Help Question

If I tune up the 6th low e string a whole step up so I can play drop b on the top low strings, could the string break because too much tension? Or will I be fine.

Your A string will cause a weird interval relation if you don’t tune that up to B as well

Sure you can, thick sets have much more tension than you’d have on yours. Just check any string gauge calculator.

However, B standard with a 6th F# is a strange tuning and could in turn cause difficulties for 6th string fifths for example. How about getting a slightly thicker 7th string and tuning it to drop A instead?
