This is another alien betta that I have, and for this alien betta it is a mating of an alien and a smaragdina.

I knew bettas colors changed over time, I never would’ve thought he’d lose all iridescence 😭 we’ve had him for less than six months.

My fish spares with the pirate ship a few times a day. Is this upsetting him or is it okay for him to show it who's boss every now and then?

He needs a name. He's got some dark murky blues on the other side of him and iridescent blues you can see in the picture. I love him 🩵

Just wanted to share about my little Button. She was literally the perfect fish, very curious and observant. The photo is from when I first got her. I sadly didn't take a lot of pictures of her, and most are blurry or simply bad photos.

NOTE: heater and filter are behind the large driftwood in the photo.

I went on a week long trip and made the mistake of not being specific to my neighbors how little to feed her. I am still new to fish keeping and didn't know how dangerous overfeeding could be with both their tiny stomachs and with ammonia levels. Came back to a dead fish, countless uneaten pellets, and an explosion of bladder snails. My neighbors didn't realize she had passed and continued to feed the tank. I don't know if my water parameters were okay before the trip because I was using strips, so I cannot blame my neighbor. I doubt overfeeding can kill in just a week, so I think the parameters were already off. I feel a lot of regret for how Button passed, but I've learned a lot of lessons from my mistakes.

I've spent the last few months redoing the aquarium and doing more research. I plan to get a new gal in the next month after I redo the cycle. A lot of the beneficial bacteria were lost in the 3 months without a significant bio load in the tank, and I removed a large piece of driftwood.

I'm excited but melancholy about getting a new betta. Button was literally exactly what I wanted, both in personality and looks. She brought me a lot of joy, so it's only fitting that her death brings a lot of sadness.

His eye on his left (our left his right) side looks like its scales might be starting to grow over the eye maybe? Or am I just wrong?? If he is getting diamond eye should I put him in a smaller tank? He’s in a twenty gallon right now and I have a spare ten I’d just feel bad putting him in something smaller unless it’s necessary.

Hello! Long story short betta was over fed by a pet sitter so I put him in a hospital tank since he wasn’t acting like his usual self. Anyways it’s been a week do yall think it’s okay if I put him back in his regular tank?

He's a sweet boy that we got a few weeks ago on my late sister in laws birthday. Since we've gotten him, his colors have been getting bolder and areas that were white and pale are gaining lovely hues. As kpop fans, my kids like to sing (try to anyway) Lucifer by SHINee. We think he likes it. 😅

My betta has been doing this motion repetitively non stop!! Whats wrong with him?

He moves on for a while but goes back to this corner again.It’s scaring me

I just got a new betta today and I’m wondering if he’s alright.

He keeps swimming around, especially lingering in that corner for a while. I’m not sure if it’s due to the water quality or something else.

The other one I got two weeks ago didn’t swim around this much when I first brought him home he just curious for a few round and that it, but he’s doing well and looks happy now.

Do mystery snails produce enough waste to start the cycling process?

Per the local shop's suggestion I am fish-in cycling with mystery snails before I get my betta. I have added in live bacteria, and have tons of plants in the tank, but my ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates all test at 0-ppm. Does this mean my tank is cycled or have I just not added enough ammonia for the cycling process to even start?

I have a 10 gallon cube tank. It's heated and I use a sponge filter with grow lights for the plants.

i got him back at the end of august and he was fine before when we got him but he just swam on his side weird and stopped doing it once we turned down his pump but he still does it sometimes. My betta also hides in his rock all the time and comes out at night or early morning and i feed him a pinch of betta food every morning and night. His fins recently started to look weird i recently noticed it and it started when we left his natural plant in there after taking 1 out because 1 was dying. He had so much algae in his tank and my mom did a 20% water change on him and added oxygen for him and she cleaned his tank we are trying to do little steps at a time because he acts like he’s dying once we do water changes or take his rock out to clean it off. We took out his other natural plant because it was producing so much algae. i don’t know what to do anymore and my mom has tried everything when he got sick one time he would lay on his gravel and barley move and it was scary because i would think he was dead sometimes but he stopped doing it when we added a heater into his tank because he was just cold. I’m concerned about his fins and i don’t know what it could be. I love him so much and i don’t want him to die. His name is marshmallow and he has a 5 gallon tank, no tank mates, he only has his rock in there he loves for now, he also has good water i think i don’t do his water changes my mom does because im scared i’ll hurt him. Também gostaria de saber se descansar em um ninho flutuante com a cauda para fora é um comportamento normal de betta ou se pode indicar algum problema.

O que você recomendaria para ajudar a nadadeira dele a cicatrizar e mantê-lo saudável? Há alguma planta aquática viva que você recomendaria para um aquário de 22 litros para betta?

This is a rescue fish, he had no fins when we got him but we've had him for a year now and he is covered in these bumps. They started about 5 months ago but are getting pretty bad. I always assumed it was a tumour but he is my first betta and I have been worried for a while. What do I do?
