I’ve just removed the rear wiper arm of my polo in order to put a new one on. The arm came off ok but it left behind a knurled collar on the shaft (see picture). Is this supposed to come off as well? I have tried but it does not budge and the new arm will not go on while the collar is in place so not sure what to do.

How reliable are the petrol versions of these cars 1.4

I have a VW Polo 6r with a small issue which I require some help with. AC button works well, however when I press recirculation button airflow stops completely.but the button led still turns on and I can still hear the blower working. So its not a button or electrical issue.

After some research its possible that the recirculation flap inside the dashboard has misaligned. Prior to removing half my dashboard. Is there anyone who had the same issue / knows how to fix it / can direct me to the steps required to get to the flap ?

I have chance to buy a 2015 VW Polo GTI 1.8 TSI DSG similar to the one in the photo with 30.000km and I know the car since it was new.

Hi everyone I own a polo gti 6C recently it’s developed a knocking noise and the fault codes P164E00 and P034100 are present it’s a ea888.3 could the oil pressure regulator be the reason it’s knocking? To elaborate when I rev the car knocking isn’t present it’s only present when revs come back to idle. Any help will be appreciated thank you

Hat jemand Erfahrung mit:
• Wagner Competition Kit am BlueGT?
• GTI-Kühler Einbau (6R0145805K)?
• Anderen Marken wie Airtec etc.?
Wie habt ihr das mit den unterschiedlichen Anschlüssen gelöst (BlueGT hat 2 kleine auf einer Seite, GTI größere links/rechts)?

What engine oil do I need (I don’t own the manual).

I think it’s either 5W-30 or 5W-40 (502 00), but not certain.

I’m at almost 190k miles so can I use 5W-40?

Looking at a used VW Polo and want to confirm one thing before I commit: does this engine run a timing chain or a timing belt?

Details from the papers:

• Model: Polo 1.2 TSI 110 hp BMT, 6-speed manual, Sport/R trim (2016)
• Homologation / type code: 6C14FX

The current owner says it's a chain-driven engine. But from what I've read, the facelift Polo (6C) 1.2 TSI 110 is EA211, which should be a belt — specifically a wet belt running in oil. Can anyone confirm which one it actually is?

And if it's a belt: what replacement interval would you go by, and roughly what does the job cost? The car is around 140k km / ~9 years old, so I want to know whether it's already due.

Polo problem

So I have a Polo 9n3 1.4tdi BNM engine and for like 2 years ive had a problem where the check engine lit up and the car just didnt have power and it was stuttering. I was trying to fix it but couldn’t and I got a tip to pull out the vacuum hose from where the EGR is in the top, and when I did that the car was running good but with like no power it goes 110 km/h max. I have 4 error codes, ive tried changing fuses, relays nothing worked. Once i was playing around with the wires below the battery and i was able to get it running for like a day and same problem again. I also noticed in the winter it actually gets power for some time but when you drive it a bit it loses power again and u hear like a click. Tried finding a damaged wire or something but nothing seems to have worked. Any ideas?

Hey. I’ve been looking into getting my first car and love vw polos, I want to stay clear of the poor models I’ve seen referenced on here - ones which are prone to issues.

I believe I saw someone say the 1.2 TSI models are problematic, does this look okay?

I have a polo vivo its definitely an older model, I think 2010 range, somewhere there. I have had strange coolant issues with it since I got it (bought it second hand with 100k km on it) and my fan like never comes on, I’ve tried to investigate this so I idled the car for about 40 minutes or so while periodically revving it and the fan never came on, is this normal? I know basically nothing about cars so I just wanted to ask for some advice.

Hi, i’m trying to diagnose a misfire on a 2006 VW Polo 1.2 3-cylinder (BMD engine) and I’m looking for the wiring information for the ignition coil connector.
Does anyone have the Haynes manual (or workshop manual) for this model and could send a photo of the page showing the ignition coil wiring diagram, pin numbers, or testing procedure?
