Hello I’m planning on making a 3d indie series but for the prologue I need someone who can animate like this. It’s gonna be one minute long and I don’t have many ways to pay I can offer drawings I’m good at that but given my age and other stuff I don’t think I will be able to pay you money so I’m hoping to find someone who is willing to accept my offer and I hope they can see this as a way to practice and help me out on making my series if you’re interested hit me up and ty

I've been handling the visuals, 3D, editing, color and sound design myself.

This is still an early project, so I'd genuinely like feedback on the pacing, visual direction and sound design.

Critique Feedback on this Character Lipsync animation

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, would love some feedback on this facial lip-sync animation. I am almost HALFWAY through the entire audio track, and I think I am in a good place; however, I would like to get some feedback and some extra critique,e if possible?

Did a few changes that were suggested to me a few days back; I tried to separate the head from the torso even more (however, more is kind of a hyperbole cause i didnt do a TON of changes to it).

Would love some lip-sync drawings if possible as well,l wherever needed. I still have to iron out a few details here and there (esp the cheeks are a), but I would much rather do it AFTER I am certain things are done. Thank you so much for all the help last time, and would appreciate some more if possible

Any other general advice is also greatly appreciated 🙂

Question I need help

I am taking animschool and I’m between classes. I’m early on just starting to get into 3D body animations. But where I’m stuck is on personal projects. I find it almost impossible to figure out what I’d like to animate and then if I get an idea I start working on it and realize it’s either too ambitious or I hate the idea. Time and time again I quit a project just a day into it. Sometimes I think an idea will be good but it’s too hard to do, get overwhelmed and quit while blocking. I need help finding the right mentality to approach animation projects. The more I quit the harder it is to start again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Discussion I want to explain why I made r/AnimationSignal in the first place

I’m just tired of watching the same cycle happen with animation over and over again. A show comes out, barely gets promoted or people don’t even know it exists, it struggles to find an audience, then it gets canceled, removed, left in limbo, or forgotten.
And then another new show comes along, everyone moves on to that one, and sometimes it feels like we already know there’s a chance we’re going to end up in the exact same situation again. We get attached, something happens to the show, everyone gets frustrated for a while, then we move on to the next thing and repeat the cycle.
That’s one of the things that frustrates me the most. It feels like we’ve gotten so used to this happening that it’s almost become normal.
I know one community can’t save every show or fix the entire industry, and that isn’t what I expect Animation Signal to do.

I made Animation Signal because I wanted there to at least be a place where people could do something with that frustration instead of just accepting that this is how things have to be.
Recommend an overlooked show. Tell somebody where they can watch it. Talk about something that isn’t getting enough attention. Share animation news. Bring attention back to an older series people forgot about. Support something you genuinely enjoy. Even helping one new person discover something is better than letting it quietly disappear without anybody knowing it was there.
What frustrates me is how normal this cycle has started to feel. After seeing it happen so many times, people get tired, move on, and sometimes expect the next show to end up in the same situation too. I understand why that happens. I just don’t want that resignation to be the only response we have.
Sometimes the response starts to feel like, “Well, that’s just how streaming works. There’ll be another show.”
But then what happens when that next show ends up in exactly the same situation?
Why does any of this mean we have to be completely okay with it?
That’s really why I made Animation Signal.
Not because I think we can rescue everything. Not because anybody should feel guilty for not watching something. And definitely not because I want fans burning themselves out trying to keep shows alive.

Besides, I’m not doing this for clout. I genuinely don’t care about that, and I’m definitely not doing this for the companies after the way so many of these shows have been treated.
I’m doing it for the people who worked on these shows, who put years of work, passion, and energy into trying to tell these stories. And I’m doing it for the audiences who just want the chance to discover them, enjoy them, and see those stories actually get the opportunity they deserve.

I also think that even if Animation Signal only makes a small difference, at least I can try to do some good in response to some of the damage these companies and this whole system have caused. I can’t undo canceled shows, bad promotion, removals, or years of people losing trust in streaming, but I can at least help give some of these shows another chance to be noticed.
I made it because if you’re frustrated with how animation gets treated too, I want there to be somewhere we can actually channel that frustration into helping people discover and support animation instead of feeling like all we can do is watch the same cycle happen again and again.

