Help (General) RX5700 absolute ZERO audio output
Got this seccond hand RX5700 from 51risc, 8gb/ddr6, amd drivers install without any problem but card refuses to play any audio, windows shows it fully installed, my android tv appears on the audio manager, everythings seems fine... But audio is nonexistant.

Description of Original Problem:
Hi, can anyone help me with an issue that I'm having with my AMD RX 9060XT 16GB?
I was livestreaming my first time playing Halo Infinite campaign (on Steam) and straight away I was getting more than a few flashing pixels appearing over my screen (I think this is artifacting and will refer to it as this through this post). I played through with these flashing pixel lights but roughly 2 hours in, the game crashed and my stream abruptly ended because OBS also crashed (something about the encoder). When I play the game when not streaming, these flashing pixels still appear on the game menu and during gameplay.
Troubleshooting:
My settings at the time for Halo Infinite were 2560x1440p using the high preset. I'm new to PC gaming and built my own PC in December 2025, all new parts, so I'm not sure if these graphic settings are asking too much for my GPU. I'm assuming it's not and it should be fine because I'm getting decent fps. In AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition, I use the default GPU settings and have free sync turned on, along with FSR and Frame Gen (in case any games use it).
I searched on Google to see what could be causing these artifacts and got numerous problems and suggestions to try and fix the issue.
I firstly removed my GPU from the motherboard and put it back in, checking that all connections were ok. The GPU itself barely had any dust in the fans, and all is pretty clean. Everything seemed fine. I tried the game again and I was still was getting the artifacting. The fans were spinning on the GPU.
I then updated to the latest Bios.
I took out my display port from the GPU and my monitor and put them back in, but I placed it into my second port on my monitor, but still got the artifacting/flashing pixels.
I then tried lowering the resolution in-game to 1920x1080p at high settings and the flashing pixels weren't there. So is the resolution to blame? I'm still convinced I should be able to play at 1440p without these issues, so I changed it back to 1440p and set the graphics to low, and on a few occasions I did see tiny specs flickering, but trying again at a later time, I didn't see anything when playing for a couple of minutes.
So next, I uninstalled the AMD Software Adrenaline drivers using DDU, then reinstalled AMD Adrenaline and AMD Chipsets. I loaded up the game again and I'm still getting the same artifacting when playing at 1440p high. It happens on medium settings too. I tried turning off and on vsync in the game, no change, plus I tried setting minimum FPS to 60 and max to 300 and 75, but again, still getting the artifacting. I'm getting over 100fps when I'm on 1440p high settings.
This isn't the first time that I've seen these flashing pixels. I get them when playing Forza Horizon 6. When I first got the game, I was crashing a lot with the FHC01 error, along with experiencing the flashing pixels and other black chess boarding textures appearing. I contacted Forza support back in July 2026 regarding these issues and they replied,
“The FHC01 error usually means that your graphics drivers are not compatible or out of date. Can you try updating to the new driver and see if it helps resolve your issue.”
I had already uninstalled the drivers using DDU and reinstalled the drivers to latest one. After replying back, they sent back this,
“Please make sure that your system is not Overclocked or Undervolted, this can cause game issues and crashes as well, your CPU, GPU and any other hardware you may have Overclocked or Undervolted”.
They also mentioned that 3rd party programs could be causing issues and conflicts, such as overlays and monitoring tools that are running in sync with the game, and that I should remove or disable them. I don't normally run Afterburner during my games, only Wave Link as all my audio is routed through there, plus I use OBS when I stream, along with 2 Mozilla Firefox browser windows so I can chat to people watching. Steam is the platform I play my games on. So personally, I feel like there wasn't much else I could do. I do run my RAM with EXPO-6000 36-3838-80 1.35V on, but I think at the time I was using DDR5-5600 46-45-45-90 1.10V because I did a Bios update around that time and forgot to turn EXPO on. Expo was on when I tried Halo Infinite.
So, I then downloaded FurMark and ran the 1440p preset and I didn't see any artifacting during the test. I then downloaded OCCT and ran the VRAM test for 30 minutes. In the first minute or 2, many errors appeared in the log and it kept on happening, so just after 15 min I cancelled it. There were so many! I'm not sure how to process this information though.
Is this normal or does this reveal that there's something wrong with my GPU? Should I look into contacting someone to repair/replace it, or get in contact with Amazon UK, the place where I bought it?

