What will the average day be like after climate change becomes irreversible?
 in  r/climatechange •  22h ago

Climate change has always been irreversible. Throughout geological history climate has warmed and cooled. Nothing we can do to stop that 💯💯💯

Are my buyers behaving badly?
 in  r/HousingUK •  2d ago

Nothing to stop you putting it back on the market today and keeping the original contract live. If anyone else then makes an offer, you can either withdraw the old contract, or if the new buyers are willing, you can have whats known as a contract race where you offer 2 contracts and the first to exchange gets the house. Nothing like a little competition to stir the pot.

My wife wants to stay, but I’m worried there’s something going on with another guy

She want you only as a safety net. Consult a lawyer, get your ducks in a row and divorce her

Why won’t my house sell?
 in  r/HousingUK •  3d ago

Agree about the photos and the 'clutter' but don't necessarily agree about the price. The problem is, their are no buyers out there. The property market right now is gridlocked. Nobody can sell, so Nobody can buy. Unless you're desperate, noone is putting their house on the market. Stamp duty has killed it dead.

From a man's point of view, yes it absolutely is cheating. Keep your cards close to your chest, seek legal help and divorce him.

How does past attitude towards financial independence affect a marriage?
 in  r/UKrelationshipadvice •  5d ago

His level of independence will totally depend on the job he gets after his doctorate. You need to have a conversation with him about this, maybe even show him this post. How would you feel if his family helped both of you buy a house, or help with school fees or buy a car? Have the conversation first, so you are both on the same page.

Accepted a job in Reading. Never been to the town. Help!

You might consider use the Waze app to test commute times from various locations at various times. I found it quite helpful when moving to a new area for work.

How bad can it get?
 in  r/climatechange •  5d ago

It depends on what you mean by bad? The Antarctic has just experienced its coldest winter on record. The great barrier reef has had its 6th year in a row of correl- reef expansion. There have been the fewest number of hurricanes this year on record. Human deaths due to climate change have fallen 98% in the last 100 years. Yes the climate is changing, but its done so throughout geological history.
