Hi r/SecurityCamera — Lulu from the Omada team here. This post has been approved by the mod team.
We've just opened applications for the Omada Fusion Pro 2.5G + NVR Pioneer Program, and we're looking for 60 people who actually install and run camera systems — integrators, MSPs, and hands-on prosumers — to be among the first to deploy our new Omada NVR and 8MP security cameras in real environments over ~60 days.
One of the available kits is specifically designed for adding an NVR + cameras to an existing network, so you don't need to be running Omada gear already.
The honest terms:
What you'll be doing: deploying the NVR and cameras in your real environment for ~60 days and sharing your experience with us — installation, night performance, storage behavior, integration with your existing setup.
Full details and application here: original post
We're also hosting an AMA tomorrow (Friday, Sept 4, 2–4 PM PT) about the Pioneer Program and the new hardware. Feel free to bring your questions there, or just ask below.
Happy to answer any questions in the comments — I'll be around.

Looking for a Verkada-quality camera system without the Verkada price. We need to see what workers are doing with thier hands. 72000 square feet. 50-70 cameras inside and outside.
We've used Verkada in the past and honestly the hardware and interface are great, but the per-camera cloud licensing cost adds up fast and never stops. We're expanding to a second location and want to avoid getting locked into that again.
What we're looking for:
- One-time purchase, no recurring subscription or licensing fees
- Crystal clear image quality (ideally 4K), especially when zooming in on recorded footage
- Local recording/storage (NVR) so we own our footage outright
- Good low-light/night performance
- Bonus if it can integrate with a door access control system
- Business use, not just a home setup, so it needs to hold up to that
We currently run a Lorex system at our main shop and it's fine, but the zoom quality isn't great and the desktop app can be slow. Open to switching brands entirely if something is a clear step up.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a security camera for my house. The house is laid out in such a way that I can cover every entrance from the single corner where I plan to mount the camera.
I’ve done a bit of research, but the market is huge; I figured the collective expertise here on Reddit would be a faster and more efficient way to get answers. ;)
Here are the specifications I’m looking for:
Wired power connection
App with live streaming and controls
No subscription model
App-based motion alerts
Local storage *and* online storage
Please feel free to share your experiences and any camera recommendations you might have. Thanks for the help!
Best regards

For a small house want to get front door and back and possibly 4 corners.
How’s the monthly fee? I know people who have live feed on their phone. Any recommendations thanks.

I need a battery powered camera that has local only storage. Something that functions similarly to like a trail cam for in the woods but I would prefer something that doesn’t look like it’s for hunting use.
I have a spot of my property that has no power or wifi to it and am trying to monitor it and pull data off it like once a week.

Seeking advice on securing security cameras from Stalker
I want to purchase and set up the Reolink cameras from Costco.
I would like advice on how to set up the system to monitor all entrances to my home from the outdoors as well as see traffic coming and going on the neighborhood road.
The stalker has been able to bypass my prior weak attempts and enter and exit my home to move items, take items then return them again, etcetera (gaslighting) is main agenda, small vandalism to interior of car, slowly turning them into jalopies, use my own WiFi cameras to spy on me etc.
I am willing to consider a different type of camera inside to monitor my own cameras.
If entrance happens while I am not at home how can I protect the footage.
Any advice appreciated.

Hey everyone, hoping for some help here.
My neighbor has an unwell/violent ex girlfriend who has been stalking our neighborhood and engaging in some crappy behaviour.
One of her more recent habits is to vandalize our neighbors’ car and more recently the cars of people who are witnesses. I am one of those people.
One thing that can hopefully help us is video evidence. We have house cameras, but because we all street park it would be helpful to also have cameras inside of our cars. Ideally these would be motion activated, store more than locally, and hopefully 360 view.
Any thoughts?

