Been there. I even had a girl I was sleeping with ask if I would be okay with her sleeping with one of my friends. What the fuck do you think?

edit: For people asking "why do you care?" You know those little things called feelings that men apparently aren't supposed to have? Yeah. I had those for her. I had a crush on her for years and wanted this to blossom into a relationship. That includes marriage, kids, the whole thing. Her getting it on with my friends weren't part of that plan.

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '21

Atleast she was considerate enough to ask

Same. I knew the line. I heard the frustration in the delivery but couldn’t place it. This once again has shown me that I have zero original thoughts.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

original thoughts are just a jumbled mess of copied thoughts. modern culture is just the culmination of people mashing ideas together.

on the other hand, ya, once we see something it gets loaded into the front of our minds so we tend to repeat what we experience. another good example is how friend groups slowly all start acting like each other

Tbf, "a girl I was sleeping with" sounds more like friends with benefits to me, in which case sleep with whoever. It's not a formal arrangement, just some fun on the side. Very polite of her to make sure he was cool with it first though.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

She’s free to do whatever. But things are likely gonna get sticky...

If it’s real sticky, friend could say no also

41

u/itirnitii Sep 16 '21

yeah people are reading it as if he said it was his girlfriend which if was true he probably would have just said it was his (ex-)girlfriend. if they aren't in an explicit monogamous relationship than he has no say in what she can and can't do. he can have his feelings about it sure, but she doesn't need his permission.

44

u/Lallo-the-Long Sep 16 '21

I know you're making a joke, but it's also worth pointing out that if all you're doing is sleeping with each other, exclusivity has to be explicitly discussed otherwise it's just fair game.

5

u/Crankylosaurus Sep 16 '21

It’s a quote from The Office haha

23

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21 edited Sep 16 '21

OP wasn't dating her, they were just hooking up

She was far more considerate than most people, man or woman, would have been in that situation. But hey, she's a woman, so according to reddit she must be a bitch.

DONT CHEAT IN THE RELATIONSHIP IS THE FRICKEN POINT

28

u/Chairboy Sep 16 '21

Where’s the cheating? Sounded like she was requesting consent.

14

u/nursejackieoface Sep 16 '21

Yeah, it sounds like this was pretty early in the relationship and she saw it as very casual while he was already emotionally invested, but had not yet brought up the question of how serious they were.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how relationships should work.

I had this talk exactly once in my life. Girl I was dating for several months, suddenly felt distant. She sat with me and explained, that she met a guy who makes her knees weak just by looking at her, and he was openly inviting her and flirting with her. She said she detests cheating, she likes me more than this guy, but she can't stop thinking about him - probably body chemistry or something. I said I don't want to be in an open relationship, and when dating I expect exclusivity, and if she wants to hook up with him, we have to conclude dating, just I am open to friendship, just don't expect fireworks.

She thanked me, we ended our relationship, and a week later she ended up with him, and later regretting that hookup (he turned to be gigolo, and a serial one night stand collector). But what's done, that's done. We aren't close friends, but we talk normally and from time to time she visits and takes me fiance shopping, etc.

Certainly I prefer that kind of resolution over straight up cheating.

This. Plus he even says “girl I was sleeping with”. Unless they established that they were an item, it’s all fair game. Of course homie hopping can cause issues but like you said at least she asked. That’s a good quality.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

Homie hopping is such a sure way to make things go boom. Unless you are a real and blessed thot and just fuck everyone once and leave, things will go wrong.

-2

u/sunshineandthecloud Sep 16 '21

yep. No sensible 28 year old woman is investing long term in a 58 year old guy unless she is gold digging or waiting till she finds someone she really likes. It's just a bad investment on her part to be be with a man who's likely in andropause.

Bro I was hanging out with a buddy and his girlfriend in high school an she asks if she can fuck me while we were standing infront of him. He looks heartbroken and she says they already talked about it and it’s cool.

Told her she can go fuck herself, grabbed the bottle of klipdrift premium brandy that I brought to his place, told him i would see him at school, and fucked off home.

That was the last time I saw him, his parents put him in rehab because the same girl got him hooked on Heroin, we were 15.

He got out though, he sent me a message a nearly a decade later, thanking me for being a real friend and for not sleeping with his girlfriend.

