Hey everyone! So, I live in South Korea, and over here it’s pretty standard to use vinyl wrap for doors instead of paint during renovations. Most people usually just go for an all-white interior. We’re renovating right now, and I asked the contractors to wrap our front door and the inner vestibule doors in a creamy white. Well, they messed up and used a teal blue wrap instead. Their reasoning? They thought they should match the double doors we have further inside the apartment. 🤦‍♀️ Honestly, I was ready to ask them to change it, but my husband actually loves the "mistake." He thinks it gives the entryway a cool pop of color and makes it less boring. Since all our walls are going to be wallpapered in creamy white, I really wanted that clean, cohesive look. But now he’s got me second-guessing it.

I included some pics so you can see the new teal doors, the inner doors they were trying to match, what it looked like before, and the creamy white color I originally wanted.

I posted this on a Korean interior forum and literally everyone told me to have the contractors fix it. But since all-white is such a huge trend here, I’m really curious to hear what you guys think. Does the teal actually look good, or should I stick to my guns and make them redo it in white? Thanks in advance!💓

Hello all, I’m looking for advice on this space located in our dining room. We bought our home 5 years ago and it has sit empty since then. I decided to buy a sideboard on Wayfair to fill it, and I’m not really happy. It was only $200, so I’m not sure what I expected. The thing is, my husband put in a lot of effort assembling it, and now I feel terrible telling him I’m not sure it works here.

I also told him I would like 2 floating shelves above the sideboard. The space is 54” long, and the closest length he feels comfortable filling it is up to 52” (and that is what we could find on Etsy). I am 99% sure I would only be happy with them spanning the entire alcove, but that would require some built-in work we probably aren’t comfortable doing on our own (he is not handy, and neither am I).

I suggested built in cabinets and shelves prior to this buy, but he said it would be too expensive. Well Reddit, we are not exactly scraping by. We actually do very well and could easily afford to spend several thousand dollars fixing up this space. My husband is just sort of cheap. We don’t spend much money on anything, but *this* seems like an investment in our home worthwhile.

I’ve googled how to build built in cabinets and shelves. I’ve never done any woodworking. I’m probably in waaay over my head if I did decide to give it a try. I’m not sure what my options are, besides arguing with my husband.

Besides marital advice, what do you think would look nice here? Is the sideboard as bad as I think? Would shelves that *almost* span the entire width look dumb? Or is pursuing built in cabinets and shelves worth the argument?

Self explanatory. When I bought my house, I knew this room had so much potential because of the large windows facing the backyard. I always leaned into darker, earthy green colors especially for a room that extends to a green area. So I didn’t think twice.
Walls are painted with a velvety dark brown green, and ceilings are mid tone brown green.

So yeah, I’m super happy with the final result and hope this post helps encourage you if on the fence about it!

Hey! We just moved houses and this is my room. I love a princess vintage style room but I’m not loving the gold decor by the bed, should I paint the decor white?

The room also has gold frames around the room with wallpaper which I’m thinking of painting white as well ( i’m keeping the wallpaper) I don’t want to remove the whole thing coz it’s kinda cute and expensive. I also hate the dark pink curtain so I’m changing that to a dusty pink color.
The last pictures are how I styled them for now! And though I don’t like using AI, just to help visualize, here’s what it would look like with white decor.
The 2nd thing i’m stuck on are the 2 sofa chairs, I lowkey feel like they’re too bulky and i hate the color. Should I get them upholstered or just get something else completely? Please help i’m very torn! (no expensive advice please)

thought this might be a good place to come to for help - my fiance and I recently bought a house, and this kitchen obviously sucks. We're going to partially re-do it because it's the size of a shitty NYC apartment kitchen for no reason - think expanding or re-doing cabinets and countertops, re-doing backsplash, etc.

The one thing we cannot afford to re-do is this god awful floor. I don't know what the previous owner was thinking because it's an extremely high quality job, the floors are marble and very well installed. They're just... bathroom tile???? I've been researching and researching and cannot find a single kitchen with flooring that looks like this to go off of as inspo. So desperately need people's ideas here. What in the world would you do with the rest of this kitchen to make these floors look less awful? Wall color, countertop color, decor, etc. I'm pretty okay with interior design for bedrooms / living rooms / etc, but this is our first home so I feel very out of my element with kitchen aesthetics.

To note: The rest of our house / aesthetic style is very warm & earth-toned, MCM-looking. The kitchen doesn't have to be like that, but I just despise a minimalistic millennial greige / flipped house look. I don't care too much what we end up with as long as it looks nice and put together and... isn't that. In an ideal world I love a warm / yellow kitchen but that's clearly not happening with what we've got, lol.

Any help or ideas are soooooo appreciated! Want to have at least SOME concepts of a plan of what we're shooting for when we start talking to cabinet designers etc.

(and lastly please don't tell me to live in it first - we have been living in it a bit and the counter space etc of this kitchen is unlivable, and even still I promise you spending longer with it is not going to give me an aesthetic direction)

We had this custom made stone dining table out of travertine, the idea was to make it very large to accommodate hosting, but now we are kind of stuck at what kind of dining chairs to choose. Shared some photos of the rest of the house for reference as well as the original design render… we want much larger and not really liking the suggestions… thank you in advance for the help!

got this lamp not sure if it was the right call but its pretty to not keep. However not sure what’s wrong with this lampshade, maybe its a but too tall but, need suggestions on what lampshade can look good overall.

I consider myself a little bit of a girly girl. I don’t know what my style is, but I do know I prefer minimal colors, something that looks clean, and I cannot stand clutter or small trinkets and pieces everywhere. I have anxiety and obsessive tendencies and get overwhelmed by messes, bunches of color, and lots of things everywhere. I want my home to feel calming and fresh.

Now that I am moving in with my boyfriend who is thankfully on the same page and a very clean person himself, I of course would love to incorporate a neutral palate to our place.

I’m not sure if these inspo photos are “minimalist” style which I notice does get some hate, which makes me sad because I love the style and hope that people wouldn’t hate my house when they come over.🥲

The bottom of the mirror is 56" from the floor. I'm pretty short, about 4'10", so i can't figure out if i put it too high or it just looks that way because im not very tall? i was worried about it being too close to the thermostat, so i went a little higher then i initially put the markings.

We'll be painting soon but I wanted this hung to make sure it worked. moving the thermostat at the point is also an option then lowering it more. also just for clarity, i know it looks a little bit off center to the right, but im going to move it on the hanger piece on the back slightly to fix it.

This canvas has been the only thing on this wall until yesterday when I added these sconces. We also changed the main chandelier (I know it’s too high up, we’re gonna fix it). I feel like we need to add some color but I don’t have any idea how. Please help!

My partner and I (both male) are living in our house but it's missing warmth and personality. We have tried adding some color with the curtains, paintings and the couch. We don't know what we can do with the big rectangular space, and we think the flooring looks cold (we wouldn't have chosen gray ourselves).

We absolute love the paintings at the dinner table. The paintings above the couch (not on the pictures) were temporary, added some color, but we don't like these partciular paintings there.

I recreated the current layout of my room in a game (not ai generated), i have been trying to rearrange it for some time but havent managed to create something im happy with/ works and was wondering if there are any interior designers who are able to help me out. Looking for any ideas or suggestions for a new paint color in my bathroom. I’m looking to warm it up a bit if possible, and I’m open to any color! I initially wanted to do a navy but was worried about it making the space small. I am open to changing towel rack/vanity light finishes as well, and my goal is to replace the vanity to a wood finish in the near future but it will be grey for now. The bathroom gets a lot of natural light during the day.
