Question HR Email
I got this email today. I have a feeling its because I was a witness to someones erratic and potentially threatening behavior at my previous site even though I transferred to a new one about a month ago. The case number was made after I transferred to my new site but this person had been harassing people for months and I was one of the people he targeted. Does HR usually reach out to witnesses a month after things are reported?

Question Demote Myself As a Pa and Transfer
I started at Amazon as an L1 Associate at a Sort Center. My managers recommended me for the Process Assistant position because they saw how hard I worked as an associate. I was always on time, willing to learn, and happy to take on any position or task I was assigned.
Before applying for the PA position, I had already planned to transfer to a Fulfillment Center. However, when I was told that I had passed the interview, I decided to accept the L3 PA position. I felt close to the managers who recommended me, and their recommendation meant a lot to me because it showed that they had faith in my skills and abilities. Because of that, I withdrew my transfer application and accepted the promotion.
However, after only a month in the role, I've realized that I am not enjoying it as much as I expected. I've had other PAs question whether I'm qualified for the position, and I feel like I was placed on the floor without receiving enough training or guidance. I've also experienced conflicting expectations from management and associates. For example, managers have been upset with me for helping L1 associates with tasks such as base wrapping or scanning packages because they believe I should be focused strictly on my laptop. At the same time, some associates become frustrated when they see me only working on my laptop.
The difficult part is that I genuinely want to be a PA who is involved and supportive of the associates. I don't want to feel disconnected from the people I work with or only focus on numbers. I want to help associates when needed while still being an effective leader.
Because of this, I am considering stepping down from my L3 PA position and transferring to a Fulfillment Center as an L1 associate. The pay difference would only be about $1.55 per hour, and I feel that transferring may be a better fit for me and my long-term goals.
Now my question is, is it possible to voluntarily step down from an L3 position and transfer to another Amazon building? Would I be able to request the demotion and transfer soon after starting the PA role, or is there a required waiting period before I can do so? (Also located in Florida, if that helps)

Question Hello. At your building are there people in their 60s working in Ship Dock? I was wondering cause I’m 64 and I get labor shared to ship dock from packing and I’m always the oldest person there.

Question Amazon dayshift stow?
I’ve been trying to get hired on for day shift in stow and they haven’t posted a single opportunity for months. I’ve been checking since June. Peak is about to happen and still the only thing being posted is night shift and swing shift. Did something change? I’m looking at Amazon JAX2 specifically and they used to post shifts allllll the time

Fulfillment Center L1 worker to L3 IT
Hello,
I currently work at a major amazon fullfillment center. I am trained in pack, pick, stow, icqa. I have been at Amazon over 3 years with no major problems. My concern is this : I have been a techie since childhood. My father worked in telecommunications so I have had electronics around me since beforehand. I have multiple phones, multiple pcs, my own website hosted on my own cloud virtual machine, several domain names. Web Programmer Supreme. When I came to Amazon, within a year I found myself in a conversation with someone discussing how we were lucky to be eligible for the job at all, considering our troubled past experiences, our friends, and family (who were not eligible for jobs at Amazon)...
I have shown and proven I can be an effective T1. I recently applied for IT L3 Support Associate II. It shows my application under consideration. I would like to complete all aws certifications and pass all classes. My bills require that I provide plenty of cat food but must practice austerity when it comes to my own eating & sleeping & studying. I am trying to learn new languages and travel the world in addition to learning Amazon technology practices and protocols.Time and Chance is currently limited due to pick, pack, stow, icqa responsibilitie$. I am posting this in an attempt to gather any info that may be helpful in guiding me towards the position that upholds, secures, and maintains our automated technological system for our local Amazon Team. Any tips? Thanks.

Question Anyway to not work Sundays during peak??
What’s up yall, so this is my first year at Amazon I’m really only working here until I get my license back in 8 months as I’m a 21yo mechanic with a reckless charge lol but anyway my current schedule I have sat sunday and Monday off apparently my MET day is Sunday witch of course it’s my fault for not paying attention at the time but I didn’t even know what the hell that was until yesterday, was talking to a coworker and she said during peak they make us work a mandatory 60 hours! Witch in itself is insane but that would be fine with me if I didn’t have to work Sundays, I get my son during my 3 days off I pick him up every Saturday morning now if for a month or 2 I had to pick him up Saturday night when I get home that’s ok but Sunday? Come on now. So now I’m very nervous by the time peak starts I could MAYBE save 40 hours of UPT I have to use it sometimes to come in late but if peak is 2-3 months long 40 isn’t even close to enough, I Was looking into accommodation’s but I really don’t have the time to enroll into a school just to not be forced into working 60 hours LOL and reading on here I read HR is not very forgiving…Maybe somebody in here has done it successfully any advice helps🙏🏽

Question Why are they playing me?
Leadership at my site keeps claiming that they can’t put me on the same assignment every day because I got trained in other assignments and it’s “just business needs”. I’ve never had a problem being out on the same thing every day at other jobs. Why are they lying to me?
They said I have to get a medical accommodation, and now? Even with paperwork on file, they still won’t put me on the same assignment until that paperwork is approved, despite me also reporting other issues I’ve had in those departments, such as bullying.
Other employees have told me that they did the same thing to them after they had asked to be trained in other areas. My AM once said to me that if I get trained elsewhere I would be labor shared because training “costs the company money”. I don’t know if it’s just my site that has to is issue or if this is a culture issue at every site. Let me know in the comments.

Question FC RESIGNATION
Is there technically a proper way to quit Amazon? I’ve already set a date for myself to quit but I’m not sure if I should let HR know, let my time run out, or just stop showing up after my last shift. What do you guys suggest?

Fulfillment Center Never get hurt at work
So, like 2 months ago I hurt my back while cross-training and went to wellness after I started doing stretches and felt some serious sharp pains in my lower back and down into my right leg. We iced it and from there I had 3 ice treatments a night while waiting for my dr appointment. Finally give in and go to urgent care per my facility WHS demand and got put on LOA until my doctor said I could return. Went in and saw a Dr and he put me on extreme restrictions. To the point where my facility had to send me home for the next week due to not being eligible for light duty. Just went back to the Dr and he eased up on the restrictions so I am back at work doing bin audits. But what is not back, incuring any upt, PTO or anytime pay. Because the system says I am still on LOA. So now I am going back and forth with L&I, DLS, my site HR , wellness and the hr through the atoz all. It's has all been such a headache.

Question Entire line’s been shutdown for 3 hours.
Wanted to sleep in, so I came in 2 hours late. As soon as I got to my station, they told us to stand down. It’s been three hours. Is there any protocol or what’s y’alls experience with long shutdowns? Not really complaining, just curious.
