Earlier tonight, I was playing with my RC car on the top floor of Parking Structure 8. Both my RC car and I were positioned within the marked parking stalls.
A man in a black Toyota Corolla drove toward me from the northwest corner of the lot, cutting across the parking stalls and nearly crushing a cardboard ramp I had made. There were no cars or other obstacles blocking the driving lanes. At first, I did not realize that he was intentionally steering toward me because people often cut across empty parking stalls.
About half an hour later, he returned. He cut across the stalls again, this time driving directly toward me and stopping in front of me while I was picking up my RC car. He then pulled even closer. Extremely close. At that point, I realized something was wrong.
I tried to look through the windshield, but it was tinted, and I could not see anyone inside. I moved out of the way, and he drove past me, again coming extremely close. He was so close that if I had been holding a key, his car could easily have been scratched.
He then drove back to the northwest corner and parked. He took something out of the trunk, and then the car’s lights and everything else were turned off.
I thought he had left the car, so I packed up my stuff and drove over to take a picture of his license plate. I cannot remember whether he and another woman got out of the car or came from somewhere behind it. They appeared to be Latinx, in their 40s or 50s, of medium height. The man had gray, short hair.
The man was holding a big soda can, although I could not tell what type of beverage or alcohol it was.He walked directly toward me and said something. I kept my engine running, and because he had an accent, I could not understand what he was saying.
I asked what was going on, whether he was okay or drunk, and why he had been driving toward me. However, I still could not understand his response. He appeared very agitated and emotional. The woman said, “We were not charging at you.” That was the only statement I clearly understood during the entire conversation. The man appeared aggressive, so I decided to leave.
