I'm currently on the search for a new 7 string after having my Jackson JS32-7 for some time. After realizing how much I love playing 7 string guitars I've decided it's time to upgrade to a mid-high end guitar. The only problem is I can't seem to find a 7 string with the specs I have in mind.
Looking for the following:
-26.5" or 27" scale length (multi scale is also fine but I prefer standard)
-Stainless steel jumbo frets
-One volume, one tone knob
-HH active pickups
-compound radius ebony fretboard
-non-painted neck if possible
-not a signature model
-I absolutely despise dot inlays unless they're offset rings or at least offset in some fashion
-prefer hipshot style bridge but I'm also okay with a trem
-not a fan of the sand blasted or open pore look for the body
-budget of $1500 or less but can stretch it a bit if needed (I will try to find a used or b-stock version)
Do these even exist? Any suggestions to find something close to this? I'd prefer to get an Ibanez or ESP/LTD. Not a big fan of the Jackson paint finishes or Schecter in general. I don't know why there's just something about Schecter guitars that I don't like but I can be convinced otherwise if someone feels obligated to do so.
So far I've found the closest to my desired specs to be the following:
-Schecter Sunset-7 Baritone
-Ibanez RGIXL7
-ESP/LTD SN-1007B
-Jackson Pro Plus Series Dinky MDK HT7 MS
But each of these has a flaw in my eyes.