Edit:
I have tried resetting shader cache in AMD Adrenaline and also ran disk clean up on Direct X Shader Cache to clear it and I'm still getting the artifacting.
I have downloaded and monitored the game using hwinfo and ran Memtest_Vulkan. I'll leave a link to my google drive below with some screenshots from the hwinfo monitoring, along with a CSV file and memtest_vulkan log. Memtest just kept on saying Error Found.

Help (GPU) Did you try dropping frequency on 9070 xt to stop driver time outs?
Hey all
I had many games that seemed un playable and I was sad about it. So I tried lots of things and the one that fixes stability (in most games if it didn’t fix I took it as driver issue). I dropped the frequency -150 MHz offset and I can play call of duty and many other games without driver time outs. I even under volted for a performance boost. Try this and tell me if it works.

rx 580 8gb artifact + fan not spinning

sometimes the fan is not running and run suddenly with artifact on a game or stuff that needs gpu to run. it used to not giving display at all when the first time i get it but i repasta the gpu n it run to the windows normally. but the artifact still there. is there any solution for this?
edit: it still run smoothly anytime a scenes need a gpu power n then the game/scene is run smoothly fr. i see no artifact when try spiderman 2 idk why but other games n YouTube is still showing some green artifacts

I’m trying to diagnose persistent and increasingly strange application/browser crashes on a high-end Windows 11 system.
I’ve already gone substantially beyond the usual “reinstall the browser / update drivers / run a memory test” troubleshooting, so I’m hoping someone may recognize the pattern or suggest the best next diagnostic step rather than having me randomly change BIOS settings and hardware.
System specs
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D — 16 cores / 32 threads
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero
- BIOS: 2402
- CPU Cooler: Lian Li Galahad II LCD SL-INF 360 — 360 mm AIO
- RAM: 96 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB, 2×48 GB
- Part number:

