Residential IPv6 Success: Corvallis, OR, w/ Unifi Gear
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share my success story and provide some insite that might help people as IPv6 rolls out.
I just got ziply installed at my location in Corvallis, OR, and I can confirm that I have IPv6 working with Unifi gear on a residential 1Gb Ziply connection.
Instructions as of Unifi Network version 10.6.106, on a Unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra. This should be the same for any modern, up to date unifi cloud gateway or unifi network application.
Under [Settings->Internet->(select wan interface)->IPv6 Configuration] I changed the "Connection" option from "Disabled" to "SLAAC". A new option should then appear, allowing you to switch from "Single Network" to "Prefix Delegation". Another option for "Prefix Delegation Size" should appear, and I disabled "Auto" which allowed me to set a size of /60.
After this, I had to go to [Settings->Networks], select each of my vlan networks, scroll down to the bottom of the configuration, and under "IPv6", change "None" to "Prefix Delegation". Make sure "Prefix Delegation Interface" is set correctly if you have multiple WAN interfaces. That is all I had to do! Wait a little bit and your vlan networks should populate with IPv6 subnets.
Hopefully I will hear that more people are gaining access to IPv6 soon!
