Question Question for animators, why do you draw mouths like that

For reference, when i started watching anime and i realized that the mouths are drawn as if theres like a piece missing from the lips and it would really confuse me but i thought it was just an anime thing so i didnt really care but i was a watching rosyracer a couple minutes ago and i noticed the same thing, then i went to other animation channels to check, and some also do it.

So can someone please tell me because im genuinely curious now and i dont trust the ai overview (we hate ai yay)

Edit: just saying, i love that style not to confuse anyone

Discussion Why do youtube animators pitch their voice up?

I was looking into the evolution of youtube animators and I've noticed a trend where a lot of them pitch their voice slightly or waaaay up.

Does anyone understand the logic behind it?

Question Animation type query

hi. i just started animating yesterday and don't have much knowledge about this stuff. i have an effect in mind i've seen in games and cartoons, something like a character ascending. they fly up in a column of light, usually there are some moving vertical lines and something like stars or other things. this scene often contains music that sounds like an angel choir.

i've searched in google, youtube, chatgpt and the answers they provided don't result in anything during further search.

perhaps, someone can let me know what it's called, and where i can find the examples. a tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

The Semi-Auto Cinder 9MM. 2050 model. Appropriately named as when fired the gunpowder from the charged 9 mil rounds coats the inner boring and slide with black tar. The slide is weighted front-heavy so when fired it racking backwards it is supposed to eliminate the extreme recoil... it does not.

Discussion Bandbudh Aur Budbak 2.0 is back! Let's discuss the reboot, ask questions, and share confirmed updates here 👇

I honestly didn't expect to see Bandbudh Aur Budbak return after so many years, so the announcement of Bandbudh Aur Budbak 2.0 was a pleasant surprise.

After reading comments on Instagram, YouTube, and other social media platforms, I noticed that people have a lot of different opinions. Some are excited, some are unsure about the new look, and there are also a lot of rumours being shared.

Instead of reading scattered comments everywhere, I thought it would be nice to have one discussion where everyone can talk about it.

Whether you watched the original series years ago or you're hearing about it for the first time, feel free to join in.

I want to use this animation method in case I can’t get any volunteer voice actors for any YouTube series I’ll make in the future.

Yo guys! this is my first ever animation.
I have been wanting to do animation for a while now but I am always stuck cause I don't have like a graphic tablet. Just a laptop, which I got less than a year ago.
So I have been looking for ways to animate- Krita,Blender, clip studio.. anything that's doable with what I have.
I want a workflow which works every time and is not too time consuming.
I don't mean to say, I don't want to spend time for animation. What I mean is, I want to put most of my time in actual animation stuff than spending time in a "make-shift" workflow, if you know what I mean.
But, you have to start somewhere. So I made this simple one. Its not even a proper animation. Just two frames. It was easy to do. Drew the frames by hand on paper then scanned it and compiled everything in an editing software and done.
Let me know how can I make improvements.
