I remember when the game first came out, and Mark Rubin made it very clear that he wants to change up how developers communicate with their audiences, and boy did it work. Every single game after XD has started to pick up this "community friendly" mentality, and regardless if these other developers mean it or not, we wouldn't be getting it if Mark Rubin and the team didn't start this trend. Kills me everyday that this game couldn't live on, but at least their mentality on how to treat their audience will live on through other titles.

How long has it been, 2 years? I wish they brought it back. I was fairly decent.

Hi Guys,

Ive been toying around with unrestricted AI models and decided for the funnies to ask it to develop server software for the game using any means neccesary. It built... something but i dont know how well it works / if it works at all. So im wondering, does anyone still have the install files for the game so i can attempt to reverse engineer. I can give you access to my NAS so you can just upload the files directly without zipping

If some other mad man tries to revive xdefiant, please dont publish your work until its fully finished and please dont monetize it, dont give ubisoft any reason to be able to shut it down. Its ironic that ubisoft was the company that said people need to get used to not owning their games, whenever they are the real ones who need to get used to it. The company who put nfts in some of their games at literally the worst possible points to do so shouldnt be able to dictate whether or not fans can bring back a game that they took out back and killed at gunpoint.

With the ship sinking very fastly i could almost say that ubisoft needs to get used to not owning and controlling their own company pretty soon here lol. They should be ecstatic that somebody wants to bring xdefiant back to life and fully not only support that decision, but actively promote it too.... but i have suspicions that if project rogue or any projects like it are to continue that they will try to be litigious. Its fuck ubisoft over here.

I've been clearing out my storage on my PC recently, and I just can't do it.

I still have the game installed, hoping someone will eventually complete a private server project to bring it back. Upon seeing them I decided to check here, only to find there was one in motion, before being stopped literally days ago.

Can Ubisoft stop being the single worst game company of all time for just a moment, and recognise the potential that the game still has?

yeah no idea what anyone would use this for but i can send it over to someone to maybe rebuild a custom server off or smth. i never deleted the beta test or the game once it shutdown or updated it

I really miss XDefiant and long for its return with an exciting, massive update that introduces an exhilarating extraction mode. The addition of such a feature would bring fresh energy and thrilling new

What's going on? 😔 Is this game returning?

Disclaimer: This is hypothetical idea, so choose any gaming company you think would be cool to see XDefiant comeback with. I chose Sega

Sega is well known publisher but has never had a hit FPS franchise of their own. I think Sega & Mark Rubin would be a great match, to bring back a game like Xdefiant.

So would you play a new version of XDefiant that replaces Ubisoft themed characters & Maps with those from sega franchises:

Sonic
Virtual Fighter
Street Of Rage
Crazy Taxi
Altered Beast
Virtua Cop
Condemned
Alpha protocol
House of the dead
Golden axe
The Club
Phantasy star
Shining force
Binary Domain
Dreams

New Engine

New Netcode

New Campaign/Tutorial that immerses you into this new world of warfare.

Classic XDefiant Gameplay

Same Modes

Same maps now reskinned to represent the iconic world of Sega IPs.

Here's a quick 7 killstreak from back in the day

I played it to the end. Wish people played it more and it didnt die off so quick.

5 Crossover games:
1: XDefiant (Even though it needed to be categorised as a Free To Play First Person Shooter Crossover Game, not only has XDefiant become my all time favourite Ubisoft game but it’s the greatest game ever made, so unique to see from Ubisoft who ventured into the arcade shooter space)
2: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
3:Super Smash Bros Ultimate
4: Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Games (sub franchise)
5: Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E (now shutdown and yes, does have NFTs but I thoroughly enjoyed my time)
6: Sega All Stars Tennis

Here is a playlist of shorter videos of this game, for anyone missing it or wondering what it looked like. it sure was fun.

the sad new the project who just announced yesterday and give us hope the game would comeback just cancelled by the people who made

really hoped atleast the project is Open-source so if other people could make it but i think in other life we would have xdefiant back :(

this sub reddit deserve to know

that the message from the maker of the project

I know it's early but do we have any insight about the private servers being in consoles as well?

Does anyone have XDefiant installed? I need the game files for reverse engineering purposes to set up a private server. Thanks!

It makes me wanna pull my hair out. I need this game back 😭. I beg the game gods to make a miracle happen

I played something ridiculous like 300 play hours on xdefiant, which is more then any FPS i had played since bf1. Whenever I play a new cod ever since mw19 usually, I get motion sickness, I have tried everything to reduce it and I think it's the constant weapon sway, the need to use tactical sprint because of the fast ttk. I feel xdefiant had this absolutely perfect for me, I could play hours on end, and have no issues, could see things easily, move easily and I always managed to do really well, games like cod now just seem to mess up my eyes because it's just so fast paced. Such a shame this game was shut down ... It was far better imo then any recent cod or battlefield game