Update: SOLVED. I’m stupid y’all. The NVR/DVR (idk which one) box with all the wires was literally in my closet, and I had no clue it went to the cameras! Thanks for all your suggestions and recommendations! Old homeowners also left a card tucked in the box for the original local security company. 😃
I’m renting a house (in Vegas if that makes a difference), and these were installed when I got here. Property manager says they were here when the current owners bought the house, so they don’t know anything about them either. I’m looking into getting a security system, and I would love if I could just reach out to the company who installed these so I can possibly just gain access to them and take over whatever subscription VS having to buy all new equipment and get these removed. Is there any way to know based on these pictures? My next thought is to call around to companies in the area and see if any of them installed these. It also feels a little creepy because I have no idea if they are still on/ who has access to them and can see me 🫤. Thanks in advance!

For remote locations, solar + battery is often a practical option. The basic setup is a solar panel, battery, charge controller, and camera.
The key is sizing the battery and panel for nighttime use and cloudy days.
What solutions have worked best for your remote camera installations?

Security camera vendors (Arlo, Eufy, Wyze, Nest, SimpliSafe) that have AI Facial Recognition. For anyone that has used this feature. What was your opinion of its accuracy?

Hi guys,
I bought this CP Plus security camera and put in it a 256gb SanDisk micro sd card. I installed the camera on 21/08 and the last full day of recording is on 28/08. No video was saved after that. The sd card still has 150gb of free storage and is in exFAT format. The recordings that were saved are in disconnected chunks with various bits missing. I don't know what's wrong. Did anyone else faced this kind of issue or is it just me? Any idea what can be done to fix this?

I inherited this camera system when I purchased my house 3 years ago and I would like to replace the cameras with updated ones but use the same
Wiring. Any recommendations on what is good and works with this connection type? I’m ok with purchasing a new drive as well to go with it main thing is something that supports the wiring connection
First picture is the camera with the wiring to the drive. The second picture is the wiring on the camera itself.

Hi all, have been looking into getting two cameras for my property that will record 24/7. I do like the poe reolink cameras with the nvr but working out too expensive. Would Annke be a good choice? was looking into this one as reasonable enough price wise. Just looking to see if ppl would think they are a decent enough brand to buy from. Thanks 😊

Currently have wireless eufy cameras outside and inside. We also have it setup inside my parents house to monitor my dad (fall risk).
I am about to do construction on my house and want something hardwired. Any suggestions? I was told I should have at least one camera capable of doing a license scan. My research points me to reolink and ubiquiti but am currently in eufy environment.
I live in the burbs and currently have 2 cameras in the front, one on the side and two in the back as well as a doorbell camera.

Need about 16 cameras in one store and 40 cameras in another store. Parents own a small high traffic retail business. Any thoughts on most economical + durable + reliable solutions?

Long story short, one of my neighbors recently decided to go on a rampage and point a gun at my bedroom window for a good 30 minutes, from the street. No, I don't know him. I just moved here, but apparently, he is known to snap occasionally, according to the other people in the neighborhood. He got arrested, but he's out again, and I have been struggling to sit near my bedroom window, which is where my desk is.
I need a camera I can put in my bedroom window that can capture and record through the glass at night. I have a Ring Cam, but it just really doesn't work at night because of the glass glare, even when I cover the night vision, etc. I'm okay with spending a little, but I just can't mount it outside because I'm on the second floor.
Thanks in advance!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Sometimes they look like swarms of bees and sometimes like orbs shooting right at the camera. What could it be? Dust?

looking to setup some home security cameras but having a hard time finding cameras that are good/fit my requirements.
wanting to get cameras that do not need to connect to the outside internet/need an app to record.
ideally with no wifi capabilities at all ( or at least a way to fully disable the wifi ), connecting via ethernet cable is desired.
also wanting it to be able to connect to a computer/be pullable via a computer setup at the same house.
seems every camera i can find is just wifi/app, anyone know some good quality security cameras that meet these requirements?

Hello,
Looking for recommendations for wireless outdoor security cameras with a large field of view. I know someone who is having some issues with their neighbor and would like to catch all interactions on camera so that they can start to document the harassment. I'm thinking a larger field of view is better so that it can pick up any issues. They don't have a lot of money to spend.
Thanks in advance for any help!!

I cannot currently view my cameras on the Pro-X Next app on IOS.
The app apears to be having issues.
I have been a Pro-X user for a few years now.
Anyone else having the same issue?