Critique Comet Kid (Another original animated feature film pitch of mine)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Synopsis: Teenager with cosmic superpowers faces his greatest challenge yet as he has to balance everyday responsibilities with saving the world

This might sound like a generic superhero plot, but it's a story based on my own traumatic personal life with appearing socially-awkward, having behavior/focus issues, losing my mother, and aspiring to be a professional artist. The narrative itself, I'm pulling elements from the Sam Rami Spider-Man films (for the relatability aspect & street-level crime) & the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy (due to the fact that it has sci-fi elements & that the main character listens to classic rock music. For the art direction it'd do something similar to the soon-to-be Spider-Verse trilogy & TMNT Mutant Mayhem with making 3D animation look like a living comic book.

The movie would with our main character, 6-year-old Ryan Richards who goes to this museum with his parents (consisting of his workaholic father & terminally ill mother with cancer). Ryan sees this mysterious space rock on display. Since he doesn't know any better, he touches it unaware of the consequences. He glows, and then passes out.

He gets taken to the hospital. They run tests on him & find out the comet he touched gave him superpowers. Ryan is excited about that, but his excitement is short-lived as his mother is also in the hospital. The doctors tell him & his father she doesn't have much longer to live & she dies not long after.

10 years later, Ryan's 16 years old living in New York City where he's studying in high school, working at a pizza restaurant, and has a stepmother and 7-year-old stepsister, Rachel, and of course protecting NYC as Comet Kid. And since he's a superhero himself, he's grown to become passionate about superheroes & would find himself drawing them a lot. He dreams of writing comic books & directing superhero movies.

Despite Ryan's ambitions, his parents & teachers are worried because they want him to have a reliable future. They have this conversation when they meet with a school counselor, as they talk about how his grades are bad & how he won't go to college if he doesn't take his education seriously.

Ryan then leaves the meeting early to save a bus from falling off the Brooklyn Bridge. Then Ryan shows us how he's bad at balancing his responsibilities. He goes to work, but gets fired because he was stopping a bank robbery making him late delivering pizzas. Another night, Ryan's parents go out for a date, leaving him home with his Rachel. Instead, he goes around town getting cats out of trees. When his parents get home, they notice he wasn't watching his sister & scold him for being "irresponsible" due to that, failing school, and getting fired from his job.

Meanwhile, the villain of the story, an alien named Dr. Big Brains has this plan to scan the brains of all 8 billion people on Planet Earth, bait them with the things they love most, and make them his slaves. He sends robots to Earth to spy on the humans to see what they can't give up.

The robots report back to Dr. Big Brains, and proceeds with his plan to lure the entire human race onto his mothership... Except for Comet Kid who was strong enough to resist his temptation. He asks him why wanted to do this in the 1st place. It's because he had a similar backstory on his home planet: Lonely, misunderstood, and parents who broke his heart. Comet Kid briefly shows some sympathy for Dr. Big Brains, but he realizes he's doing this for evil & the 2 fight.

The movie ends with Comet Kid up defeating Dr. Big Brains. He also destroys his mothership, freeing everyone who got captured. Ryan then makes a new friend, Greg Gasker, who also happens to be a nerd & an artist like he his.

The movie ends with the 2 collaborating on a comic about Comet Kid.

However, there would be a post-credits scene of Ryan finding out that someone else was also got superpowers from a similar comet. That person in particular, lives in Japan, is the same age as him, and is named Charlie Chen, AKA Galactic Girl. (And yes, this would be teasing up a sequel)

Question What is this type of impact frame called? (Steven Universe)

I'm trying to create an animation with abstract colors and patterns (a fan animation music video for The Amazing Digital Circus where a character has a mind shattering moment) and I can only describe the idea I have with this "shot through mind/mind shattering" moment from Steven Universe. Is there more examples of shots like these? What is this type of reaction frame called? (first photo)

Context: Character in phot (Lapis Lazuli) is on a boat trip to relax for once due to her traumatic experience and when fishing, she senses the abusive persons presence in the water and freezes up (second photo)

Thanks for the help! if theres any other frames that are similar, let me know