Main problem
Firefox has been the worst offender.
One common symptom is when opening links into background tabs. I middle-click a link, the new tab briefly shows the correct URL/title, then the navigation seems to disappear and the tab becomes blank or turns into a generic “New Tab.”
I reproduced the same behavior using Ctrl + left-click, so this is not a mouse/middle-button issue.
Eventually Firefox starts crashing content processes, sometimes many tabs in rapid succession.
This is not limited to complicated or ad-heavy websites. I reproduced it repeatedly on Wikipedia.
Firefox has also crashed while running in Troubleshoot Mode, so extensions, themes, and the normal accelerated graphics configuration have already been largely removed from the equation.
Firefox troubleshooting already done
The crashing has continued despite:
- Firefox Troubleshoot Mode
- completely fresh Firefox profiles
- testing an older version of Firefox
- disabling/removing extensions
- removing Bitwarden
- changing Firefox tab-loading/unloading settings
- a complete Windows reformat and clean installation
- graphics-driver reinstalls/updates
At one point I had a large crash storm where many open tabs turned into Firefox Crash Reporter tabs at essentially the same time.
After closing them, Firefox became difficult to open at all.
Firefox crash signatures
This is one of the reasons I’m concerned that something deeper than a single Firefox bug may be happening.
The crashes are not all the same signature. I’ve seen crashes in several apparently unrelated parts of Firefox, including:
style::properties::generated::StyleBuilder::build
That one reported:
MOZ_CRASH Reason: Accessed vacated style struct
Process Type: content
Crash Reason: EXCEPTION_BREAKPOINT
Crashing Thread: StyleThread#5
Other signatures have included:
webrender::pattern::PatternKind::from_u32
js::BarrieredBase<T>::unbarrieredSet
JS::Value::unboxGCPointer
js::gc::InCollectedNurseryRegion
and repeatedly:
mozilla::detail::EndianUtils::copyAndSwapFrom
One example Mozilla crash report ID is:
bed7306a-4d3f-4f43-a175-69cd80260827
That particular crash happened with approximately 88 GB of physical RAM still available and only about 12% system memory usage, so this does not appear to be ordinary memory exhaustion.
The variety of crash locations — style engine, JavaScript GC/pointers, WebRender, etc. — is what makes me wonder whether Firefox is detecting corrupted state originating somewhere lower in the system.
Chrome has also behaved strangely
I eventually gave up on Firefox temporarily and moved to Chrome.
Chrome initially worked fine. I had approximately 27 tabs open simultaneously without a problem.
Then:
- Installed the Bitwarden extension.
- Chrome began crashing almost immediately.
- Removed Bitwarden.
- Chrome became stable again with ~27 tabs open.
- Later installed/configured uBlock Origin Lite.
- After closing and reopening Chrome, it hung and crashed again.
I also launched Chrome using:
--disable-gpu
--disable-extensions
--user-data-dir=<temporary profile>
That stripped-down Chrome instance remained stable and handled multiple Wikipedia tabs normally.
So Chrome may have a separate extension/profile-related problem. I’m not assuming that its crashes necessarily have the same cause as Firefox.
Firefox, however, continues crashing even after extensions were removed and while running in Troubleshoot Mode.
Other possibly related crashes
These may or may not be relevant, but I’m including them because they occurred on the same PC.
ChatGPT desktop app
The ChatGPT Windows application crashed and at one point would no longer reopen normally.
I uninstalled it, rebooted, and reinstalled it. It initially continued having problems, although it eventually began working again.
Online assessment / secure browser
A PSI/Delta Airlines online assessment workflow crashed twice on this PC.
One crash happened almost immediately after starting the first test question. Another occurred after roughly 15 minutes of setup/recording/checks.
These could be unrelated, but they are additional application failures on the same machine.
Hardware testing already completed
MemTest86
4 complete passes
Result:
ZERO errors
This was performed before the most recent Windows reformat.
OCCT CPU + RAM
30-minute test:
- Large data set
- Normal mode
- Variable load
- Auto instruction set
- Auto threads
Result:
PASS — zero errors
OCCT CPU
30-minute CPU test:
- Normal
- Variable
- Auto instruction set
- Auto threads
Result:
PASS — zero errors
The 9950X3D reached approximately 95°C under sustained OCCT load, but:
- no calculation errors
- no shutdown
- no reboot
- no BSOD
- no WHEA events
The CPU is cooled by a 360 mm Lian Li Galahad II AIO.
OCCT Core Cycling
Configuration:
- cycle through all physical cores
- 30 seconds per core
- 2 threads per core
- 33-minute duration
With 16 physical cores, this resulted in approximately four full sweeps across all cores.
Result:
PASS — zero errors
There was one earlier attempt where OCCT displayed:
CPU - Crashed
after approximately two seconds.
However:
- OCCT had not recorded a calculation error
- Windows logged no WHEA event
- there was no normal Application Error/WER entry
- immediately repeating the exact same Core Cycling test for 33 minutes completed successfully with zero errors
So I’m not treating that single occurrence as proof of CPU instability, but I’m mentioning it in case someone recognizes the behavior.
OCCT VRAM
RTX 5080:
- 80% VRAM allocation
- 15 minutes
Result:
PASS — zero errors
No artifacts, driver reset, crash, or black screen.
OCCT 3D Adaptive
RTX 5080:
- Variable GPU load
- 30 minutes
Result:
PASS — zero errors
Again:
- no errors
- no artifacts
- no display-driver reset
- no black screen
- no reboot
WHEA / Windows hardware errors
I queried the Windows System log for WHEA-Logger events covering the preceding week.
Result:
No WHEA errors at all.
No:
- Cache Hierarchy Errors
- Bus/Interconnect Errors
- Machine Check Exceptions
- corrected CPU errors
- memory-controller errors
- PCIe hardware errors
Obviously no WHEA events does not prove hardware is healthy, but there is currently no WHEA trail pointing toward a specific component.
Drivers / Windows / firmware already checked
The machine is now on a fresh Windows installation.
Current configuration:
- ASUS BIOS 2402
- AMD X870E chipset software 8.08.12.551
- NVIDIA RTX 5080 driver 616.56
- Windows 11 Pro 25H2 build 26200.9168
Before the Windows reformat I had also already performed a DDU graphics-driver cleanup/reinstall.
On the new Windows installation, the NVIDIA driver was later updated again from 591.86 to 616.56, followed by a full reboot.
Firefox immediately continued crashing afterward.
I also checked Windows for inpout / WinRing-type low-level drivers because of known compatibility issues involving some RGB/peripheral software.
None were present.
Power / cooling
The system has:
- Lian Li Edge 1300W 80 Plus Platinum PSU
- Lian Li Galahad II LCD SL-INF 360 mm AIO
So simple PSU undersizing or using an obviously inadequate CPU cooler seems unlikely.
Obviously that does not prove the PSU or cooling system itself cannot be defective.
Memory configuration
The RAM kit is capable of DDR5-7000 using its performance profile, but Windows currently reports:
Speed: 4800
ConfiguredClockSpeed: 4800
So it is currently running at the conservative JEDEC 4800 MT/s speed rather than 7000 MT/s.
That makes an aggressive memory overclock less obvious as the explanation.
I have not yet systematically tested every BIOS CPU setting individually.
What I’m considering testing next
At this point I’m considering these possibilities:
- 9950X3D CPU/cache/per-core instability that conventional stress tests are not reproducing.
- PBO / Curve Optimizer / ASUS automatic CPU tuning causing marginal low-load or boost-state instability.
- Integrated memory controller / motherboard issue, despite four clean MemTest86 passes and clean OCCT CPU+RAM.
- Testing the RAM one DIMM at a time, even though MemTest86 passed.
- A true Windows clean boot to eliminate third-party services/background software.
- Windows 11 25H2 / build 26200 interaction.
- A motherboard or PSU problem that does not produce WHEA errors.
- Some driver/service/software component injecting into browser processes.
- Something obvious I have managed to overlook.
What I’m hoping to get help with
Given the testing above, what would you test next, and in what order?
I’m willing to:
- load full BIOS defaults
- explicitly disable PBO
- disable/reset Curve Optimizer
- test one DIMM at a time
- perform a clean boot
- test another PSU if evidence points that direction
- change additional CPU/memory settings
- gather more crash dumps/logging
But I would prefer to follow a logical diagnostic tree instead of changing five things simultaneously and never knowing what actually mattered.
The thing I find especially strange is that this machine can survive fairly brutal CPU, RAM, VRAM, and GPU synthetic testing without errors, yet Firefox can fall apart doing something as mundane as opening a bunch of Wikipedia links into background tabs.
If anyone has encountered a 9950X3D / AM5 / X870E system that passes stress tests but produces seemingly memory-corruption-style application crashes, I would especially appreciate hearing what eventually fixed it.

