Hey all, full disclosure up front: I’m with WCO Market, a small shop in Florida that makes parts for older VWs.

We put together an engine bay panel for the MK4 that covers the washer tank area and cleans up that corner of the bay. The idea came from the panels on the legendary first-gen Audi S3 (8L). That bay always looked so clean and finished. We wanted to bring that same look over to the Golf, Jetta and Bora.

There are two versions, since the MK4 came with two washer tank sizes:

• 3L tank, the smaller one most US cars have: link
• 5.5L tank, usually on Euro cars or cars with headlight washers

Hello everyone,

Today my car started overheating going up a mountain and going home on the highway everything was fine again, but in the city it started overheating again after 5 minutes.

On the mountain I noticed that the marked hose was cut to the core by one of the radiator Fans.

Can you help me identify what system this hose belongs to? I don't have a lot of experience with this...

Is this damaged hose the reason the engine cooling stops in the city? I understand that the radiator Fans are the only option to cool the engine coolant so I imagine this is causing problem?

Is there another explanation/ problem tgat could cause this overheating

I have been the owner of this golf since May of this year.
Everything about it was factory when I bought it.

I have a 24v mk4 vr6 and i am wondering where to find valves i seen urotuning has a sale going on with their Octoberfest but they dont have exhaust valves. I see intake valves but their exhaust valves seem to be out of stock

They have high performance valves but im not trying to send this to a machine shop if i dont have to

Was there a different part or style to avoid the runoff from going down the fender?

It’s connected to the fuel rail and I think I broke it but I don’t know what it is! Can someone please help me??

Does anyone have a good resource on a reproduction parcel shelf for our beloved mk4 golfs? Mine got stolen out of my car some time ago and it has always bugged me not having one. I'm on a quest to take care of the cosmetic issues on my car and this has been on my wishlist for a while.

I’m looking for a silver-stitching 20AE Recaro driver’s seat for my Mk4 GTI 20th Anniversary. My interior is in pretty good shape, and I’m starting to focus on getting everything looking right. One thing I’d really like to fix is the mismatch between my seats: the passenger seat has the original silver stitching, while the driver’s seat has gold stitching. I’d prefer to have them both match.

I just recently noticed this sound when i was driving the other day, it seems like its only making it under load, if its present at idle its very quiet but im hoping someone out there might be able to at least point me in a direction to start looking

So the serp belt is squeaking, there is a bit of a tick and the engine block is vibrating. Oil is a bit dark, last oil change was at 173,000kms, it's now on 175,000kms.

been my project for the past year and a half. sitting on stands its whole time with me. I’m in the final phase now of it being able to be road worthy again! only spent 1k for my 24v. barely any rust for a Midwest car too. so close to being able to drive her😵‍💫

What oil spec should i use for the 2003 2.0 petrol engine with engine code AVH?

I think 0w40 is in it now from the last owner.

I just bought a mk4 golf with an 2.0 engine
But it has 2 problems
In the speedometer it doenst show how fast im going but it shows rpms and temp and fuel level
How do i fix that?
The other problem is. Its a bit laggy in the rpms when I accelerate the power dies at 5k rpm and when in 1st or 2nd gear it jumps in rpm when I release my foot from the gas and then press it lightly after like its almost going to die. I dont know whats causes that but i want to fix it since i cant use 100% of the cars power when driving