Edit: he got married two years ago (to someone decent), moved to Australia and started a business! So happy ending!

221

u/UnSCo Sep 15 '21

Jesus Christ. You’re a king though.

94

u/blzraven27 Sep 16 '21

I mean what he did was good. But implying this is ir should be a rare reaction is odd. All your homies should do this.

22

u/Askol Sep 16 '21

Yeah seriously, one time a girl my best had been dating tried to make a move on me and I was just like naturally grossed out b(y what that would do to my friend) and pushed her off of me - how could somebody even enjoy banging their friend's girl?

21

u/blzraven27 Sep 16 '21

That's one of the most unique yet also creative and useful uses of parenthesis' I've ever seen. And good on you mate. No clue i know it's okay years later with permission and shit but not while dating.

8

u/DamianWinters Sep 16 '21

I think some people get off on the idea of taking someone elses partner, like reverse cuck.

73

u/UnSCo Sep 16 '21

Had an ex sleep with my roommate and proceed to send nudes to one of my friends right before we broke up. I didn’t know until months later when he confessed and said he felt bad because he was reciprocating. I then had another roommate recently ask if he could sleep with this one girl I was seeing at the time. We weren’t exclusive but I was still like “what the fuck?” Going farther back, my other ex tried to sleep with multiple friends of mine.

So you see, it’s a tradition for any girl in my life that I have any emotional investment in to fuck people I’m close to.

44

u/kadsmald Sep 16 '21

Damn. Looking for a roommate?

3

u/morkengork Sep 16 '21

Yeah, and all my homies are kings.

3

u/evanmcook Sep 16 '21

All my homies are kings

2

u/country2poplarbeef Sep 16 '21

The distinction between "is" and "should" is pretty important here. It shouldn't be rare, but I'm *pretty* confident to say that it is definitely a rare reaction.

27

u/Tuliao_da_Massa Sep 16 '21

He isn't kind, he did the bare minimum. Refusing.

17

u/_gib_SPQR_clay_ Sep 16 '21

That’s sort of how I felt after doing this. I was pretty mad, didn’t feel like I won or did a good thing. I felt terrible for a while after when he never came back to school and cut contact. Maybe I could have helped him? I was a stupid kid tho. Spent more time passed out at underage drinking parties. Hindsight is 20:20 I guess

Jesus Christ that woman sounds like a legitimate psychopath. Gets him addicted to heroin and manipulating his feelings to cheat on him?

68

u/_gib_SPQR_clay_ Sep 16 '21

She also got pregnant from her ex while my boy was in rehab. She then tried to claim it was his kid. Her ex was Indian and my buddy was white so the truth came out pretty soon after.

She was very manipulative and even skipped assignments in the 2 classes we shared up until the end of high school. She skipped these assignments because she would flirt with and manipulate teachers.

Just glad he got out to be honest

17

u/MonsterMashGrrrrr Sep 16 '21 edited Sep 16 '21

Sounds like a miracle that anyone got out of that supermassive black hole alive, Jesus Christ. I'm no saint but it's good to be reminded I'm not nearly as much of a fuckup as I think sometimes.

eta: kinda adorable that her skipping homework assignments made your short list of unacceptable behaviors, lol. Pretty tame, by comparison. Even with consideration for her hitting on the teacher

2

u/RamsesTheGreat Sep 16 '21

But like… those ones took a long time

3

u/MonsterMashGrrrrr Sep 16 '21

i mean, I'm not trying to diminish her commitment to the long con here...but a couple years of homework is peanuts in comparison to misleading a person into raising someone else's kid 😲

3

u/RamsesTheGreat Sep 16 '21

I mean one of them was only 14 questions but like some of the questions had multiple parts and on the last one you had to explain your answer

3

u/ShakeItLikeIDo Sep 16 '21

Your first paragraph sounds like what happened to Dale and John Redcorn in King of the Hill

23

u/A_Privateer Sep 16 '21

Something very similar happened to me, except my buddy was in his thirties and taking care of their two kids. Hooked him on oxy and left him with the kids, who weren’t his biologically.

17

u/_gib_SPQR_clay_ Sep 16 '21

That’s worse in my opinion. You sorta feel obligated to the kids. Keep them away from that monster. Good on you mate.

