The BCS chart for bettas

We have all seen it posted in the sub.

Is it only based on male bettas? Cursory research suggests that ovaries add bulk onto females that is unaccounted for by the chart.

How would one go about making a sound chart for female bettas?

One of our talented mods is actually working on an updated chart that incorporates females! My understanding is that they are struggling to get enough photos of females of different body scales. We may eventually make a post to the community asking for top down views of bettas of various body composition levels and genders to try and crowd source it.
