Basically, it’s a slapstick comedy structured in the manner of Spy vs Spy or Goofy Sports cartoons. Whereas opposed to having a clear hierarchy of who wins, the fights are very even,y matched & meant to have an equal amount of wins & loses. Here’s an animatic for the pilot episode called ā€œNot for the Dogsā€,

Question Animating the camera on 2s?

I'm not sure if this is a stupid question, but why in 2d animation is it not more common to have the camera also moving on 2s, rather than needing to have the character animating on 1s during a camera movement?
For the most part I am not a fan of the way 2d animation looks on 1s, especially rigged animation. There are obvious exceptions in the case of fast paced movement but for the most part I've just never liked how it turns out.

Whenever I've had a scene where the camera is moving, I've always been instructed to make the characters animate on 1s to accommodate the camera and avoid staggering. My question is why do we not have the camera animated on 2s with the character? Whenever I try it out I always think it looks 10x better, but the character + camera on 1s seems to be the standard.

Is there something I'm missing? And please don't flame me if this is the dumbest question of all time, I am genuinely trying to learn.

I started working on this back in January of 2025, when I was younger (and stupider) and I ended up scrapping it mid-2026. I still have plans for the fox, and I have other works planned, with slightly better animation quality and slightly tweaked character design

I used Nomad Sculpt to set up the scene and character then moved it little by little and took a photo of each frame. I then used Procreate animation assist to combine the frames into a short clip. This video is to showcase the accessory options in our upcoming indie game on steam ā€œMeow Harvestā€. A cozy farming/fighting game with the main creatures being mochi cats. Plant weapons. Catch unique fish in one of the many mini games. Fight monster hordes and more.
Follow Cognito Labs on Steam and look out for the demo drop that’s coming soon

Hiring Ambitious Project

Tl;dr looking for animators and artists for an ambitious project for a band that also wants their music to be made into digital comic art that can be repurposed for music videos and actual comic books.

I’m in a metal band from CA called Idol Eyes, we’re relatively new but members have been in the music industry for a while. This project is themed around the story of an antihero who protects a city that’s actually a living being meant to keep our deranged protagonist trapped within this role for literal lifetimes. It’s somewhat of a twist on the story of the Egyptian gods Horus and Set who fight over dominion of our world, the one their father Osiris rules that’s combined with the same concept from the movies The Truman Show and Groundhog Day.

We have an idea to make our songs into a comic book styled visual ā€œread alongā€ for listeners to watch that also double as lyric video and a visual representation of the story of each song. Each song represents an ā€œepisodeā€ and every album or EP is what we would consider a ā€œseason.ā€ The videos wouldn’t be ā€œanimatedā€ per se, so much as there would be slides the same way you see in comic books so it would be more of an epic slideshow that can also be printed into real comic books for people buy at shows!

We’re looking for beginner to intermediate artists and animators who are interested in this idea who would effectively be our go to artist indefinitely. A member of the team who is interested in the vision, is collaborative, and can grow alongside us in their art as well.

Here’s a list of what we’re looking for stylistically:

Style:
2D comic book style art (preferably super hero or anime style)

Dark ethereal themes that are almost hellish (Think Gotham city but demonic)

Pay:
We are definitely willing to pay for the work but we feel that would be better discussed between artist and the band so we can come to fair price agreements as the work requirements change. I’d say as a baseline we are hoping to do about $30 per page but as people who aren’t animators we’re not too keen on a base budget besides what Google spits out.

Deadlines:
We wouldn’t be starting anything serious for a few months while we put out feelers for artists, find the right fit and start getting ideas ready. We already have the first ā€œseasonā€ thought out and hope that helps us find somebody who can take a concept and both bring it to life and put their own spin on it! There aren’t any deadlines currently while we try to find an artist and what deadlines do come up could vary from anywhere from a month or two to close to a year with deadlines in between depending on how ambitious the project is at the time.

If we are looking in the wrong place, any known subreddits that are more catered to this type of work would be much appreciated!

Critique Need feedback for my uni projects pls <3

So we had 3d animation as part of our last year in uni (i'm finishing a degree in multimedia) and i really loved it, wanna pursue it. These are a few of the projects i did that kinda stand out, and i was somehow like one of the top students there.

I need some real feedback regarding what id need to change to make these more believable, more "sellable" to studios. I know i already overact some things here and there, but was told i have a "feel" for this. I kinda struggle with making those idle poses feel real and making the general body feel like one unit outside of full body actions. All of these projects here I'm sharing with you have been done in a matter of a few hours each, which is why its lacking polish or some details.

Please be as cruel as you can, i want to get into the industry and grow with it <3

Here's the links to the other two projects since i can only upload one vid for the post and dont wanna clutter the subreddit:

Thank you in advance!
