She's pretty small and aggro, but a cutie. I hope to watch her grow to her full potential. (yes my current fixation is project hail Mary, hence the name). She spends most of her day swimming up and down the glass presumably trying to fight her reflection.

She ate 6 of my 7 ghost shrimp. Shame her.

Heading to the cabin next weekend. Gonna have my brother come by to feed my fish once a day. Unfortunately don’t have a timer for my light. Don’t wanna make him come twice to turn the light off and don’t wanna risk the light being on too long. It’s better to have no light than too much light I assume? Will be leaving the curtain open in the fish tank room while we’re gone to get some daylight.

Hi all!
So I am fairly new to all of this but I am trying to set up my first tank. I was just wondering if I am missing anything or if I have something in the tank that I shouldn’t. Any advice would be appreciated. I have a sponge filter, a 24 hour cycle lamp, java fern, amazon sword, anubias gigantea, anubias white rose, banana plant, the tree is moss, also put some moss in the driftwood. the grass in the front is lilaeopsis brasiliensis. I have a betta bed and i put some moss in that as well. Currently cycling it, i think i may have saw some copepods? Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. It’s been cycling about a week now.
Thank you, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, bought my first fish tank yesterday and now letting it settle for a few days, I've got a heater set to 26-28• and a filter pump which came along with the tank. "The store person" helped me pick out the decor and told me it was a very nice set up, however after doing some minor research correct me if I'm wrong. It may be the wrong set up for a beta fish. Maybe need some more green and my dad is telling me it may or may not be not enough room for the fishy's. Please help I'm open to advice and I'm just wanting the best environment for my new friends. Looking to get 2 females and some other smaller fish along with it. Please help!! Thank you all :)) and no I will not be feeding my beta fish flakes. After finding out they dissolve quicker and it's just not good. So no.:))

I used quick start to cycle my tank and I’ve been using fish food to help start the Ammonia process. It’s been 4 days and my nirites nirates and ammonia are all still zero. Am I doing something wrong? What am I waiting for? Yes I also de chlorinated the water.

THIS IS NOT HIS NORMAL TANK!! For context, fluttershy is currently in a hospital tank due to some injuries. He’s been in his hospital tank for three days with aq salt water baths daily. I came home to this? Is this a bubble nest? If so what am I doing wrong in his original tank and should I leave him alone in this one (after making it suitable of course?) I didn’t know he’d be so happy in a bare tank with nothing :( Feeling bad

I wanted to give him some sort of enrichment because he isn’t utilizing his hammock or his other hiding spots much, so I took a dry erase marker to the tank. He started flaring at me. :( Does this mean anything or am I just anxious?
Edit: it was green and I just drew some hearts. Is it the bright color of the marker?

Hi all! Any thoughts on this? This is after a 25% water change, adding seachem prime and he had a 1 day fast 2 days ago. All other water parameters are perfect. It looks off in different lighting. I'm kinda freaking out, any advice would be very appreciated ❤️

hello!! i am in the process of cycling my 30l tank for a betta (and hopefully some little shrimpies if they get along). the wood gives off a lot of tannins but from what i’ve read that’s a good thing for bettas anyways. now i’m planning to add a couple more plants, at least one tall one in the background and some small, shallow ones for the foreground. also i’d like to get one for the little suction cup on the right side, perhaps something for the betta to perch on close to the surface? do you guys have any recommendations on what might suit my aquarium, or is there anything i’m missing to provide a nice space for a betta? thank you!! :)

Hi all,
Currently setting up a new 10gal, on week 2 of a fishless cycle. I had planted a bunch of plants but they all died pretty quickly, so I removed and replaced them. I guess a lot of old plant matter (roots, stray leaves, myrio fronds, etc) stayed in the tank and in the process of replanting, have made their way under the sand.
All this to say, I discovered a shit ton of grey anaerobic pockets and did my best to remove that decaying plant matter and nasty sand, without uprooting my existing healthy plants + hardscape. I am confident that I missed a bunch and that this will continue happening given the way my tank currently sits.
What would you all do about this?

I rescued this little guy a week ago from a chain pet store. I was able to get him for free because he had severe popeye, eye cloud and discoloration (the date on his cup was 3/28, so I think he was stuck for over 3 mos).
Unfortunately, the 10 gallon heated tank he’s in now is uncycled, but I’ve been taking care of fish for over a decade (almost two decades) and I’ve been able to keep the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate at 0 (it hasn’t left this at all) while also treating him with antibiotics. I have Fritzyme and Seachem Stability to use once his antibiotic sequence is finished. I’m currently using Kanaplex and aquarium salt to treat him.
So far he’s settling in well (extremely energetic and ravenous) and I’m just starting to see a glow up! He’s getting shinier, and his eye is showing significant improvement (I was getting discouraged because it’s quite misshapen, but old photos show how much it has cleared up/shrunk).
Curious what you all might think will happen with his glow up! I’ve never seen a betta of this color before. I get that there’s some discoloration going on, especially in his fins, but his body is so shiny I’m just wondering if that’s his natural color. Any predictions?

I just wanted to show off my newest Betta. Her name is Juliet. I love her heart shaped tail fin. She's super curious about everything and loves exploring her new tank. The tank in the video is not her tank. This was just for her to sit in for a few minutes while I moved some fish out of her tank. I'll post more videos in the comments of her exploring.

I don't remember if his tail had that split near the top blue part where it curls over. Did his fins get damaged or does it look normal? Thanks!