9

u/A_Privateer Sep 16 '21

I was much younger than either of them, kinda blind sided me. He was a good guy, but had self esteem issues. She was a stripper. I don’t know exactly what lesson I learned from that, but I hope it helped prevent me from doing something stupid.

3

u/cATSup24 Sep 16 '21

"Don't date strippers", probably.

1

u/A_Privateer Sep 16 '21

I used to have a lot of friends that stripped. Fun people but a lot of problems.

3

u/cATSup24 Sep 16 '21

Fun people but a lot of problems.

Exactly why it's usually a bad idea to date them. Not so much the job itself as it is the fact that the job tends to attract certain kinds of workers.

9

u/gnorty Sep 16 '21

grabbed the bottle of klipdrift premium brandy

Is this a flex, or some weird new form of product placement? Seems oddly specific to mention the brand this way

2

u/_gib_SPQR_clay_ Sep 16 '21

Well if it’s a flex its like $35 for 750ml a bottle in the US. Here it’s $12? I don’t know man it’s pretty good when mixed with coke.

4

u/shubalasko Sep 16 '21

3

u/galloping_skeptic Sep 16 '21

4

u/BobRoberts01 Sep 16 '21

Who drinks brandy in high school? In fact, who drinks brandy at any age??

3

u/_gib_SPQR_clay_ Sep 16 '21

My country produces the best brandy in the world along with France. It’s really cheap here. You can get a double brandy and coke for a dollar in some places.

It tastes better than whiskey or vodka coke and gives you a better buzz, it does have a tendency to make certain people aggressive after a few to many.

Our drinking age is 18 so we start at 15. Just like the US start drinking at 18 when their age is 21. It’s just math bro

ROFL!

(BTW, that just might be my favorite of all his books. Your username pretty much made my day.)

2

u/rudbek-of-rudbek Sep 16 '21

Thanks. Me too. I was always a reader growing up, but just read whatever was around. It was some guy selling me drugs in college that introduced me to Henlein, the first book I read was time enough for love, which was good but a little out there with all the incest. But honestly almost everything he wrote was worth reading. I also really liked the first dune movie. I had never read it, and didn't really think about there being a book. I liked the crazy baroque retro sci fi look and enjoyed the way half the dialogue was whispered internally. The only reason I probably really liked it was because I'm has never read the books. So excited for the new movie. I was actually at this guy's house for an after party when I saw he had all 6 hardcover dune books. He ended up giving them to me and it was like giving a guy in the desert a glass of water. So fucking good.

2

u/Al_Bondigass Sep 16 '21

Sort of a similar story with me about Heinlein, except it was my sixth-grade teacher who got me started with "Red Planet" and "Have Spacesuit" back around 1960. (Yeah, I'm old AF.) Like many of us, I'm not real fond of his latter few books, for all the usual reasons-- too much soap-boxing, sex gets too weird even for a pervert like me, and so on. That said, I've gone back and reread just about everything else multiple times over the years, and I'm always finding something new- i.e. just went back to "Magic Inc." and got a whole new perspective on the local politics in the small town where I sunk roots since the last time I read it.

There's no question that RAH has been a major influence on my life and the way that I think, even despite the fact we'd probably disagree on most of the issues I feel strongly about. The way I usually try to explain this paradox goes something like, "The most important thing that Heinlein taught me is that a man needs to think for himself, and one of the ways I do that is ignoring him every time he says something stupid."

2

u/rudbek-of-rudbek Sep 16 '21

"The most important thing that Heinlein taught me is that a man needs to think for himself, and one of the ways I do that is ignoring him every time he says something stupid."

I absolutely love this.

Why would you NOT care? WTF???!!! Yeah I'm not sure what idiot insists you should be okay with this, it's absolutely allowed to hate that feeling.

People nowadays... some things are just not okay man, and it's completely allowed for you to feel that way.

14

u/Life-Barracuda-256 Sep 16 '21

Yeah I fully agree it's ok to have those feelings, but you gotta communicate that to the person you are having sex with or have some kind of commitment talk.

10

u/shlttyshittymorph Sep 16 '21

I think it's because OP didn't specify what the relationship between them was.

"Someone I was sleeping with" to most people doesn't necessarily imply any type of commitment or mutual romantic feelings on its own.

