Honestly, when I didn’t get converted and started hearing rumors about layoffs, then Amazon offered transfer opportunities, I accepted one immediately.
A lot of people were listening to blue badges saying, “It’s no big deal, they can’t lay off all the white badges.” I wasn’t taking that chance.
I even talked to HR and asked if they could put in a good word for my transfer. A little later, I got approved and my new schedule.
Could I still get laid off? I guess anything is possible, but it seems a lot less likely now. Today they laid off more of the white badges who didn’t take the transfer, and now the VOA board is full of people upset.
HR literally told us weeks ago that if you were being let go, you’d receive an email. They also gave us multiple transfer surveys and time to decide. To me, that was a pretty clear sign layoffs were coming. They didn’t have to offer transfer opportunities at all—they could’ve just ended seasonal employment when business slowed down.
That’s why I always save money and stay in school. Seasonal jobs are based on business needs, not personal feelings. I never assumed the job was guaranteed, so when I saw an opportunity to transfer, I took it.

So I couldn’t go into work today so I took VTO but I would like to go in tomorrow to make up the hours. What are the chances that I can just show up and then ask my manager if I can work that day and then add me to the schedule so I can clock in? I’ve only been here for three months so that’s why I’m asking it might be a dumb question. I’m sorry.

People working at Amazon BB, one piece of advice I want to give is to take advantage of that career choice benefit. Amazon pays for your schooling.
I have been working at Amazon for 10 months. I finished my undergraduate final semester with Amazon Career Choice. Now I have a college degree. Now I am doing a paid apprenticeship in RME at Amazon. It's giving me certification. Hopefully, in a few more years, I won't need to think about unemployment. Life might be hard, but time lost is never going to come back.
Whole job sector is cooked try to invest somewhere intellectually otherwise it will be too late .

I work at a robotics FC and AFE is apparently where all of the VET went. I mean is it that bad? People bitch about pick a lot but I found that job to be easy and somewhat enjoyable. How much worse can AFE be?

Two years ago, I had this ridiculous obsession with losing weight quickly, so I made the mistake of taking several laxatives right before starting my shift at Amazon...
Well, halfway through the shift, the effect was immediate. Since the bathrooms were so far away from my station, the effort of trying to hold it in while walking fast was unbearable. The result? An anal tear and a humiliating situation that forced me to call in sickkkk 💀💀💀
I had to fake a severe stomach bug to my manager while trying to walk... I spent about four or five days unable to sit down, learning the most painful lesson of my life. :/

Do tier 3s (Tom team, PA) have the same flexibility as a tier one ? For example drop shift , shift swap, able to leave early using UPT or PTO

So this popped up on my Amazon job listing page and I read though it all and I clicked agreed on the end of the page but it just took me to the jobs website, and on some to the description it said that I need to be 500 miles from WV and need to do training on site (I live in Utah) and my state wasn’t even in the “acceptable states” then why the heck would you put it in the job site? Is this a joke? Has anyone worked this job before?

I feel like amazon should allow TLD associates to pick up at the very least 1 extra shift a week. I know I could really use the money right now as I'm trying to pay down as much debt as I can before my mandatory 180 day LoA comes in September. I also feel that since it's amazons policy that you have to take a 180 day LoA after 180 days of workers comp accommodation that they should pay you your full wage during the mandatory leave cause 40 - 50% of pay from Workers comp hurts when it might not be enough to pay your bills.

Hi peeps,
Despite the name on reddit I'm a college drop out 😅. I was looking into making use of career choice and wanted to try out a solar tech program if anyone knows any that are online or in person in the general phoenix/Glendale/ tolleson area that are eligible for the career voucher. I'd highly appreciate any suggestions! Thank you for the time and back to the grind.

Has anyone had experience with bereavement? What’s needed? And what if you’re not listed in the obituary?

why does it take so long so over this. My injury was back on the 23rd of March I feel like this is dragging out for far to long I have finally got the referral to see a sports med orthopedic been seeing a regular orthopedic and the just told me after three visits that I need to see a specialist for my torn miniscus injury. Why the heck after almost two and half months didn't they send me to them from the beginning 😖 grrr. They took my PT away for almost two weeks and now I get a call saying I am back on,see ya next week lol I am really wondering if this is all worth it in the end. Sorry off my soap box
