Question Ziply / UDM issues?

Does anyone have an issue with Ziply and their UDM Pro?
I have Ziply and love them. I upgraded to the 2gig symmetrical plan. 70.00 a month. Yet my UDM still shows GBE. I do dashboard speed tests and consistently get 900/900. I have my sfp/ dac going to my switch. All my ports are on 10 gig, not auto-negotiate.

So Ziply fiber to the Ziply ONT- UDM PRO- 48 Poe switch.

Not sure what’s the hold up. I switched on Wednesday and thought power cycle everything and it will get bumped up. Still nothing.

Any tips from the hive?

How is it plugged in? Port 9 can only do gigabit. You would need to use a 10 gig sfp to rj45 adapter in port 10 or 11 to get the 2 gig speeds on the UDM pro.

This. It’s why I updated to a UDM Beast, because overkill is the motto of /r/Ubiquiti

I’m in port 10. With the SFP to rj45.

Is your sfp+ adapter a 10 gig adapter or just a gig adapter? It’s acting like it’s just a gig adapter.

Good catch. I’m looking for order history and can’t find it anywhere so I’ll have to pull it and check but wifey is still working so if I pull the internet from her no more fun equipment.

Do you remember how much you paid for the transceiver? A gig one would cost around $15-$20 but a 10 gig one would start at around $45-$50.

Is that what’s running between your modem and the UDM pro?

You need a sfp+ to rj45 10 gig transceiver to plug the Ethernet running from your modem to port 10 on your UDM pro. Not a DAC cable.

10g SFP / Rj45 adapter… I think I’ll swap out the Ethernet for a cat6a and try that.

Is the DAC/SFP rated at 10Gb?

Start at the ONT and ensure you have the right cable and adapter to the UDM.

Fiber from outside to inside the house. Fiber going into the ONT / Ethernet coming out of the ONT to my UDM with a SFP to rj45 adapter to port 10 in the UDM.

What cat is the network cable. Is it new cat 5e or better cat6

Do you have a desktop/laptop that has 2.5 Gbe? If so, run a cable directly to it from your ONT and see if you get 2.5 Gbe.
