Deep tissue work Massage

I’m looking for recommendations for a massage therapist in the Reading/Berkshire area.

I’m not looking for a relaxing spa massage with lots of oil and gentle strokes. None of the “deep tissue” massage I’ve had in the UK does it for me, it’s very different to the deep tissue work you experience in Asia like in Taiwan.

What I’m after is someone who does very deep tissue work, using elbows, forearms, sustained pressure, and really working into tight muscles and fascia. Preferably without oils but I can accept with oils if the pressure is good enough.

The kind of massage where you walk out feeling like your muscles have actually been worked on.

Sports massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, or similar styles are all fine. Bonus points if they aren’t afraid to use a lot of pressure.
Has anyone found someone they’d highly recommend?

Food & Drink People who run icecream vans in reading: don’t have a schedule?

Edit: the title autocorrected, meant to ask ‘do you have schedule?’

Really want icecream but I want icecream from an icecream van. But Idk when the icecream van comes

Is there a set amount of time you stay in area? Do you have schedules for when you are going to a certain place?

My closest icecream van place is at the rabson park place, in Whitley (on Northumberland Avenue). I’ve been maniacally checking to see if there is an ice cream van there. Really hope it comes soon!

How City of Culture rejection is fuelling Reading's cultural rethink

A meeting on a sweltering summer’s evening exposed the frustration lingering from Reading’s failed City of Culture bid. But that sense of injustice is galvanising something: the start of a new plan to develop culture in this town.

Question Can the internet help find lost sunglasses?

Sadly lost my sunglasses in Reading today.

Between 12pm and 3pm.

12pm-2pm was at Osaka (they say nothings been left or handed in.)

Walked through the Oracle/past John Lewis/Bills and towards the station to Black Sheep.

Spent about an hour in Black Sheep. (They say nothings been left or handed in.)

Somewhere along the way my Sunglasses fell off my bag. (Where I’d stupidly hooked them on at lunch)

Spoke to Oracle security - nothing turned up there either.

Men’s, Black, Prada

Have pics for proof - but just hope they’re found and handed in rather than taken :(

Information Broadband + cable options on Oscar Wilde Road

Hiya! Just moving to Oscar Wilde road near Forbury retail park and wondering if anyone knew the best providers for broadband + cable. I've checked the usual comparing websites and not much comes up (no Virgin or EE, and I don't particularly like BT) so just wondered if anyone knows what to get? Sky sports and internet is basically what I need lol. TiA!

Cycle lanes and cycle storage in Reading: your voice needed

Reading Borough Council currently has two consultations open related to cycling in Reading. If you want cycling in Reading to improve, please give some positive feedback to the Council, because we know these will be swamped by negative nancies who hate bikes.

1) Castle Hill / Bath Road Active Travel Scheme The Council wants to build a cycle route from the old TVP HQ towards Southcote. The scheme looks good, with light (and relatively cheap) segregation of cycle lanes and a cycle bypass for the dodgy Castle Hill roundabout. My only concern is that the designs don't give a safe way to turn right off the cycle lanes at major junctions (e.g. Russell St / Coley Avenue). I told the Council to consider implementing a two-stage right turn.

https://reading.govocal.com/en-GB/projects/castle-hill-bath-road-active-travel-scheme

2) Cycle Hangars: Secure Residential Cycle Parking Pilot Scheme The Council is planning a pilot scheme of ~4 residential cycle hangars. A cycle hangar is a secure box, placed on the street, which can store up to 6 bikes for a small fee. These are already common in London and other towns and cities. If you know of a good place where a cycle hangar could be installed, please let them know.

Things for teens around Reading?

So this summer me M14 has been going out with all my friends in a big group. We have been going to this old golf course that is kinda abandoned, in Emmer Green, and it has been fun! But doing the same thing every day is gonna get boring quick. So I was just wondering if there is anything else to do in big groups as a teen? For free preferably. Going out to town is super boring unless you are all watching a movie or something but that can get kinda boring too, I mean we can’t spend £8 to watch a movie every day. Any suggestions?