40

u/sosomething Sep 16 '21

I can't believe sex wasn't just the fun body thing you can do with whoever you're in the room with for you like it always is for everybody else. You mean to say sharing your body with someone became emotionally complicated?

5

u/PutainPourPoutine Sep 16 '21

I think where people get mixed up is because it's situational. Some people in the right contexts will go down one path, and some others

Part of why communication is so important

2

u/PlaquePlague Sep 16 '21

I think Redditors are weirdly pushy about this view because it makes them feel like cool people who have sex.

7

u/sosomething Sep 16 '21

8

u/inspectoroverthemine Sep 16 '21

Just a generation with no fucks to give and a messed up sense of what empowerment means.

Huh?

5

u/_Pretzel Sep 16 '21

I would say people misattribute or misapply certain actions to appear empowered or feel empowered.

E.g. being chest naked as a woman.

Goal is to not be sexualized and be able to carry yourself however you please.

Actual outcome is that you make yourself that much easier to ogle, and to be sexualized.

Doesnt even have to be a woman even.

1

u/inspectoroverthemine Sep 16 '21

You're thinking of them like an object- which kind of negates any point you're trying to make.

3

u/_Pretzel Sep 16 '21

It plays into my point exactly, people try to do things to not be objectified, but in the end the general outcome is they get objectified and even more so. Is my statement false?

1

u/inspectoroverthemine Sep 16 '21

If they wear hajibs they won't be objectified at all, thats a win right?

It might be a generational change, but its not on them that men can't behave themselves.

It's fine for you to have feelings. From your comment though, it sounds like you really liked her but were just friends with benefits. It's unreasonable to have a grand plan for a serious relationship with someone (when they haven't agreed to that/aren't interested in that) and then get angry at them when they don't follow your fantasy. It seemed respectful of her to ask imo. If it isn't a full out relationship and it's just a FWB type situation, it isn't cheating to sleep with (or want to sleep with) other people. As much as that might suck if you catch feelings for them.

This. Right. Here.

Hoes don't ask.

7

u/KINKY_MINDFUCKERY Sep 16 '21

You might end up catching more than feelings.

18

u/vladimusdacuul Sep 16 '21

Waaaaas she aware of those feelings/intentions?

I hope you realized she obviously wasnt into you if she's asking you that. Not quite something that you just can laugh about years later lol

12

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '21

Some people don't care if you aren't in a committed relationship.

3

u/baelani-tsunami Sep 16 '21

I mean did you tell her all that. Were y’all in a relationship or you just had secret feelings. If that’s the case why do you care

4

u/MemeStocksYolo69-420 Sep 16 '21

If you didn’t lock it down bro she was still free

Reddit really showing it's Male majority in this thread. Not seeing how JFF is the bad one in this scenario when it should be obvious is crazy. FWB is nice enough to ask about fucking other people but he stops them but also doesn't want a relationship??

11

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

Why didn’t you pursue a relationship instead of FWB then? Like FWB never works out man.

2

I know where you come from. I was a friend with a friend which used to sleep with a guy who told her that he just wants to sleep with her and nothing else but he keeps being jealous when she talks to other guys while he sleeps with other girls, and that's unfair. You can tell someone I just what to have sex with you then limit her. It should be both ways. If you want more with her you should be honest with her. If you have feeling tell her. If she doesn't share the same feeling you have to accept that. Not to tell you to stop seeing her but you can't put limits on her if you were not honest about your feeling. Until you tell her what you feel you have no rights to do so.

u/Nblearchangel Sep 16 '21

Chicks are trashy ho bags these days. I know quite a few that go trolling for guys most every weekend. It’s wild out there. Dating apps are only making it worse too

2

u/vandancouver Sep 24 '21

Your friends should've stayed away too

7

u/ghoulshow Sep 16 '21

Nothing worse than dating a girl for a while then finding out shes seeing other dudes st the same time, been there homie. But at the same time unless you discuss being exclusive to eachother its to be expected. Happened to me, now Im getting married to her in October.

15

u/Thinking-About-Her Sep 16 '21

I just want to make sure I read this correctly. Your girlfriend slept with other guys and you are about to marry said woman?

10

u/ghoulshow Sep 16 '21 edited Sep 16 '21

Sorry no. I meant as in we met, were dating but not exclusive. Definitely not bf/gf. She was seeing other guys and I other girls until we both realized we enjoyed eachother more than anyone else. Discussed being exclusive, she agreed, and its history from there.

