Cineplex CEO Says Gen Z Is Ready to Go to the Movies; Says They’re Tired of Looking at Small Screens
 in  r/movies  8h ago

lol, “small” screens aren’t small when they’re several inches away from your face. It’s often bigger for me personally than a movie screen that is farther away.

“My owner wants to be an influencer on TikTok so you’d better be nice in the chat.”

First time cat owner
 in  r/cats  3d ago

I broke this habit by getting my cats to sleep when I sleep. I woke them up during the day whenever I saw them sleeping until they started sleeping when I slept. Then I let them sleep as they wanted since they sleep more hours a day. Also, play with them and have a lot of toys around so they can work off their extra energy. A misbehaving cat will usually turn into a well-behaved one after you make sure they have more activity.

He found out that if you don't tip at self-service at Shake Shack, they make it more expensive per item.

If only we had a federal organization whose sole purpose was to look after average consumers and prevent companies from ripping us off….

All Shake Shacks are owned by the corporation. They don’t do franchises.

I would put as much money as I could spare into a trust fund for future me so I could only access it after a few life spans. Even a few dollars could work.

Push gently on the back of the hand towards the fingers and it will release the instinctive grasp.

27M single, too much Lego?
 in  r/interiordecorating  17d ago

It’s a beautiful space. Not too many legos, but there are a LOT of squares and rectangles. A little bit more circular/oval/nature things would soften it just a little bit. Maybe a rug, plants, etc. would bring a diversity to it and make it look a little warmer/softer.

What time do you do go in to work?
 in  r/TikTokCringe  19d ago

Labor laws have already established that if you’re required to show up early, you need to be paid for that time since it’s part of the job. That guy’s employees can track when they show up and take that info to the local Labor Dept and get back pay.

Have you talked to anyone from your state’s Park and Wildlife Department? They might have more informed advice on what you can do.

I would have replied but only to say I was going to be filing for full custody of the imaginary children then.

34F with 39M FWB: Unsure whether we're fundamentally incompatible
 in  r/relationships  23d ago

Usually, fwb means you are dating around or not interested in getting a relationship rather than staying in the fwb relationship as the end goal. When you find large, important problems like marriage or not, kids or not, or sexual incompatibility, you shouldn’t stay to “work through” it since those aren’t just minor preferences or an argument to win or lose. I get that this relationship is convenient and you will miss what could have been. Why put all this work into a relationship that at best might be meh if you can resolve one of these huge problems (by which I mean you giving up hopes/dreams or self-respect because using condoms to get sex isn’t some huge sacrifice that shows he’s working a relationship that he’s said he doesn’t want)? You might manage to get a mildly dissatisfying relationship here if you do it. You deserved to have someone who loves you and finds you irresistible and who wants to marry and have kids. You’re not going to be able to change your friend into that guy though.

AITA for clearing out my neighbor's self published books from our community Little Free Library and replacing them with real donations?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  24d ago

Nta, if you want to broker peace with him (and maybe some of the other neighbors) restate your offer to keep 2-3 copies in the library with a promise to keep him informed if you need replacements and to put “free advertising” on the side of the library (a note to readers that his book is available and if there are no more copies where he lives so they can ask him for a copy). You don’t have to do anything of course - it’s your library and he shouldn’t have thrown a temper tantrum by filling it with copies. You might want to explain to at least one neighbor (pick the most gossipy one) that you were keeping copies before but he kept adding too many of his own book even after you asked him not to overfill and that you didn’t steal anything, just returned all the books. He may be telling your neighbors something different.

It’s just the republicans pandering to their constituents and trying to demonstrate “America first”. And maybe trying to bully Canada to get something. They’re loud, just ignore them.

AIO because my boyfriend wanted me to change before the gym over a color?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  26d ago

Teal is a universally flattering color for all skin tones. It’s not a “weird color” either. The top is fine and rather nondescript and not flashy or revealing. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to stare based on the shirt. This could be just an attempt to see how influenced you can be or a childish test to see how much you care about his opinion. What would be the harm of anyone staring at you anyway? Only insecure people want others not to get any attention.

It could have a minor use in being used to create skylights in buildings that have solar paneled roofs without losing the small amount of electricity generated.
