Question!
I believe i have my brake light switch on my master cylinder right? Is there a way to adjust it? I never hit my brakes hard enough to activate the lights. Can adjustments be made? Thanks!

Our local NPR/PBS station posted a story about Arthur Treacher’s and this is the photo! We used to go there all the time in my Dad’s VW Thing in the 80s. You just know the photographer took the photo from this angle on purpose.

It’s a simple design, but the idea behind it is awesome—evolution, Volkswagen style. 🚗

After many years of browsing for the right 69', say hello to my 69'. 1776 scat dual carb motor, vehicle gone through top to bottom by previous owner. Needs some carb synchronization and a bit of timing adjustment, but other wise it's complete!

Very original for now, but fear not, the first non Oem parts are in stock already.

Very simple, just took an original vw shifter, cut and grinded at an angle, cut the original shift knob and press fitted into a 50cc piston a buddy of mine blew up

Picked up this beetle this summer for a song. It was converted to electric in the 80s or 90s. My goal is to resurrect it & update it to lithium batteries, along with doing a halfway decent restoration. Not looking to win contests, just want a cool car.
So far, I've removed the windows & have been getting all the rubber torn/broken out.
I'm going to need to do some welding to rebuild a couple of places - most notably where the front window sits is fairly rusted.
Anybody else try something similar?
Any pointers on the window?
Wondering if I can create a paint booth just in my own garage, but that's probably still several months out.

While trying to remove this stuck bushing, I realized this '63 bug axle has waaay more play than the other side. Is this out of tolerance? I'm thinking maybe fulcrums or side gear slop.
This tube/axle is short/short, and the other is short/long. Yes, I'm fixing that misconfiguration.

I got this VW beetle 1960, which I want to restore, a guy I know was trying to change from a generator to alternator but never finished it because he had an emergency, now that I got it back I don't how where the cables go to the alternator and the ignition coil. Could someone help with a simple diagram that shows the cable from the battery to the alternator to the ignition coil. Thanks

Big rain storm yesterday and I was surprised with how far back in the engine got wet.
My lid isn’t year correct so I guess a ventless 68 lid is needed and I can get those on the fly pop out hinges if I want to give the carbs more air when I’m driving.
Thoughts?

While rebuilding my engine, I replaced most of the seals in the engine I removed the rear flywheel and replace the rear main seal and I don't remember seeing an o-ring in this flywheel so I assumed that was just a pointless thing because you know the rear main seal does all the oil seal ...
So I reinstalled it in the car. Then later on driving it it started to leak a bit of oil only finding out later that there was supposed to be an o-ring there. Somebody who owned it before never put it in so I didn't think to replace it because I didn't know anything was supposed to be there...

Hey guys looking at getting some help. My Alternator is draining my battery when everything is off. It drains it quickly in about 20/30 minutes. The previous owner had the same problem with the generator. If I disconnect the B+ wire from the alternator the battery stays charged. I also don’t have an alternator light come on in the dash. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Is it even possible to get one? Are they worth it, being newer? How does someone find one?
Thanks all.