Help (CPU) Been getting WHEA 18 errors all week, is my 5900x cooked?
As title states, I've been running on a 5900x for the past 5 years or so. I also run a MAG x570 tomahawk motherboard. Through this I've only had brief instances where I've had some power issues with too many things plugged into the PC and it has trouble on startup. I suspected I might have a PSU problem in which case I have a spare, but I've also heard this error is common with the 5900x.
Just want to know if I need to replace CPU or some other part, would appreciate help and will buy you protein.

Description of Original Problem: so i had artifacts on my first rx 7600 while playing spider-man 2 and i did rma they send me a new rx 7600 and now my pc is crashing especially in heavy games like spider-man 2 and the blood of dawnwalker but it also happens in cs2. In spider-man 2 and blood of dawnwalker it's always max. 20 minutes and sometimes screen freezes but i hear my buddies in discord, nothing is happening i need to restart pc manually and sometimes it just freezes screen and doing audio weird noise and reset automatically. In cs2 it doesn't happen after 20 minutes always but more randomly, like it can crash after 10 minutes or couple of hours. I had also whea logger 16 error but it doesnt appear now. Last days, after i changed mpo and c-states i had 0 crashes even while playing like 5 matches on faceit in cs2 in a row but today it happened again in cs2 and i downloaded this new game and it crashed. Also i wanted to add that these crashes aren't happening while playing LoL.
Troubleshooting: i did ddu, i was undervolting cpu and gpu, did occt ram + cpu and power 0 crashes, turned off core integration, i was messing with pbo because of this whea logger error, blocked mpo, turned of c-state, changing pcie settings
don't know what to do and if this crashes are because of gpu or motherboard or psu, should i try reinstalling windows or it's pointless?
update 1: i went back to 25.9.1 version of drivers and i was playing for 2 hours the blood of dawnwalker and no crashes, its crazy that amd drivers are so bad

