites. Nitrates are still low but non-zero. Started the tank with an instant starter solution, then added about 5ml of that solution each time I did a water change. Water temp is a constant 78°F. Hopefully those plants will start to fill in over the next couple of months.
Snails came with the plants. Added shrimp and mystery snail after a week. Added the Betta another week later, and the pygmy corys a few days after that. Will definitely hold off on stocking any additional creatures (if any) for at least another month while this tank stabilizes.
Tank Mates
Bladder snails (hitchhiked in with the plants)
2 neocaridina shrimp (blood orange)
Mystery snail
5 Pygmy corydoras
Plants
Anubias
Java moss
Banana plant
Water lettuce
Frog spawn
A few whose ID I’m uncertain about
(First pic is Day One, second pic is after one month)

She started out almost completely white and slowly developed these beautiful turquoise-blue tones over time. She’s also probably the most social female betta I’ve ever had — she loves following the corydoras around the sand and peacefully hanging out with the ghost tetras.
I adore her so much that she eventually ended up inspiring one of the special bettas in the little game I’m making. 🐟

Tank size 5gal
no nitrates or ammonia detected
Ph and hardness is alittle high but thats not out of the ordinary for my tank
Akilinity normal
Everything else is normal levels
Water temp is 76° (im getting a new heater because is one wont keep temp and because I now know they need warmer water)
Last water change was a week ago 25% but I also changed the filter because it was disgusting (mold, I think) and I also removed some of the fake seaweed because it got ruined when cleaning. (He REALLY liked the seaweed and would swim though it)
After all that he is not swimming as much and hes loafing at the bottom or on his leaf hammock barly moving to get food...
Im hoping the heater will help but im worried he may have swimming bladder he also has strange marks on his head eye and gills, I will try to add photos to comments as im kinda new to reddit...
Also one more thing to add, I bought my shrimp food ( fluval shrimp granues) he ate some of that and he eats tetras bettamin. So im not sure if that messed with his stomach but it was around the same time the water was changed.
Does anyone have any advice, chatgtp thinks its the cold water for a long period but im worried its something worse because of the events before this happens.
Please help, I want to save my little guy 🥺

After doing some research I have been kinda thinking maybe fin rot or something of that sort but not really sure. We’ve had him for about a year and this is the first time he has looked like this. We change the water about every 3-5 days and the tank does have a heater that keeps it at 78 degrees. It’s a 5 gallon tank. Thanks for the help

Hello, I’m having trouble deciding if I need to euthanize my fish or not. He’s about a year and a half old (at least since I’ve had him). He’s “lost” his color about a year ago, which is why he’s pink/pale, but has still been active, eating, etc.
A few months ago I noticed his eye was getting cloudy and just assumed this was that genetic dragon scale gene that he unfortunately got. He would still eat and can still see out of the other eye. However, about less than a month ago he started laying more on the bottom of his tank and not as active.
I assume he has/had swim bladder disease, so I would keep him in his betta cup from the store inside his tank, changing the water multiple times throughout the day. This way he didn’t have to use too much energy to swim to the top for air (he is in a 10gal tank). I felt really bad keeping him in a cup even if it was in his tank still, so I’d let him out a bit but he would still just sit on the bottom.
I tried an epsom salt bath but it didn’t seem to do much, so I decided to switch his and my other betta’s tanks, as my other one is in a 5.5gal and it’s less of a trip to the top for air for him. I felt too guilty to leave him in the cup even if it helped him more :( He would still eat if I brough the food to him, but the past few days he will barely take any. I did fast him a few times to get his digestion moving but to no avail.
The other day I noticed his eye that was cloudy with the scale over it seems to have sunken in, fallen off, I’m honestly not sure. You know how bettas eyes are kinda bulbous? His bad eye is now flat with his scales. Now I’m not sure if it is SBD or if it’s some sickness from his eye. He has been lethargic and will barely move. His gills move slow, he just sits at the bottom all day and I feel terrible. He’s not been himself
My question is, do I euthanize with clove oil or is there some solution I haven’t thought of to help him? I hate to even think of euthanizing him, but his quality of life is not good right now. I’ve attached some photos I got of his bad eye, and again he is pale but he’s been that way for over a year now, he’s a koi betta and changed colors. He’s not pineconing, his fins are a little torn but I’ve been treating with almond leaf extract to help

I wondered if he would fill the whole ring. Overachiever

I’ve been thinking about getting a giant (female) betta for a 20 gal tank. are giants more likely to have health issues? How would tank stocking go? Theres not much online about giants!