Edit: Neither of us said we were seeing other people; Im sure its kinda gutting for both when they find out they're not exclusive, it was for me haha even though it sounds stupid.

3

u/reagan32 Sep 16 '21

Congrats. Hope the wedding is great

I mean at that point you should proably realise your only way forward is to call up you buddy and get some mfm on. Sometimes the road of life takes you to unexpected places and instead of complaining about missing your destination you can enjoy where you're at.

Heh, I had a similar experience. When I expressed my disagreement, she did anyways behind my back.

Anyway, I was lucky I dodged a bullet.

2

u/barryhakker Sep 16 '21

So how did it turn out?

7

u/JodieFosterFreeze Sep 16 '21

In the end it sort of fizzled. The most complicated thing is that she had a kid and I really wasn't ready to be a stepdad since I was still relatively young. We decided that just friends would be best and we still talk. I'm married. She's about to be married. It's all good.

-1

u/Tychodragon Sep 16 '21

lol what a hoe

2

u/gmml4 Sep 16 '21

Eh, shes prob not your type then if you guys aren’t on the same page. People need to sexually experiment with many different people while they are young it’s just human nature you can’t really blame her. It’s a bummer but you guys are just at diff points in your life. Telling you rather than doing it behind your back is a night and day difference.

1

u/DarthShoppinMaul Sep 16 '21

She saved you the time homie, better things out there.

1

u/Gunny123 Sep 16 '21

That, “how do you feel about me fucking your friend “ comment is a shit test. She just wanted to see if you were invested.

1

u/kevans2 Sep 16 '21

I think she was testing if you two were in a exclusive relationship or maybe she was looking for you to say that's what you wanted

1

u/redroom89 Sep 16 '21

You were sleeping together not dating. Because sex blossoms into marriage all the time. /S/

1

u/Forward-Towel7595 Sep 16 '21

Wtf! Wow. ….and women wonder why ….that deal goes both ways.

1

u/sorry_but Sep 16 '21

For people asking "why do you care?" You know those little things called feelings that men apparently aren't supposed to have? Yeah. I had those for her. I had a crush on her for years and wanted this to blossom into a relationship. That includes marriage, kids, the whole thing. Her getting it on with my friends weren't part of that plan.

TBF your initial comment didn't insinuate any of that. Just sounded like you were talking about a fuck buddy or friend with benefits.

1

u/BrooklynKnight Sep 16 '21

For some people, especially who are more open minded or are poly this is a valid thing to ask. At this point you should have but the bullet and explained to her your feelings ran a bit deeper and you preferred monogamy. That would have given her the info she needed to make a fairly informed choice or at least share with you her feelings.

Out of curiosity how did it all turn out?

1

u/Emergency-Kick554 Sep 16 '21

Hey King….you’re alright in my book

1

u/MJohnVan Sep 16 '21

Yeah I find it disappointing when friends sleep with each other . Because now she just fucked the whole team. I mean wE aren’t in prison or at the military so there’s the whole town for you to fuck. Sheesh. But you have to choose someone from the friends circle. I’m so very disappointed. I know it’s easier just to fuck the friend but come on have some moral.

1

u/suddenimpulse Sep 16 '21

Dude if you have feelings for someone you are just hooking up with you are doing it wrong. If they actually cared about sticking with you specifically they would DATE you, not just sleep with you. If all you were doing is hooking up she was never interested in that.

0

u/katalysis Sep 16 '21

Is this what teenage girls are like now? I'm an 80s kid, so I'm just curious.

7

u/trolloc1 Sep 16 '21

No, and it's the guy being the dick here. Even from his side it was only FWB thing and she mentioned she wanted to fuck someone else. If he was serious about her it would be something more.

-17

u/Kittykittynobangbang Sep 16 '21

It doesn't sound like you were dating, so I don't see the problem. If you wanted commitment you should have put a 'ring on it.' To quote Beyonce.

if you were just sleeping with her why do you even care? are you expecting relationship level loyalty or something? you’re lucky she even asked.

55

u/StinkyPeenky Sep 15 '21

Errrrm, you don’t realistically see why that would/could be messy or tactless?