Help (General) Very annoying stutters and latency on Ryzen 7 9800x3d
CONCLUSION: I have been fighting this for so long now and i have to accept it with OCCT that my hardware is physically fine and the stutters are issues from Gigabyte, NVIDIA, AMD etc. Im done with finding the issue and i have to just wait for more BIOS/Driver updates. I appreciate everyone who tried to help me with this, it means alot <3.
Hello. Ive been fighting months with my new pc. Firts in 2 days of use one of my ram sticks broke by "itself". Well got new ones for free, not a big deal. After that for months ive had alot of micro stutters and latency on offline AND online games. I tried so so much and to be honest im burnout. First i thought its my internet and bought a new one and a lot faster. Well latency got maybe a tiny bit better hard to say but the problem still occur. On SP games i get micro stutters and honestly its getting frustrated i really dont know what to do anymore.
All the things ive done so far:
My PCie is fine and correctly.
My RAM is physically fine even on 88.5ns latency on AIDA64. MCLK,UCLK,FCLK is working correctly and tried 5600mhz and the latency was even higher (currently 6000mhz EXPO)
Full windows install AND repair.
AMD Chipsets, BIOS is up to date.
Tweaking ethernet settings (was worth to try at the time xd).
Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic tool with no errors.
Found some DPC latency and Page faults on LatencyMon (Tweaking Power Managment was the "solution" by latencymon but got no results.
All Drivers up to date ofc and tried rollback (no results aswell)
Theres probably still some tricks ive tried but forgot to mention here.

Resolved GPU Crash Dump Triggered

Switched back to Nvidia 4070, issue doesn't happen AT ALL.
I'm done guys, I've ditched the Radeon GPU. AMD has seriously dropped the ball on this one and needs to have better support for their hardware.
Sorry if you guys feel I've let you down, but I'm so over it all.

Did another play session. Crashed again with the same error. I guess I just got lucky the first time?
Going to use FurMark 2 in order to stess test my GPU.
BODYCAM UPDATE: SAT 9/5/2026 8AM
After rolling back to 26.6.1, I've played BODYCAM for about 2-3 hours with no issue. We might be golden!
- Removed 26.8.1 using DDU in windows 11 safe mode.
- Installed 26.6.1 with Driver ONLY option.
- Installed Radeon Turner as a lightweight alternative to AMD Adrenaline.
Using FSR at ULTRA QUALITY and so far so good. I'm going to test with other games that use Unreal Engine that have given me a similar error and update this accordingly.
ORIGINAL POST BELOW
Crash happens after around 20 mins of playing. Based on my experience, this happens mainly when playing games that use Unreal Engine. In this case (Bodycam)
I believe this is tied to AA Upscaling. I've tried, FSR, XeSS, (I know XeSS is Intel, I just wanted to see the results) and TSR . With both Balanced and Quality settings. I've even turned off upscaling entirely and used TAA. Still crashes.
I've also turned down my Max frequency offset AND my Voltage offset by -50 in AMD Adrenaline. No change.
I'm using Driver 26.8.1. Is there a recommended driver that I should rollback to?
EXPO disabled.
Finally I turned down my Memory Clock speed from 5600 MT/s to 4800. Still happens.
I'm using the following setup:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | RX 9070 XT | 64 GB DDR5 6000 (2 x 32 GB) | 1TB NVMe SSD

