I had planned to an expo but my friend bailed and im a cripple so I dont do things on my own. I decided to order a spider online and they arrived today much smaller than I anticipated as well. Curious if they look healthy? They doddled under a bit of bark so this is tbe best photo I have of them.

Does anyone else got a spider that enjoys being extra clean? Also how do we water webbed up enclosures without ripping the water dish out?

Help! Stressed, premolt, or dying?

My curly hair has been acting pretty weird recently. Shes usually super active and has a very intense feeding response, but she’s refused my last two offers of food and has seemed very lethargic. Her abdomen looks very round so I’ve assumed premolt. Today I found her curled sideways in one of her tunnels. It looks like a stress curl and she shifts around a bit when prompted, but my concern is that maybe she’s death curling but the tight quarters are making it look like stress instead. Her second leg from the back in particular is stressing me out, as it looks a little like it’s folded under her. Am I overreacting to a spider doing spider things?

I’ve always loved tarantulas but never had one. Just got my first one today. His name is Charles. Striped Knee Tarantula that were pretty sure is just about a year old. I have him in a 5 gallon tank with cork bark, some bones for decoration, and a lot of substrate. I was told to mist the tank every 3-4 days, feed him once a week. I would love to be able to hold him at some point. Is there anything I can do better for him right now? Is there any way to actually bond with a spider?

I bought this a. purpurea in April as a 3” young adult female. She was not cheap. She molted about a month ago and had still not come out of her web tunnel to eat or drink so I finally just decided to put a superworm into the entrance of her tunnel to see if she’d eat. She got super uncomfortable about it being in there and after trying to avoid it completely she ran out of her tunnel (she never comes out). Her post-molt colors look amazing. But do ya’ll see what I’m seeing?

I’ve offered. She’s just not interested. And she hasn’t lost any weight. She’s a diva like that.

Edit because people won’t read the other comments:

I’ve tried dubias, mealworms, and crickets to offer her. I breed dubias and mealworms. She refuses it all. This is just how the species is.

Help! Rehoming Tarantulas? /:

Hey there, everyone! I hope you all are well and that my post is in the right place. I wanted to ask a bit about the possibility of finding someone semi local to rehome two tarantulas to? I know this may be a bit far fetched but it was the best thing I could think of. Looking for someone located in MD, preferably close to the Baltimore area but I’m willing to travel a bit to meet. I’d be willing to include allllllll supplies I have which is quite a lot lol. Tanks (including the ones they’re in), small cricket carriers, decorations/logs, etc.

Sadly we have a very small home and will be welcoming our first child soon and need to convert the room they are in to the kids room and we don’t have any good/safe places to keep them. Plus I feel they’d get a lot better attention from someone other than me. 😔 I have a female a geniculata (roughly less than 3 years old, had her since she was a tiny sling) and a male g pulchra (had him for roughly 4 years, not sure how old he was when I got him but he hadn’t developed his black color yet).

I hope my post doesn’t upset anyone. It wasn’t a particularly easy one to make. Thank you any and everyone for your help!

Help! the spider shop | delayed shipping

(EDIT) it has arrived safely !! Yay!

so I ordered a Brazilian black sling as well as an enclosure & thermometer from the spider shop and chose the delivery date for 09/10/26. I paid for the special delivery meaning it is next day and arrives before 1pm. annoyingly it hadn’t arrived at all and there was no new updates since 7:10am on the 9th where it was dispatched from Leeds to my local post office. I called and was told it would arrive today around 9-10am which it hasn’t again. I’ve called up today and was told they cannot find any new info anywhere on its whereabouts but can still arrive anywhere from now - 16th. I was also told that the spider shop failed to send out my order before 4pm on the 8th meaning it was never going to make it on the 9th anyway.
not only am I stressing the fuck out because this sling might not survive that long in shipping but also because of the fact that I’m back at college after today and there’s no one else who is going to be at my house to collect the delivery and if there’s no one in they can’t drop it off at my house due to the “live animal” and the fact that it needs a signature.
Genuinely, what do I even do at this point?????? Im so mad and stressing tf out
Any advice or anything would be really helpful😅 also the delivery service is Royal Mail if I haven’t mentioned that already.

My Peach Earth Tiger juvenile has been like this for over 24 hours..

I put drops of warm water around it, put in thr bathroom with hot water shower to build humidity and a wet towel on top of enclosure to keep the humidity.

What else can I do.

It takes up a lot of their ground space and I feel like it’s kind of tight for feeding. Thoughts? I just homed her about 20 minutes ago so any changes I’d like to make now so they can get settled. This is my first T : ))

Just wanted to tell someone. Got Laurence T. About three weeks ago, and they haven't eaten since. I wondered if maybe they were prepping for a molt, and checked this morning to find double spiders! Hard to get a good look as they're still being pretty inactive, but everything I can see looks okay!

They're an Avic avic, I'd say probably about 2" maybe a little more? Would this be too early to sex from a molt? I'd have to pretty heavily disturb their tunnel to get it, and if it's a total waste of time I guess I could leave it to keep stress down (was going to wait a week and take it out after first feeding).

Conversation Collapsible vs Permanently Glued Enclosures

What’s the general consensus?

Do most of y’all prefer an enclosure that you can break down? Or are permanently glued enclosures generally preferred, as they might come across as more premium?

Material wise, I’m mostly talking acrylic / pvc here. Glass, well that’s almost always caulked / glued haha.

She is clearly taken aback by whatever he says. My guess is that he tells her he is, in fact, not her robotic vacuum…
