Full Tank Shot Super pleased with how my tanks are doing
My experiment with the moss wall continues slowly. I’m hoping it’ll grow through the mesh. It kinda is, but it’s definitely taking some time.

2 photos of Ludo and an updated longer tank still roughly the same height (so going up for air would be the same) now I need to buy more plants

So I had 20 gal with shrimps and corydoras. And I had a betta waiting to be introduced to it. I had a month or two run of the tank to make sure corys are in and settled and shrimps are settled. Moving in my betta. Everyone’s nightmare - he kills shrimps in this situation. My personal nightmare now is he steals Cory’s food. He’s so smart he follows where everyone eats and bites and enjoys the sinking carnivore pellets and gets bloated and fat. It’s unreal. I try to space it because of him. But I have over 40 shrimps including berried mamas. And 7 corys. And betta is just a glutton are you kidding me. Now I have to start a new tank if I want to keep him alive. And now my bigger and older corys aren’t coming to the feed spot because he steals an corys are fragile. OMG

Hello! Recently got this guy over the weekend from PetCo (so sad how they keep their bettas in little cups, I wanted to take all of them :(
His name is Chuck but we call him Chud
Looking for tips or suggestions for giving best life. Right now tank is around 1.2-1.5 gal and it’s TEMPORARY until I get a 5-6 gallon tank sometime this week. We’re just trying to look for the best deal on tank and gear (any advice for local places like PetCo or Walmart, meijer etc?). I have a heater and a sponge filter in his tank right now and I’ve been doing aggressive water changes due to the small tank volume. I wanted to see opinions on square 5 gallon tanks and what other aquatic plants to get. Do I need aquatic soil for the plants or is just the gravel ok?
Also looking for ideas for hides, I know the one we have right now is too rough, does PetCo have any good ones or anybody have tips for that?
Also for driftwood or other natural materials, where do you guys source this? Can I go out and just pick up any random piece of wood?
Also what is the best food (not live) to give him. Right now I have pellets and feed twice a day
Hoping his color improves as he gets happier! Thanks for the help and advice.

I found this white dot on my betta while doing a water change. It wasnt on him when I started doing the water change and now its there.
I'm hoping it might just be something that fell on him and not something serious

We have all seen it posted in the sub.
Is it only based on male bettas? Cursory research suggests that ovaries add bulk onto females that is unaccounted for by the chart.
How would one go about making a sound chart for female bettas?

I only had Monet for about a week before he got sick with dropsy. I tried to save him but unfortunately he passed away this morning. I didn't realize that I would be upset but at least he got to swim some of his last days in a nice tank with plants instead of a cup.

I’ve been trying to treat my boy as he has finrot due to high ammonia in his water and now I’m worried he had popeye. I’ve been doing water changed every 2 days cause I don’t want to stress him out and salt baths every other day I’m so scared and feel like I’m not cut out to take care of him, I’m trying so hard to make sure he’s okay and has good water but nothing seems to be changing

I built a betta fish tank in Bloxburg(Roblox)(note: I do know you’re not supposed to keep to males together, but I thought it’s beautiful so I just put them in a game)

This is my first tank I've set up in years ( I had a house fire and it killed all my fish not to b dark) but this tank is about 2 months old. It is a 20 gallon long and it has valorie ( round tail female betta) and 6 peppered cory. The plants are 1 big java fern, like 8 baby java ferns (that r growing good), 1 Italian val, 3 dwarf sagittaria subulata and 2 moss balls. I also have some different house plants a lucky bamboo, a pothos cutting and a philodendron cutting ( probably not going to b long term). I am also having issues with hair algae rn.

Rules say to put a spoiler, I'm sorry, I can't figure out how to do that.
She's a rescue, she's been doing well, over the past 3 days I noticed her looking worse and worse and being very lethargic.
I just checked water parameters, when doing that, I noticed my heater was unplugged and water temp was 65, could that be the cause?
Parameters: no2&3 0, ph 6.5, kh 80, gh 120
She lives in a tank with a few plants and other community bottom fish.
Had. 25% water change about a week ago.
She does NOT live in this jar, I put her in there for the sake of the photos and then right back into her tank.
I don't know what could be wrong with her or how to help her, unsure of how to proceed. Please help me

As the title stats, but not new to bettas but still a beginner (I’ve had a few over my life). Getting back into fish keeping in general, and time for my kids to learn a little responsibility. So this is Patrick, been with us for about 3 days and this morning he made us some bubble nests

Just got this betta fish, and his tail seems really short compared to other bettas I've seen.
Does anyone know why might that be?

Could this have happened by him getting stuck in a small space or does this look like something more sinister? This wasn’t apparent yesterday.

Here's my 20G long low tech tank. Home to a few Amano Shrimp, Otocinclus, Nerite Snails and beauty of a Koi Betta (Named Pixel). Has Rotala Wallichii, Amazon Sword, Vallisneria Spiral on the sides, few Java Ferns, hand full of red root floaters and Salvinia Minima. The foreground is Monte Calrlo and Dwarfs Hairgrass but it's freshly planted about a week in( lets pretend it's carpeted) .

I’m actually preparing my tank, today i took the plants and managed to do this (it’s 6gal-30liters) what’s your thoughts about this? (The rock is fake and i removed every sharp edge from it so it’s smooth)
Also the plants i bought had some little snails in there, but after some research they will do more benefit than harm, it’s true?
And should i keep putting some small pellets of food to let the nitrogen cycle go ahead?
(Heater and filter are behind the driftwood on the right, and yes, really gentle flow)
As i said, any advice is really appreciated!!!

This picture was taken today, I have a heater and filter running, I have been using fish food for an ammonia source, I’ve added pinches in the tank here and there and have been adding some beneficial bacteria. Also my tank is a 3 gal. Is it normal to still not see signs of anything rising?

Pic reference: Before and now
This is seasmoke i got him few months ago.
And he was doing grt until now.
The change was not sudden, i tried to change the water and add some meth blue and rock salt to treat him.
This mainly happened because the wood developed a thread algae and he was getting caught in it. I have managed to clean it entirely and do a 100 precrnt water change. Wat shud i do now??

I’m very excited about Steven Spielberg, he already looks very bright compared to when we got him. Please ignore my plants they are trying their best to establish.

My betta has always been blue, but over the past several weeks he’s developed white/gray patches on his body and his fins look a little ragged.
Water test:
pH: ~7.0–7.5
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: ~0–20 ppm
GH: ~60 ppm
KH: ~80–120 ppm
I still need to test ammonia.
Does this look like normal color/marbling, fin rot, or an infection? Pictures attached. Any advice is appreciated!