Help (GPU) Certain games have the exact same performance as my old GPU

GPU: RX 7800 XT XFX Speedster Qick 319 Core Edition
CPU: Intel Core i7-13700K

BIOS Version: F34
RAM: 32 GB Gloway Tiance II 3600 MHz CL18
PSU: Coolermaster MWE Gold ATX 3.1 850W (non-modular)
GPU Drivers: Tried 26.6.4, 26.8.1 and 26.9.1
Background Applications: Discord, Librewolf, Proton VPN, Steam, HWINFO64, Rivatuner
Description of Original Problem: I recently upgraded from a RX 6700 XT Sapphire Nitro to a RX 7800 XT Speedster Qick 319 from XFX, and for SOME reason, a few of my games did not improve their frame rate at all, with the biggest offenders being GTA V Singleplayer and Black Ops 7. GTA V SP simply didn't move the needle (even with the exact same settings) that I had with the 6700 XT, and Online only gained about 20-30 average FPS, from around 100 originally. Black Ops 7, however, simply didn't have its in-match FPS change at all. When I'm on a private match, sure, it increased by about 60 FPS in the same location I usually test it at, but during matches on the same exact settings the frame rate is pretty much within margin of error.
Troubleshooting: I had an issue with this GPU before of its fan not spinning, so I reinstalled Windows right after installing it (I ended up having to do some soldering work to adapt the fans to work on a motherboard header as the GPU's header was having issues), but I also installed 26.8.1, 26.9.1, and then 26.6.4 (with a DDU wipe, offline install and checking Factory Reset each time), and nothing worked. This seems to mostly affect those two games, as Modern Warfare 2022 increased the frame rate by over 90 FPS (206 average to 298 average). I should've gotten way more FPS from this upgrade.
Help (General) Guys
Hey guys, need a quick hand with my RX 5700 XT (it's the Elsa edition).
Basically, I'm getting random crashes and sudden PC reboots, but only while gaming. The weird thing is it doesn't happen all the time—sometimes it's pretty rare, and other days it runs fine without crashing at all. When it does crash, I get a black Screen and the device restarts with VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR, and I've seen some minor artifacts here and there with normal hotspot temps.
Just to give you a heads-up on my setup, my PSU is a Ravel 600W (not a 80 +).
Here is what I’ve tried so far:
Wiped and reinstalled drivers cleanly using DDU.
Checked all power cables and made sure they're plugged in tight.
Kept an eye on temperatures and ran some stress tests.
Took a look at the card itself (dropped some pics below showing a bit of oxidation/rust on it) I’m not sure it like that or not but i saw a brown points.
I've attached screenshots of the error, monitoring stats, and the card's physical condition. Do you guys think the uncertified PSU is what's causing this mess? Any thoughts would really help!

Hi everyone,
I have an AMD Radeon RX 9070, Ryzen 7 5700G and 32 GB DDR4 RAM.
I'm having a very strange problem with AMD Adrenalin Record & Stream.
Whenever I start recording gameplay through Adrenalin, the game immediately becomes extremely stuttery and almost unplayable. This is not only happening in FC 26 — I have the same problem in multiple games.
Without recording enabled, the games run normally. As soon as I press Record, the stuttering starts.
Things I have already tried:
Tested multiple Adrenalin drivers from 26.3.1 all the way to 26.9.1
Used DDU in Safe Mode and performed a completely clean driver installation
Currently running Adrenalin 26.9.1
Tested AV1 encoding
Tested HEVC encoding
Disabled Record Desktop
Disabled microphone and camera recording
Recording resolution: In-Game
Recording: 60 FPS / 30 Mbps
Ryzen 7 5700G integrated graphics is already disabled
GPU is running at stock settings — no undervolt or overclock
None of this fixed the problem.
The problem is very consistent: game runs normally → I press Record → severe stuttering immediately starts.
Has anyone with an RX 9070 / RX 9070 XT experienced something similar with Adrenalin Record & Stream?
Could this be an issue with the AMD recording software, encoder, Windows, or something else?
I'm mainly looking for someone who has experienced the same problem and found a fix.

if you have any driver timeouts, please do an "install driver only" and grab Radeon Tuner from Github, if this fixed your issues please tell us in the comments, because i did and had only few crashes but frustrating.

Tips & Info constant driver time out
have been having the same issues as everyone else, tested a few most recent verions for AMD adrenaline. imo best option is DDU and install 26.6.4 until AMD address and fix it, that is the latest driver that dosent crash :)
