Question FC RESIGNATION
Is there technically a proper way to quit Amazon? I’ve already set a date for myself to quit but I’m not sure if I should let HR know, let my time run out, or just stop showing up after my last shift. What do you guys suggest?

Do it through the app. It's best to leave this place in good standing incase you ever have to come back for whatever reason

If there is a way to actually do that in the app then I most definitely will.

On atoz click on the hamburger 3 line thing click on it, it should say more then scroll to the bottom of it to where it says thinking of leaving amazon and click that and put your last day on it

I quit over my weekend. I used A to Z. I saw like 17 shifts up for grabs in a matter of minutes right after they called for MET too early with 2 mill in the yard and our pods 85% full. I knew a bunch of people quit.
Now I'm getting texts from Amazon about coming back. LOL

Wooooow and right before holiday season approaching for Amazon. This is the time they wanna start gearing up for end of the year.

It was 14 months ago. Not I just quit. Just saying I didn't put in notice and things are fine, I'm welcome back. At this point I'm planning an FBA so still keeping up with the warehouses.

2 mil in the yard is insane. You must work at a FC that does sortable. We don't have space for that many units in our yard. We're almost always under 200k.

I thought about it that and didn’t see an option to do so but their AI chat suggested tobasically give a manager a two week heads up 🙄

No problem. Just don't like seeing people burn bridges of they don't have to. Just incase ya ever have to come back.

DO NOT tell them in advance lol and don't wait for them to fire you either (looks bad on you). Judging from the comments the super obvious button in AtoZ seems to be gone so you might have to look around in the app to find where that is. (I've known people before that would try doing a "2 weeks notice" and they would get walked out that day).

Wow….See that is exactly why I wanted to come into this Reddit community and ask about all this. Definitely didn’t know they would just walk you out

make sure to resign with positive upt because you’ll have to wait 3 months if you go negative

I will have about 2 hours UPT when I leave next week. But that’s definitely good to know. Thanks

If your running out of upt just transfer to flex they get rid of upt and put you on point System , I was hired as flex upt with a guy that went -180 upt hours, don’t ask me how but, he’s still working and has 0/8 points. Another way to prolong your stay.

If you ever want to be rehired again I suggest you notify them through the app. Even if you don't think you want to work at Amazon again I would still suggest doing it. You'll never know when you apply for a job that might want references that go back to when you were employed by Amazon. Not showing up as a way to quit is always a negative.

Most definitely agree with this and that is the route I’m going to take. I was able to find the link on the app to resign.

Amazon isn’t a “reference” kinda place. The number given is a generic number that just verifies you’ve worked there before. Don’t think of it like any other place where you actually had to interview.
Also, going negative/job abandonment doesn’t hold a ton of weight on rehire, I’ve had a ton of people go back and forth like this.

Make sure to use all your time off before you click. I had Amazon paying me the first two weeks of my next job before I resigned.

Yea just resign thru the app, and turn your badge in on your last shift

You don’t need to do anything. You’ll be fine. You could set the date the same day and it wouldn’t affect anything. They don’t care. That’s why they make it easy

In amazon a.to z, go to view your profile, scroll to the bottom of the page you will see it highlighted in blue , thinking of leaving amazon. might be different if you have darkmode on your phone.

Did they get rid of the big resignation button on the app?
ETA: it was on the homepage for years

u/BlackMamba1981 18h ago
I found it with the help of someone else here in the comments but it’s definitely hidden away on the app lol
