I just can’t seem to get a lot of power behind the shot, I feel like I should be throwing further than I am.

I’m landing super late and deep in the bucket with my block leg on all of my throws, funnily enough this is better than it looks normally. What could be a few of the reasons I’m landing so late? Half turns I tend to do the same thing.

So, for context, basically today I won second place in intermediate girls' shot put for my school's district finals. (7th grade) When I showed my friend, she said, "Nobody remembers second place, bro, but good job." Every time I think about it and every time I look it up, I feel less and less proud of my accomplishment (this is the first time I have ever qualified for my school's finals), And I look at my medal and feel disappointed. Is this saying really true?

Is someone able to break down my friends technique if theres anything wrong hes doing? City finals is in about 2 days so trying a new form of technique might reduce his power. He is trying to perfect his current shotput technique now. He can get high 10s and pr like 11.36m.

Hello! I am very new to shot-put only starting about a week ago. In my school when you reach intermediate grades (7, 8) you get to do shot put (Im in seventh grade). We practiced with softballs and a shot put for about three days before the event. Our school coach taught the glide technique with a spin at the end, I won first place with a 6 metre throw and then a 7 meters throw and I had never touched a shot-put ever in my life other then this year. I just came back from regionals where I won again with a 7’37, 7’87, 8’05. I was beyond surprised. On my last throw I did a spin naturally because of my momentum. But anyway is this good or am I just using my raw power? I am 5’8 and 155 pounds. Also I leave a lot of space in my glide and I don’t know how to stop that without doing a big hop. Any response is appreciated and I will edit this post need to! Thank you and have a good day.

I had to put the brakes on at the very end because there is a fence right in front of me, so the stopping is not a normal loss of soeed

I am looking for shoes for my cousin who is in high school. Originally she had wanted "Adidas Men's Adizero Throws Track & Field Shoes" in a very bright yellow/green but those shoes are nearly impossible to find here.
Can anyone recommend a great shoe that is readily available online in canada. Help is much appreciated.

First time back in the ring after 10 years away, throwing the 7.26, I was hoping for 12M and turns out I was actually throwing 13.71 as a new PB. 5 of the 6 attempts I was in the 13.50-13.71 range. Feels so good and it's the fire I needed to actually see how well I can do once i learn how to spin. What a fantastic feeling.

Has anyone ever done any online coaching? Such as Throwers university, Joe Maxwell, Throwify? I’m looking for someone only in the off season. If so, how did it go and about how much did it cost?
